To open the hood:
1. Pull the hood lock release lever. The hood will spring up slightly.
CAUTION
Before driving, be sure that the hood
is closed and securely locked. Other-
wise, the hood may open unexpected-
ly while driving and an accident may
occur.
2. In front of the vehicle, pull up theauxiliary catch l ever and lift the
hood.
Before closing the hood, check to see that
you have not forgotten any tools, rags,
etc. Then lower the hood and make sure
it locks into place. If necessary, press
down gently on the front edge to lock it.To deter the vehicle theft, the system
is designed to give an alarm if any of
the doors, trunk or hood is forcibly un-
locked or the battery terminal is discon-
nected and then reconnected when the
vehicle is locked.
The alarm blows the horn intermittently
and flashes the headlights and tail lights.

The auxiliary box (type A) and garage
door opener box (stored in the glove
box) are interchangeable.
Removing the cover—
Half open the cover. Pinch each hinge and
pull it out of its pivot one at a time as
shown above.
Do not remove the cover forcibly.Installing the cover—
Align the hinges to the pivots, and press
each hinge until you hear a click.
Make sure that the cover opens and
closes smoothly.To use the box, open it as shown
above.
CAUTION
To reduce the chance of injury in
case of an accident or a sudden
stop, always keep the auxiliary box
closed while driving.
As these holder are designed for
holding a light object such as an
eyeglass, do not place any heavy
objects in them. Heavy objects may
cause the holder to open and con-
tents to fly out resulting in injuries.

NOTICE
During hot weather, the interior of the
vehicle becomes very hot. Do not
leave anything flammable or deform-
able such as a lighter, glasses, etc.
inside.
To use the box, pull on the handle.
