DTC 89 TRAC ECU Circuit
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the transmission is in the shift up or stall condition, the TRAC ECU sends a sub±throttle valve close
signal to the sub±throttle actuator.

DEFOGGER SWITCH INSPECTION
INSPECT SWITCH OPERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the voltmeter to terminal
7 of connector B and the negative (±) lead from voltmeter to
terminal 10 of connector B.
(b) When the switch is off, the voltage should be approx. 12 V.
(c) When the switch is on, check that the indicator light lights up
and that the voltage is less than 1 V.
(d) After 15 minutes, check that the switch is off and the voltage
is approx. 12 V.

DEFOGGER WIRE REPAIR
(a) Clean the broken wire tips with a grease, wax and silicone
remover.
(b) Place the masking tape along both sides of the wire to be
repaired.
(c) Thoroughly mix the repair agent (DuPont paste No. 4817).
(d) Using a fine tip brush, apply a small amount to the wire.
(e) After a few minutes, remove the masking tape.
(f) Allow the repair to stand at least 24 hours.
MIRROR DEFOGGER INSPECTION
1. INSPECT MIRROR DEFOGGER OPERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2
and the negative (±) lead to terminal 1.
(b) Check that the mirror becomes warm.
HINT: It will take a short time for the mirror to become warm.
If the mirror does not become warm, replace the mirror as-
sembly.
2. INSPECT MIRROR DEFOGGER CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the outside mirror and inspect
the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

MIRROR MOTOR INSPECTION
INSPECT MOTOR OPERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3
and negative (±) lead to terminal 4, check that the mirror turns
upward.
(b) Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror turns to downward.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5
and negative (±) lead to terminal 4, check that the mirror turns
to left side.
(d) Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror turns to right side.
If operation is not as specified, replace the mirror. BE±80

FRONT DOOR DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL
Remove the screw and pull the inside handle bezel.
2. REMOVE TRIM BOARD
3. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
(a) Speaker
(b) Inside handle
(c) Armrest bracket
(d) Service hole cover
(e) Inside handle plate
(f) Weatherstrip
(g) Belt moulding
(h) Inside panel frame
(i) Door glass
4. REMOVE WINDOW GUIDE LOWER PLATE
(a) Remove the bolt of the lower plate and connector.
(b) Unlock the snap by pulling the lower plate.
(c) Remove the snap and lower plate from the stud bolt of the
lower bracket.
(d) Remove the setting nut from the lower bracket.
5. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
(a) Window regulator
(b) Door lock
(c) Outside handle
(d) Door lock cylinder
(e) Outer rear view mirror

WINDSHIELD REMOVAL
1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
(a) Inner rear view mirror
(b) Sunvisors and holders
(c) Assist grip
(d) Front pillar garnishes
(e) Hood
(f) Wiper arms and blades
(g) Cowl top ventilator louver
2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD MOULDING
Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown.
NOTICE: Do not damage the body with the knife.
3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS
(a) Push piano wire through from the interior.
(b) Tie both wire ends to a wooden block or similar object.
HINT: Apply adhesive tape to the outer surface of the glass
to keep the surface from being scratched.

(c) Use a scraper to remove any excess or protruding adhesive.
(d) Fasten glass securely until the adhesive sets.
13. INSTALL WINDSHIELD MOULDING
Place the moulding onto the body and install it by hand.
14. INSPECT FOR LEAKS AND REPAIR
(a) Do a leak test after the hardening time has elapsed.
(b) Seal any leak with auto glass sealer.

Torque: 22 NVm (225 kgfVcm, 16 ftVlbf)
(c) Hood
Torque: 13 NVm (130 kgfVcm, 9.4 ftVlbf)

(f) Sunvisors and holders
(g) Inner rear view mirror
