2. To remove the fuel tank cap, turnthe cap counterclockwise by 90 de-
grees (to the pressure point 1), and
then turn it an additional 30 degrees
(to point 2). Pause slightly before
removing it.
Although a click will be heard as you turn
the cap to point 1, it does not indicate
that the cap can be removed.
It is not unusual to hear a slight swoosh
when the cap is opened.

3. The removed cap can be stored on the back side of the fuel filler door.
Position the cap so that the hooks point
to the left and right, and set it in the
receptacle on the back side of the door.
When installing the cap, turn the cap
clockwise until you hear one click.
When you hear the click, the cap is
fully closed.
If the cap is not tightened securely, the
malfunction indicator lamp comes on.
Make sure the cap is tightened securely.
The indicator lamp goes off after driving
several times. If the indicator lamp does
not go off, contact your Scion dealer as
soon as possible.
CAUTION
Make sure the cap is tightened se-
curely to prevent fuel sp illage in
the event of an accident.
Use only a genuine fuel tank cap
for replacement. It is designed to
regulate fuel tank pressure.
NOTICE
To prevent damage to the cap, ob-
serve the following precautions.
Apply force only in the turning di-
rection to the cap. Do not pull or
pry it.
Do not tighten the cap further after
you hear one click when installing.

Clock
The digital clock indicates the time with
the ignition off. To reset the time, the
engine switch must be in the “ON” posi-
tion.
To reset the hour: Push the “H” button.
To reset the minutes: Push the “M” button.
If the electrical power source has been
disconnected from the clock, the time dis-
play will automatically be set to 1:00.
When the engine switch is in the “ON”
position, push the “OUTSIDE TEMP” but-
ton to change the display from clock to
outside temperature display. (See “Outside
temperature display” in this page.)

The engine switch must be in the “ON”
position.
To change the display from clock to out-
side temperature display, push the “OUT-
SIDE TEMP” button. The display changes
between clock and outside temperature
display alternately each time you push the
switch. (See “Clock” in this page.)
The displayed temperature ranges from
–30C (–22 F) up to 50 C (122 F).
When you return the key to the “ACC”
position, the display returns to clock
mode.
If there is a problem with the connection
to the outside air temperature sensor,
“– –” will appear on the display. Contact
your Scion dealer. In the following situations, the correct out-
side temperature may not be displayed, or
the display may take longer than normal
to change.
When stopped, or driving at low
speeds (less than 20 km/h [12 mph]).
When the outside temperature has
changed suddenly (at the entrance/exit
of a garage, tunnel, etc.).
