For owners
Secure loose items to prevent weight shifts that could affect the bal-
ance of your vehicle. When the truck camper is loaded, drive to a
scale and weigh on the front and on the rear wheels separately to
determine axle loads. Individual axle loads should not exceed e ither
of the Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR). The total of the axle loads
should not exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). These
ratings are given on the vehicle certification label which is located on
the door latch post on the le ft side of the vehicle. (P. 541) If weight
ratings are exceeded, move or remove items to bring all weights
below the ratings.

What to do if... (Troubleshooting)
●If you lose your keys or mechanical keys, new genuine mechanical keys
can be made by your Toyota dealer. ( P. 123)
●If you lose your keys or electronic keys, the risk of vehicle t heft increases
significantly. Contact your Toyota dealer immediately. ( P. 126)
●Is the wireless key battery weak or depleted? (P. 451)
●Vehicles with a smart key system:
Is the engine switch in ON?
When locking the doors, turn the engine switch off. ( P. 220)
●Vehicles with a smart key system:
Is the electronic key left inside the vehicle?
When locking the doors, make sure that you have the electronic key on
your person.
●The function may not operate properly due to the condition of t he radio
wave. ( P. 123)
●Is the child-protector lock set?
The rear door cannot be opened from inside the vehicle when the lock is
set. Open the rear door from outside and then unlock the child-protector
lock. ( P. 131)
If you have a problem, check the following before contacting
your Toyota dealer.
The doors cannot be locked, unlocked, opened or closed
You lose your keys

It is locked to prevent theft of the vehicle if the key is removed from the

It is locked automatically to prevent theft of the vehicle. ( P. 222)
●Is the window lock switch pressed?
The power window except for the one at the driver’s seat cannot be oper-
ated if the window lock switch is pressed. ( P. 172)
●The auto power off function will be operated if the vehicle is left in ACC or
ON (the engine is not running) for a period of time. ( P. 221)
●The seat belt reminder light is flashing
Are the driver and the front passenger wearing the seat belts? (P. 486)
●The parking brake indicator is on

●Did anyone inside the vehicle open a door during setting the al arm?
The sensor detects it and the alarm sounds. ( P. 95)
To stop the alarm, turn the engine switch to ACC or ON, or start the engine.
●When a warning light turns on or a warning message is displayed , refer to
P. 485, 493.
●Stop the vehicle in a safe place and replace the flat tire with the spare tire.
