■Trunk Light
The trunk light is on when the
lid is open and off when it’s
closed.
■Map Lights
The map lights will not turn off even if the lens is pressed in the following
cases:
●The overhead light switch is in the ON position.
● The overhead light switch is in the door position with the door open.
● The illuminated entry system is on.
■ Trunk Light
To prevent the battery from being discharged, do not leave the trunk open for
a long period when the engine is not running.
The overhead lights turn on when any of the following operations is
done with the overhead light switch in the DOOR position and the igni-
tion switched off.
● Turn on for about 30 seconds when the driver’s door is unlocked.
● Turn on for about 15 seconds when a door is opened with a key left
in the vehicle and then the door is closed.
● Turn on for about 5 seconds when a door is opened from the out-
side with a key being carried and then the door is closed.
The overhead lights turn on for about 15 seconds when the ignition is
switched off with the overhead light switch in the DOOR position.
The overhead lights turn off immediately in the following cases:
● The ignition is switched on and all doors are closed.
● The driver’s door is locked.

Interior Features
■Illuminated Entry System
●Battery saver
If any door is left open with the overhead light switch in the DOOR position,
or the trunk lid is left open, the ov erhead light or luggage compartment light/
trunk light turns off after about 30 minutes to prevent battery depletion.
● To prevent battery depletion, if the interior lights remain turned on (the inte-
rior light switch is in the ON position or an interior light is turned on by press-
ing the lens of the interior light), they turn off automatically under the
following conditions:
• No operations are done for about 30 minutes after the ignition is switched off.
• When the LOCK button on the key is pressed or the request switch is
pressed to lock the doors on vehicles with the advanced keyless function
after the ignition is switched off (interior lights turn off a few seconds).
In addition, if the following operations are performed after turning the interior
lights off, they will turn on again.
• The ignition is switched to a position other than OFF.
• A door is opened.
• A door is unlocked.
● The operation of the illuminated entry system can be changed.

Headlights/Daytime running lights
Make sure the ignition is switched off, and the headlight switch is
off.
Lift the hood.
Disconnect the connector
from the bulb.
Detach the sealing cover
from the bulb. Retaining spring
Sealing cover
Unhook the bulb retaining spring.
Swing the retaining spring out and away to free the headlight
bulb.
Carefully remove the headlight bulb from the socket by pulling it
straight back.
Replace the bulb.
Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal proce-
dure.

■Front turn signal lights/Parking lights, Front side-marker lightsMake sure the ignition is switched off, and the headlight switch is
off.
Lift the hood.
XFront turn signal lights/Parking lights
Remove the fuse block
cover.
Turn the socket and bulb assembly counterclockwise and
remove it.
Disconnect the bulb from the socket.
Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal proce-
dure.

Fog lights (if equipped)
Make sure the ignition is switched off, and the fog light switch is
off.
Turn the screws counter-
clockwise and remove them.
Pull the center of each retain-
ers and remove them, and
then partially peel back the
front under cover. Removal
Installation
Disconnect the connector
from the unit by pressing the
tab on the connector with
your finger and pulling the
connector downward.

Turn the socket and bulb
assembly to remove it. Care-
fully remove the bulb from its
socket in the reflector by
gently pulling it straight back-
ward out of the socket.
Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal proce-
dure.
■Rear turn signal lights, Brake lights/Taillights/Rear side-marker
lightsMake sure the ignition is switched off, and the headlight switch is
off.
Remove the cover.
Turn the socket and bulb assembly counterclockwise and
remove it.
Disconnect the bulb from the socket.

Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal proce-
dure.
Verify that the cover is securely installed.
Insert the cover tabs and install the cover.
■Reverse lightsMake sure the ignition is switched off, and the headlight switch is
off.
Pull the center of each plastic retainers and remove them.
Remove the trunk lid trim.

Disconnect the electrical
connector from the bulb by
pressing the tab on the con-
nector with your finger and
pulling the connector.
Turn the socket and bulb assembly counterclockwise and
remove it.
Disconnect the bulb from the
socket.
Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal proce-
dure.

■License plate lightsMake sure the ignition is switched off, and the headlight switch is
off.
Pull the center of each plastic retainers and remove them.
Remove the trunk lid trim. Removal
Installation
Turn the socket and bulb assembly counterclockwise and
remove it.
Disconnect the bulb from the
socket.
Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal proce-
dure.
■Side turn signal lights (if equipped), High-mount brake light
The LED bulb cannot be replaced as a single unit because it is an
integrated unit. The LED bulb has to be replaced with the unit. We
recommend your Toyota dealer when the replacement is necessary.
■ Replacing Exterior Light Bulbs
●To replace the bulb, contact your Toyota dealer.
● If the halogen bulb is accidentally touc hed, it should be cleaned with rubbing
alcohol before being used.
● Use the protective cover and carton of the replacement bulb to dispose of
the old bulb promptly out of the reach of children.
● When reinstalling the sealing cover, make sure it is fitted correctly.

Overhead lights/Map lights
Wrap a small flathead screwdriver with a soft cloth to prevent
damage to the lens, and then remove the lens by carefully prying
on the edge of the lens with the flathead screwdriver.
Disconnect the bulb by pull-
ing it out.
Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal proce-
dure.
