Adjust the angle of the seat-
back so that you are sitting
straight up and so that you do
not have to lean forward to
steer. ( →P. 148)
Adjust the seat so that you can
depress the pedals fully and so
that your arms bend slightly at
the elbow when gripping the
steering wheel. ( →P. 148, 155)
Lock the head restraint in place with the center of the head restraint
closest to the top of your ears. ( →P. 153)
Wear the seat belt correctly. ( →P. 3 4 )
Make sure that all occupants are wearing their seat belts before driv-
ing the vehicle. ( →P. 3 4 )
Use a child restraint system appropriate for the child until the child
becomes large enough to properly wear the vehicle’s seat belt.

Make sure that you can see backward clearly by adjusting the inside
and outside rear view mirrors properly. ( →P. 157, 159)

Inside rear view mirror
The height of the rear view mirror can be adjusted to suit your driving
posture.
Adjust the height of the rear view
mirror by moving it up and down.
XVehicles with a manual anti-glare inside rear view mirror
Reflected light from the headlights of vehicles behind can be reduced
by operating the lever.
Normal position
Anti-glare position
The rear view mirror’s position can be adjusted to enable suffi-
cient confirmation of the rear view.

XVehicles with an auto anti-glare inside rear view mirror
Responding to the level of brightness of the headlights of vehicles
behind, the reflected light is automatically reduced.
Changing automatic anti-glare
function mode
ON/OFF
When the automatic anti-glare
function is in ON mode, the indica-
tor illuminates.
Vehicles without a smart entry &
start system:
The function will set to ON mode
each time the power switch is
turned to the “ON” position. Press-
ing the button turns the function to
OFF mode. (The indicator also
turns off.)
Vehicles with a smart entry & start system:
The function will set to ON mode each time the power switch is turned to
ON mode. Pressing the button turns the function to OFF mode. (The indi-
cator also turns off.)
■ To prevent sensor error (vehicles with an auto anti-glare inside rear view
mirror)
Indicator
To ensure that the sensors operate prop-
erly, do not touch or cover them.
WARNING
■ Do not adjust the position of the mirror while driving.
Doing so may lead to mishandling of the vehicle and cause an accident,
resulting in death or serious injury.
