When the ignition is switched on, the control indicator illuminates for
approx. 4 seconds. If it does not
illuminate, does not extinguish after
4 seconds or illuminates whilst
driving, there is a fault in the airbag
system, in the belt tensioner or the
deployable roll bars. The airbags, belt pretensioners and roll bars may fail to
trigger in the event of an accident.
Deployment of the belt tensioners,
airbags or deployable roll bars is
indicated by continuous illumination

Antilock brake system
(ABS)

Illuminates for a few seconds after the ignition is switched on. The system is
ready for operation when the control
indicator extinguishes.
If the control indicator does not
extinguish after a few seconds, or if it illuminates while driving, there is a
fault in the ABS. The brake system
remains operational but without ABS
regulation.
Antilock brake system 3 150.
Upshift R with the number of the next higher
gear is indicated or is popped up as
full page in the Driver Information
Centre when upshifting is
recommended for fuel saving
reasons.

Power steering

Power steering is reduced due to
overheating of the system. Control
indicator extinguishes when the
system has cooled down.

considerably more force is needed
to brake and steer. During an
Autostop the brake servo unit will still be operational.
Do not remove key until vehicle is
stationary, otherwise the steeringwheel lock could engage
unexpectedly.

Driver Information Centre
The Driver Information Centre is
located in the instrument cluster
between speedometer and
tachometer.
The following main menus can be
indicated in the display and selected by pushing MENU on the turn signal
lever. Menu symbols are indicated in
the top line of the display:

● ECO Information Menu s
Some of the displayed functions differ
when the vehicle is being driven or at a standstill. Some functions are only
available when the vehicle is being
driven.

Selecting menus and functions The menus and functions can be
selected via the buttons on the turn
signal lever.
Press MENU to switch between the
menus or to return from a submenu to the next higher menu level.
Turn the adjuster wheel to highlight a
menu option or set a numeric value.
Press SET/CLR to select a function or
confirm a message.

page 2 can be reset separately for
odometer, average consumption and
average speed, making it possible to display different trip information.
Select pages by turning the adjuster
wheel on the turn signal lever.Trip odometer 1 or 2
Trip odometer displays the recorded
distance since a certain reset.
Trip odometer counts up to a distance
of 2000 miles and then restarts at 0.
Reset trip odometer by pressing
SET/CLR on the turn signal lever for
a few seconds or by pressing the
reset knob near the speedometer
separately for selected page 1 or 2.
Average consumption 1 or 2
Display of average consumption. The measurement can be reset at any
time and starts with a default value.

immediately, a warning message is

Displays the instantaneous
consumption.
ECO Information Menu s

Turn the adjuster wheel to select a
page:
● Shift indication : Current gear is
indicated inside an arrow. The
digit above recommends
upshifting for fuel saving
reasons.
Eco index display : The current
fuel consumption is indicated on a segment display. For
economical driving adapt your
driving style to keep the filled
segments within the Eco area.
The more segments are filled, the higher the fuel consumption.
Simultaneously the current
consumption value is indicated.

switched on is displayed in
