Manual operation
1. To open the sun curtain, pull the controlbackward to the manual open mode.
2. To open the panoramic roof, pull the con- trol backward a second time to the man- ual opening position.
Close by repeating the above procedure inreverse - push the control forward/down tothe manual closing position.
Auto operation
1. To open the sun curtain to the fully open position, pull the control backward to the auto open mode and release.
2. To open the panoramic roof, pull the con- trol backward a second time to the auto-matic opening position and release.
Close by repeating the above procedure inreverse - push the control forward/down tothe auto close position.
Automatic operation - rapid opening or closing
The panoramic roof and sun curtain can be opened or closed simultaneously:
–Open - press the control backward twice to the automatic operation position andrelease.
–Close - press the control forward/down twice to the automatic operation positionand release.

2. To open fully, move the sun curtain control downward to the auto position andrelease. Then immediately move the pan-oramic roof control downward to the autoposition and release.
3. To close, pull up the panoramic roof con- trol to the auto position and release. Thenimmediately move the sun curtain controlup to the auto position and release.

Auto closing the panoramic roof sun curtain
With this function, the sun curtain closes
automatically 15 minutes after the vehicle hasbeen locked if it is parked in hot weather. Thisis done to lower the passenger compartmenttemperature and protect the upholsteryagainst being bleached by the sun.
The function is deactivated as the default fac- tory setting and can be activated or deacti-vated using the center display. 1. Tap

Rear door*
Lock button with indicator light in rear door.
Illuminated indicator lights in each door indi- cate that that particular door is locked. If anydoor is unlocked and opened, the indicatorlight in that door will go out. The lights in theother doors will remain illuminated.
Other indicatorsThe approach lighting and home safe lightingfunctions may be activated when locking andunlocking.

NOTE
Be aware of the risk of locking the remote key in the vehicle. If the remote key or key tag is left in the vehicle, it will be deactivated whenthe vehicle is locked and the alarm setusing another valid key. The key will bereactivated when the vehicle isunlocked.
If the remote key or Red Key is left inthe vehicle, it will be deactivated evenif the vehicle is locked using Volvo OnCall, and will be reactivated when thevehicle is unlocked using Volvo On Callor another valid key.
Button-less key (Key Tag)

The button-less key4
provided with the keyless
locking and unlocking function works in the same way as the regular remote key for key-less start, locking and unlocking. The key iswaterproof up to a depth of approx. 10 meters(30 feet) for up to 60 minutes. It does nothave a detachable key blade and its batterycannot be replaced.
Red Key - restricted remote key *A Red Key is a key that makes it possible to set restrictions for some of the vehicle's func- tions, e.g. maximum speed and maximum audio system volume. It helps vehicle ownersensure that the vehicle is being operatedresponsibly by other drivers.

NOTE
Avoid storing the remote control key near metal objects or electronic devices, e.g.cell phones, tablets, laptops or chargers –preferably no closer than 10-15 cm(4-6 in.).
If you experience interference, use the remote key's detachable blade to unlock the vehicleand then place the remote key in the backupreader in the tunnel console cup holder to dis-arm the alarm and start the vehicle.
NOTE
When the remote control key is placed in the cup holder, make sure that no othervehicle keys, metal objects or electronicdevices (e.g. cell phones, tablets, laptopsor chargers) are found in the cup holder.Multiple vehicle keys close to each other inthe cup holder can disrupt their functional-ity.

Keyless and touch-sensitive surfaces

With the keyless locking and unlocking func- tion, the remote key only needs to be withinrange, e.g. in a pocket or bag. The vehicle canthen be locked or unlocked by touching thepressure-sensitive surface on the door han-dle.

There are indentations on the outside of the outer door handles for locking, and pressure-sensitive surfaces on the inside of the handlesfor unlocking.

It is important that only one pressure-sen- sitive surface is activated at a time. If thehandle is grasped at the same time as thelock area is pressed, there is a risk thatdouble commands may be sent. This maycause the requested action (locking/unlocking) to be delayed or not performedat all.
Trunk lid handle
The trunk lid handle has a rubberized pressure plate that can only be used for unlocking.
NOTE
Please be aware that the system could be activated in a car wash if the remote key iswithin range.

Electronic Stability Control
The Electronic Stability Control (ESC 1
) func-
tion helps the driver avoid skidding and improves the vehicle's directional stability.
This symbol will be displayed in the instrument panel whenthe system is intervening. When the system has inter- vened to apply the brakes, apulsing sound may be heard
and the vehicle may accelerate more slowlythan expected when the accelerator pedal isdepressed.
The system consists of the following sub-func- tions:

Distance Alert *7
The Distance Alert function can help the driver become aware if the time interval tothe vehicle in front is too short. The vehicle must be equipped with a head-up display * in
order to display Distance Alert.

In vehicles equipped with a head-up display, a symbol will be displayed on the windshield aslong as the time interval to the vehicle aheadis shorter than the set time interval. However, the
Show Driver Support function must be
activated under Settings in the vehicle's menu system. Distance Alert is active at speeds above 30 km/h (20 mph) and only reacts for vehicles ahead moving in the same directionas your vehicle. No distance information isprovided for oncoming, slow-moving or sta-tionary vehicles.
NOTE
Visual warnings on the windshield may be difficult to notice in cases of strong sun-light, reflections, extreme light contrasts,or if the driver is wearing sunglasses or isnot looking straight ahead.
NOTE
Distance Alert is deactivated while Adap- tive Cruise Control
* or Pilot Assist * is
active.
WARNING

Cruise control

Using engine braking instead of applying the brakes
Cruise Control regulates speed by lightly applying the brakes. On downgrades, it cansometimes be desirable to roll a bit faster andlet speed be reduced instead by engine brak-ing alone. The driver can temporarily disen-gage the Cruise Control braking function.

Automatic standby modeAdaptive Cruise Control may go into standby mode if:
the wheels lose traction
the engine speed (rpm) is too low/high
the temperature in the brake systembecomes too high
the vehicle's speed goes below 30 km/h(20 mph).
The driver must then control the vehicle'sspeed.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC 16
) helps the
driver maintain a constant speed with a set time interval to the vehicle ahead.
Adaptive Cruise Control can help provide a more relaxed driving experience on long tripson highways or long, straight roads with eventraffic flows.
The camera/radar sensor measures the distance to the vehicle ahead.
The driver sets a speed and a time interval to the vehicle ahead. If the camera/radar sensordetects a slower-moving vehicle ahead, yourvehicle's speed will be automatically adaptedaccording to the set time interval to that vehi-cle. When there are no longer slower-moving vehicles ahead, the vehicle will return to theset speed. If the Curve Speed Assist (CSA)

activated, it may also affect the vehicle's speed.
