Activating and deactivating electric

The electric child safety lock can be activated and deactivated in any ignition mode higherthan 0. The lock can be activated and deacti-
vated up to 2 minutes after the ignition isturned off if no door has been opened.

Rear child lock
Activated will be shown in the instru-
ment panel and the indicator light will illuminate to show that the child safetylocks are activated.
When the electric child safety locks are acti-vated
the rear windows can only be openedusing the driver's door control panel
the rear doors cannot be opened from theinside.
The buttons on the right-side rear door willalso be deactivated. To deactivate the child safety locks:
–Press the button on the driver's door con- trol panel. > The message

Deactivated will be shown in the
instrument panel and the indicator light will go out to show that the child safetylocks are deactivated.
When the ignition is switched off, the currentsetting will be saved. If the child safety lockswere activated when the ignition wasswitched off, they will remain activated thenext time the ignition is started.

Cruise control
Cruise Control (CC 10
) can help the driver
maintain an even speed to provide a more relaxing driving experience on highways andlong, straight roads with even traffic flows.

NOTE
In vehicles equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control *(ACC 11
), it is possible to switch
between Cruise Control and Adaptive Cruise Control.
WARNING
The function is supplementary driver support intended to facilitate drivingand help make it safer – it cannot han-dle all situations in all traffic, weatherand road conditions.
The driver is advised to read all sec-tions in the Owner's Manual about thisfunction to learn of its limitations,which the driver must be aware ofbefore using the function.
Driver support functions are not a sub-stitute for the driver's attention andjudgment. The driver is always respon-sible for ensuring the vehicle is drivenin a safe manner, at the appropriatespeed, with an appropriate distance toother vehicles, and in accordance withcurrent traffic rules and regulations.
Using engine braking instead of applying the brakes
Cruise Control regulates speed by lightly applying the brakes. On downgrades, it cansometimes be desirable to roll a bit faster andlet speed be reduced instead by engine brak-ing alone. The driver can temporarily disen-gage the Cruise Control braking function.

Cruise control standby mode Cruise control (CC 14
) can be deactivated and
put in standby mode. This may happen auto- matically or be due to driver intervention.
Standby mode means that the function is selected in the instrument panel but not acti-vated. In standby mode, cruise control will notregulate speed.

Cruise control will be deactivated and put instandby mode if any of the following occurs:
The brakes are applied.
The gear selector is moved to
N.
The vehicle is driven faster than the setspeed for more than 1 minute.
The driver must then control the vehicle'sspeed. Temporarily increasing speed using the accel- erator pedal, e.g. when passing another vehi-cle, will not affect the setting. The vehicle willreturn to the set speed when the acceleratorpedal is released.

1. Press the ◀ (2) or ▶ (3) button on the
steering wheel keypad and scroll to the Adaptive Cruise Control symbol
(4).
> Gray symbol – Adaptive Cruise Control is in standby mode.
2. When Speed Limiter is selected, press
(1) on the steering wheel keypad to
activate.
> White symbol – Speed Limiter starts and the current speed is stored as the maximum speed.
Reactivating Adaptive Cruise Control to the last stored speed
–When Adaptive Cruise Control is selected, press
on the steering wheel keypad to
activate.
> The Cruise Control marking in the instrument panel will change from GRAY to WHITE and the vehicle willthen return to the most recently setspeed.
WARNING
A noticeable increase in speed may follow when the speed is resumed with the
steering wheel button.
Additional markings in the instrument panel
ACC will only regulate the time interval to the vehicleahead when the distancesymbol shows two vehicles.
A speed interval will be marked at the same time. The higher speed is the stored speed for your vehicleand the lower speed is thespeed of the vehicle ahead
(target vehicle).

If Pilot Assist still does not detect the driver's hands on the steering wheel after a few moreseconds have passed, the audible signal willbecome intense and the steering function willswitch off. Pilot Assist must then be reactiva- ted by pressing the

Adjusting set speed for driver support
It is possible to adjust set speeds for the Adaptive Cruise Control * and Pilot Assist *
functions.
: Increases the set speed.

–Change a set speed by pressing the
(1) or (2) buttons briefly or by pressing
and holding them:
Brief
press: Each press changes the
speed in +/- 5 km/h (+/- 5 mph) incre- ments.
Press
and hold: Release the button
when the set speed indicator (3) hasmoved to the desired speed.
NOTE
For vehicles without Adaptive Cruise Con- trol *, speed instead increases by +/- 1km/h
(+/- 1 mph) each time the button is pressed.
The most recently set speed will be stored.
If speed is increased by depressing the accel- erator pedal while pressing the
(1) button
on the steering wheel, the vehicle's speed when the button is pressed will be stored as the set speed. Temporarily increasing speed using the accel- erator pedal, e.g. when passing another vehi-cle, will not affect the setting. The vehicle willreturn to the set speed when the acceleratorpedal is released.
Automatic transmission
The driver support functions can follow another vehicle at speeds from a standstill upto 200 km/h (125 mph). Pilot Assist can provide steering assistance from near-stationary speeds up to 140 km/h(87 mph). The lowest speed that can be set is 30 km/h (20 mph). When following another vehicle,ACC can monitor that vehicle's speed andslow your own vehicle down to a standstill,but it is not possible to set speeds lower than30 km/h (20 mph).

Activating Park Assist Camera
The Park Assist Camera is automatically acti- vated when reverse gear is engaged or canbe started manually using one of the centerdisplay's function buttons.

Automatically deactivating the cameraFront view switches off when the vehicle'sspeed reaches 25 km/h (16 mph) to help avoiddistracting the driver. It will be automaticallyreactivated if the vehicle's speed falls below22 km/h (14 mph) within 1 minute as long asthe vehicle's speed has not exceeded 50 km/h(31 mph). Other camera views switch off at 15 km/h (9 mph) and are not reactivated.

Hold and Charge functions
In certain situations, it can be useful to con- trol the hybrid battery's charge level while driving. This is possible with the
Hold andCharge functions.Hold and Charge are available in all drive
modes. The functions will switch off if Puredrive mode is activated.
Function buttons for Hold and ChargeThe functions can be activated in the center display's Function view.
Hold
Battery level sustained for later use.
This function retains the charge in the hybrid batteryfor the electric motor andsaves available electrical cur-
rent for use at a later time, such as when driv-ing in an urban area or residential neighbor-hood. The vehicle will function as in normal hybrid driving with a discharged battery - in additionto reusing energy from e.g. regenerative brak-ing, the combustion engine will be used morefrequently to maintain the charge in the bat-tery.
Charge
Engine charges hybrid battery.
This function charges the hybrid battery with the helpof the combustion engine forincreased use of the electric
motor at a later time.
