CAUTION
• Before driving into an automatic car wash, turn off the optional rain sensor toavoid damaging the windshield wipers.
• Make sure that side view mirrors, auxiliarylamps, etc, are secure, and that anyantenna(s) are retracted or removed. Oth-erwise there is risk of the machine dis-lodging them.
• Chromed wheels:
Clean chrome-plated
wheels using the same detergents usedfor the body of the vehicle. Aggressivewheel-cleaning agents can permanentlystain chrome-plated wheels.
WARNING
• When the vehicle is driven immediately after being washed, apply the brakes,including the parking brake, several timesin order to remove any moisture from thebrake linings.
• Engine cleaning agents should not beused when the engine is warm. This con-stitutes a fire risk.
Exterior componentsVolvo recommends the use of special cleaningproducts, available at your Volvo retailer, forcleaning colored plastic, rubber, or ornamental components such as chromed strips on the exte-rior of your vehicle. The instructions for usingthese products should be followed carefully. Sol-vents or stain removers should not be used. The frames around the side windows, roof rails and door frames near the windows

anodized aluminum and should only be washed with a cleaning product with a pH value between3.5 till 11.5.

Engine oil. This label contains the recom-
mended engine oil specifications.
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The
VIN plate is located on the top left surface of the dashboard. The Vehicle IdentificationNumber (VIN) should always be quoted in allcorrespondence concerning your vehicle withthe retailer and when ordering parts.
Tire inflation pressures. This label indicates
the correct inflation pressures for the tires that were on the vehicle when it left the fac-tory.
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) specifications (USA) and Minis-try of Transport (CMVSS) standards(Canada). Your Volvo is designed to meet all
applicable safety standards, as evidenced bythe certification label on the driver's side B-pillar (the structural member at the side ofthe vehicle, at the rear of the driver's dooropening). This label also includes codes forpaint color, etc. For further information regar-ding these regulations, please consult yourVolvo retailer. U.S. models have the upperdecal; Canadian models have the lower one.

Brake fluid specification and volume

Engine oil specifications and volume
Full synthetic engine oil meeting the minimum ACEA A5/B5 must be used. Lower quality oilsmay not offer the same fuel economy, engineperformance, or engine protection.
Volvo recommends:
Refer to the warranty and Service Records infor- mation booklet for information on oil changeintervals and oil type requirements.
NOTE
This vehicle comes from the factory with syn- thetic oil.
Oil additives must not be used.
Oil viscosityIncorrect viscosity oil can shorten engine life under normal use. SAE 5W-30 will provide goodfuel economy and engine protection. See the vis-cosity chart.
