This shock absorber contains highly pres-
surized nitrogen gas. If the shock absorber
is damaged, it could explode causing injury
or property damage. Shock absorber cylin-
der damage could also result in poor han-
dling which could cause an accident.
8Do not tamper with or attempt to open the
cylinder assembly.
8Do not subject the shock absorber to an
open flame or other high heat.
8Do not deform or damage the cylinder in
any way.
8Do not dispose of a damaged or worn out
shock absorber yourself. Take the unit to a
Yamaha dealer.

Owner’s manual and tool kit
You are recommended to put this owner’s man-
ual and low-pressure tire gauge in the vinyl bag
and always carry them along with the owner’s
tool kit under the seat. The service information
included in this manual is intended to provide
you, the owner, with the necessary information
for completing your own preventive maintenance
and minor repairs. The tools provided in the
Owner’s tool kit are sufficient for this purpose,
except that a torque wrench is also necessary to
properly tighten nuts and bolts.
NOTE:
If you do not have a torque wrench available
during a service operation requiring one, take
your machine to a Yamaha dealer to check the
torque settings and adjust them as necessary.
