FINDING THE REQUIRED PAGE

of the manual. Look over the general lay-
out of the book before finding then
required chapter and item.

THROTTLE LUBRICATION/AIR FILTER CLEANING
THROTTLE LUBRICATION
1. Remove:

Throttle cable cap

NOTE:
Before adjusting the throttle cable free play,
the engine idle speed should be adjusted.
WARNING
After adjusting, turn the handlebar to
right and left and make sure that the
engine idling does not run faster.
2. Apply:

Lithium soap base grease
On the throttle cable end

AIR FILTER CLEANING
NOTE:
Proper air filter maintenance is the biggest key
to preventing premature engine wear and
damage.
CAUTION:
Never run the engine without the air filter
element in place; this would allow dirt and
dust to enter the engine and cause rapid
wear and possible engine damage.

lInstall the primary drive gear with the stamp
a facing out.
lPlace a folded rag or aluminum plate 5
between the teeth of the primary drive gear
and primary driven gear.

lRotor 2
NOTE:
lClean the tapered portions of the crankshaft
and rotor.
lWhen installing the woodruff key, make sure
that its flat surface a is in parallel with the
crankshaft center line b.
lWhen installing the rotor, align the keyway of
the rotor with the woodruff key.
3. Install:
lPlain washer 1
lNut (rotor) 2
Use the sheave holder 3.
Sheave holder:
YS-1880-A/90890-01701
T R..80 Nm (8.0 m · kg, 58 ft · lb)
4. Install:
lDowel pin
lGasket
lLeft crankcase cover
lBolt (left crankcase cover)
NOTE:
Tighten the screws in stage, using a crisscross
pattern.
New
T R..10 Nm (1.0 m · kg, 7.2 ft · lb)
5. Connect:
lCDI magneto lead

GRAM” section in the CHAPTER 2.
