MAIN SWITCH (TT-R90E)
Functions of the respective switch positions
are as follows:
ON: The engine can be started only at this
position.
OFF: All electrical circuits are switched off.
The key can be removed in this position.
“ENGINE STOP” SWITCH
Make sure that the engine stop switch 1 is
positioned to “”. The engine stop switch has
been equipped to ensure safety in an emer-
gency such when the machine is up set or
trouble takes place in the throttle system. The
engine will not start or run when the engine
stop switch is turned to “”.
START SWITCH (TT-R90E)
The start switch 1 is located on the right han-
dlebar. Push this switch to crank the engine
with the starter.

SHIFT PEDAL
The gear ratios of the constant-mesh 3 speed
transmission are ideally spaced. The gears
can be shifted by using the shift pedal 1 on
the left side of the engine.
WARNING
When starting out on the machine, shift the
transmission into 1st after pulling in the front
brake lever and closing the throttle grip.

HAUPTSCHALTER (TT-R90E)
Die Funktionen der einzelnen Schalterpositio-
nen sind wie folgt:
ON: Der Motor kann nur in dieser Position
gestartet werden.
OFF: Alle elektrischen Schaltkreise sind
deaktiviert. Der Schlüssel kann in dieser
Position abgezogen werden.
MOTORSTOPPSCHALTER
Der Motorstoppschalter 1 muß sich in der
Position “” befinden. Der Motorstoppschal-
ter ist eine Sicherheitseinrichtung, die das
Abschalten in Notsituationen erlaubt (z.B. bei
Umfallen des Motorrads oder klemmender
Drosselklappe). Der Motor wird nicht starten
oder laufen, wenn sich der Motorstoppschalter
in der Position “” befindet.
STARTSCHALTER (TT-R90E)
Der Startschalter 1 befindet sich am rechten
Lenkergriff. Diesen Schalter drücken, um den
Motor mit dem Starter zu kurbeln.
FUSSSCHALTHEBEL
Erst das Getriebe erlaubt die Nutzung der Mo-
torleistung in verschiedenen Geschwindigkeits-
bereichen, so daß Anfahren, Bergauffahren und
schnelles Beschleunigen möglich sind. Die Gän-
ge dieses 3-Gang-Getriebes werden über den
Fußschalthebel 1 linksseitig des Motors bei
ausgerückter Kupplung geschaltet.
WARNUNG
Beim Starten der Maschine den Front-
bremshebel ziehen, das Gas herunterdre-
hen, und den 1. Gang einlegen.
FONCTIONS DES COMMANDES
COMMUTATEUR PRINCIPAL (TT-R90E)
Les fonctions du commutateur aux différentes posi-
tions sont les suivantes :
ON: Le moteur ne peut démarrer que lorsque le
commutateur est à cette position.
OFF: Tous les circuits électriques sont coupés. La
clé ne peut être retirée que lorsque le com-
mutateur est à cette position.
COUPE-CIRCUIT DU MOTEUR
Bien veiller à ce que le coupe-circuit du moteur 1
soit placé sur “”. Ce véhicule est équipé d’un
coupe-circuit du moteur afin de couper le moteur
en cas d’urgence, comme p. ex. lors d’une chute ou
lorsqu’un problème apparaît dans le système
d’accélération. Le moteur ne se met pas en marche
ou cesse de tourner dès que le coupe-circuit du
moteur est placé à la position “”.
COMMUTATEUR DE DEMARRAGE
(TT-R90E)
Le commutateur de démarrage 1 se trouve sur la
manette droite du guidon. Appuyer sur ce commu-
tateur pour mettre le moteur en marche avec le
démarreur
PEDALE DE CHANGEMENT DE VITESSE
Les 3 rapports de la boîte de vitesses à prise cons-
tante sont idéalement échelonnés. Le changement
de vitesse est commandé par le sélecteur à pédale
1 situé du côté gauche du moteur.
AVERTISSEMENT
Pour mettre le moteur en marche, mettre la boîte
de vitesses en première après avoir rentré le
levier de frein avant et fermé la poignée des gaz.

STARTING AND OPERATION
CAUTION:
Prior to operating the machine, perform
steps listed in pre-operation check list.
WARNING
Never start your engine or let it run for any
length of time in a closed area. The exhaust
fumes are poisonous and can cause loss of
consciousness and death within a short
time. Always operate your machine in an
area with adequate ventilation.
STARTING A COLD ENGINE
TT-R90
WARNING
Before starting the engine, be sure to shift
the transmission into neutral.
1. Turn the fuel cock to “ON”.
2. Operate the starter (choke) and com-
pletely close the throttle grip.
3. Slide the “ENGINE STOP” switch to the “”.
4. Kick the kick starter with full strength to
start the engine.
5. After the engine starts, warm up for one
or two minutes. Make sure the stater
(choke) is returned to the original position
before riding.
TT-R90E
WARNING
Before starting the engine, be sure to shift
the transmission into neutral.
NOTE:
This model is equipped with an ignition cir-
cuit cut-off system. In case of electric start-
ing, the engine can be started only when the
transmission is in neutral.
If the engine fails to start by pushing the start
switch, release the switch, wait a few sec-
onds, and then try again. Each starting
attempt should be as short as possible to
preserve the battery. Do not crank the
engine more than 10 seconds on any one
attempt. If the engine does not start with the
starter motor, try using the kickstarter.1. Turn the fuel cock to “ON”.
2. Turn the main switch to “ON”.
3. Shift the transmission into neutral.
4. Operate the starter (choke) and com-
pletely close the throttle grip.
5. Slide the “ENGINE STOP” switch to the “”.
6. Start the engine by pushing the start
switch or by kicking the kickstarter.
7. After the engine starts, warm up for one
or two minutes. Make sure the stater
(choke) is returned to the original position
before riding.
STARTING A WARM ENGINE
To start a warm engine, refer to the “Starting a
cold engine” section. The starter (choke)
should not be used. The throttle should be
opened slightly.
CAUTION:
See “Engine break-in Section” prior to
operating engine for the first time.
WARMING UP
To get maximum engine life, always “warm-up”
the engine before starting off. Never accelerate
hard with a cold engine! To see whether or not
the engine is warm, see if it responds to throttle
normally with the stater (choke) turned off.
WARNING
Before starting off, be sure to turn up or
remove the side stand.
Failure to retract the side stand completely
can result in a serious accident when you
try to turn a corner.
ENGINE BREAK-IN
Brake-in is important to better fit the moving
and sliding parts as well as the installed parts.
It is also important to accustom the rider to the
machine better.
Avoid full-throttle run on a new machine for the
first 5 hours.
After the trial run, check for loose parts, oil
leakage and other problems.
Make full inspection and adjustment especially of
slack cables and drive chain and loose spokes.
CAUTION:
After the break-in period, check every fit-
ting and fastener for looseness.
If any loose is found, retighten it securely.

ACHTUNG:
Vor Fahrtantritt müssen alle Punkte in der
Tabelle “Routinekontrolle vor Fahrtbeginn”
geprüft werden.
WARNUNG
Den Motor keinesfalls in geschlossenen
Räumen anlassen oder für längere Zeit lau-
fen lassen. Abgase sind äußerst giftig und
führen innerhalb kurzer Zeit zu Bewußtlo-
sigkeit und Tod. Daher den Motor nur an
gut belüfteten Orten laufen lassen.
KALTEN MOTOR ANLASSEN
TT-R90
WARNUNG
Vor dem Starten des Motors sicherstellen,
daß sich das Getriebe in der Leerlaufstel-
lung befindet.
1. Kraftstoffhahn in Stellung “ON” drehen.
2. Den Choke aktivieren, den Gasdrehgriff
ganz schließen.
3. Den Motorstoppschalter auf “” stellen.
4. Den Kickstarter kraftvoll betätigen, um
den Motor anzulassen.
5. Nach dem Anspringen den Motor ein oder
zwei Minuten warmfahren. Vor Fahrtantritt
sicherstellen, daß sich der Chokehebel
wieder in der Ausgangsposition befindet.
TT-R90E
WARNUNG
Vor dem Starten des Motors sicherstellen,
daß sich das Getriebe in der Leerlaufstel-
lung befindet.
HINWEIS:
Dieses Modell bei elektrischem starter ist mit
einem Zündunterbrechungssystem ausge-
stattet. Der Motor kann nur gestartet werden,
wenn das Getriebe auf Leerlauf gestellt ist.
Wenn der Motor beim Drücken des Start-
schalters nicht anspringt, den Schalter loslas-
sen, einige Sekunden warten, und erneut
drücken. Jeder Startversuch sollte so kurz wie
möglich gehalten werden, um die Batterie zu
schonen. Bei keinem Startversuch den Motor
länger als 10 Sekunden lang kurbeln. Wenn
der Motor sich mit dem Startermotor nicht
starten läßt, verwenden Sie den Kickstarter.1. Kraftstoffhahn in Stellung “ON” drehen.
2. Den Hauptschalter auf “ON” stellen.
3. Das Getriebe auf Leerlauf stellen.
4. Den Choke aktivieren, den Gasdrehgriff
ganz schließen.
5. Den Motorstoppschalter auf “” stellen.
6. Den Motor durch Drücken des Startschal-
ters oder Treten des Kickstarters starten.
7. Nach dem Anspringen den Motor ein oder
zwei Minuten warmfahren. Vor Fahrtantritt
sicherstellen, daß sich der Chokehebel
wieder in der Ausgangsposition befindet.
WARMEN MOTOR ANLASSEN
Entsprechend den Angaben im Abschnitt “Kalten
Motor anlassen” vorgehen. Den Choke jedoch
nicht aktivieren. Den Grasdrehgriff etwas öffnen.
ACHTUNG:
Vor dem ersten Fahrtantritt unbedingt die
nachfolgenden “Einfahrvorschriften”
durchlesen.
MOTOR WARMFAHREN
Den Motor immer warmfahren, um eine mög-
lichst lange Lebensdauer zu erzielen. Bei kaltem
Motor niemals stark beschleunigen. Der Motor ist
ausreichend warmgefahren, wenn er bei abge-
schaltetem Choke willig auf Gasgeben anspricht.
WARNUNG
Vor dem Losfahren sicherstellen, daß der
Seitenständer hochgeklappt ist.
Ein ausgeklappter Seitenständer kann in
Kurven schwere Stürze verursachen.
EINFAHREN
Das Einfahren des Fahrzeugs ist sehr wichtig,
damit sich alle sich bewegenden Teile besser
einlaufen können. Außerdem kann sich der
Fahrer besser mit der Maschine vertraut
machen.
Während der ersten 5 Fahrstunden mit einer
neuen Maschine darf kein Vollgas gegeben
werden.
Nach der Probefahrt Maschine auf lose Teile,
Undichtigkeit und andere eventuell auftretende
Probleme prüfen.
Alle Prüf- und Einstellarbeiten durchführen, und
dabei insbesondere Kabelzüge, Antriebsketten-
Durchhang und Speichenspannung prüfen.
ACHTUNG:
Nach der Einfahrzeit alle Fahrzeugteile und
Schraubverbindungen auf festen Sitz prü-
fen und gegebenenfalls festziehen.
