To install a seat cushion, insert the projec-
tions on the rear of the seat cushion under the
seat frame, and then insert the projection on
the front of the cushion into the grommet
while pushing the cushion downward. Make
sure the seats are properly secured before
riding. WARNING! A loose seat could cause
the operator to lose control, or cause the
operator or passengers to fall.

Adjusting the driver seat positionThe driver seat can be adjusted to one of
three positions to suit the driver’s preference.

Adjust the driver seat position as follows.1. Remove the driver seat cushion. (See the
previous section “Seats”.)
2. Remove the bolts.
3. Move the seat frame to the desired posi- tion and align the bolt holes in the seat
frame with the bolt holes in the vehicle
frame. 4. Install the bolts, and then tighten the bolts
to the specified torque.
5. Install the cushion.
EBU31490Seat beltsThis vehicle is equipped with three-point seat
belts for the driver and passengers. Always
wear the seat belts properly while riding in the
vehicle. See page 7-5 for more information.

EBU31512Storage compartmentsThe storage compartments are located under
the multi-function meter, under the driver
seat, under the front passenger seats, and
under the rear right passenger seat. To ac-
cess an under-seat storage compartment, re-
move the seat cushion (see page 4-15).1. Unlock.

Passenger requirements
This vehicle is designed for the operator and
five passengers. Allowing passengers to ride
improperly can lead to serious injury or death.
As the operator, you are responsible for your
passengers.
Your passengers must be able to place
both feet on the fl oorboard while seated
upright with their backs against the back-
rests.
Your passengers must be able to reach and
hold the passenger handhold.
Allow only five passengers in the vehicle
and only in the designated passenger
seats. Do not carry any other passengers.
Do not carry passengers in the cargo bed.
Do not allow someone to ride as a passen-
ger who has been using drugs or alcohol.
Do not allow children who need child safety
seats or booster seats in the Viking VI. The
seat belt is not designed to restrain auto-
motive child safety seats. Occupant protection system

tection system. If you install aftermarket
products or have your vehicle modified,
you may put yourself and others at greater
risk of serious injury or death. You are re-
sponsible for any such changes to the ve-

3. Insert the pins into the holes and securethem with the wire loops. Make sure that
the handhold is properly secured before
riding. Seat and shoulder bolsters
The seats and shoulder bolsters are designed
to help keep you in the vehicle. Do not put
your hand or arm on or outside of the shoul-
der bolster during operation. Your hand or
arm may be struck by objects or crushed
against outside objects or the ground during

5. Rinse the vehicle off immediately withclean water and dry all surfaces with a
clean chamois towel or soft, absorbent
cloth.
6. Clean the seats with a vinyl upholstery
cleaner to keep the covers pliable and
glossy.
7. Automotive-type wax may be applied to
all painted and chrome-plated surfaces.
Avoid combination cleaner-waxes. Many
contain abrasives which may scratch the
paint or protective finish. When finished,
start the engine and let it idle for several
minutes.EBU32740StorageLong term storage (60 days or more) of your
vehicle will require some preventive proce-
dures to guard against deterioration. Make
any necessary repairs before storing the vehi-
cle. After thoroughly cleaning the vehicle, prepare
for storage as follows:
1. Fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel and add the specified amount of Yamaha Fuel
Stabilizer and Conditioner or equivalent
product. Operate the vehicle for at least 5
minutes to distribute treated fuel through
the fuel system.
2. Remove the spark plug, pour about one tablespoon of SAE 10W-40 or 20W-50
motor oil in the spark plug hole and install
the spark plug. Ground the spark plug
wire and turn the engine over several
times to coat the cylinder wall with oil.
3. Lubricate all control cables.
4. Block up the frame to raise all wheels off the ground.
Specified amount:1 oz of stabilizer to each gallon of fuel (or
7.5 ml of stabilizer to each liter of fuel)
