Exercise 2: Starting and stopping engine
Drill 1: Starting the engine
1. VX Deluxe/VX Cruiser/VX Limited: Press the unlock button 1 on the remote control
transmitter to deactivate the security system. (See the “Yamaha Security System” sec-
tion in the owner’s/operator’s manual for more information.)
VX: Skip to step 2. (Your watercraft is not equipped with Yamaha Security System.)
2. Attach the engine shut-off cord 2 to your wrist. Insert the clip 3, under the engine shut-
off switch 4. Make sure to keep the engine shut-off cord free from the handlebars so the
engine stops if the operator falls off. The clip may not pull free if the cord is wrapped
around the handlebars.
3. Push the start switch 5 (green button).
(Do not squeeze either the throttle lever or RiDE lever. Otherwise, the engine will not
start.)
4. Release the start switch as soon as the engine starts to run.

Punto 1: Arranque del motor
1. VX Deluxe/VX Cruiser/VX Limited: Pulse el boton de desbloqueo 1 del transmisor de
control remoto para desactivar el sistema de seguridad. (Para mas informacion, ver el
apartado “Sistema de seguridad Yamaha” en el manual del propietario/piloto).
VX: Pase al punto 2. (Su moto de agua no está equipada con el sistema de seguridad

2. Afirme el cordón de hombre al agua 2 en su muñeca. Inserte la pinza 3 situada debajo
del interruptor de paro de emergencia del motor 4. Mantenga el cordón de hombre al
agua alejado del manillar, de forma que el motor se pare en caso de que usted se caiga.
La pinza no podrá soltarse si el cordón está enredado en el manillar.
3. Pulse el interruptor de arranque 5 (botón verde).
(No apriete la manilla del acelerador ni la manilla RiDE. Si lo hace, el motor no arranca-
rá.)
4. Suelte el interruptor de arranque tan pronto como el motor se ponga en marcha.

1. VX Deluxe/VX Cruiser/VX Limited: Premir o botao de desbloqueio 1 no transmissor de controlo
remoto para desactivar o sistema de seguranca. (Consultar a seccao “Sistema de Seguranca
Yamaha” no manual do proprietario/operador para obter mais informacoes.)
VX: Avance para o passo 2. (O seu veículo aquático não está equipado com o Sistema de Segu-
rança Yamaha.)
2. Fixar o cabo de paragem de emergência do motor 2 ao pulso. Introduzir a chave de segurança 3,
sob o interruptor de paragem de emergência do motor 4. Manter o cabo de paragem de emergên-
cia livre do guiador, de modo a permitir a paragem do motor, em caso de queda do operador à
água. A chave de segurança pode não sair prontamente do interruptor de paragem de emergência
se o cabo estiver enrolado no guiador.
3. Premir o interruptor de arranque 5 (botão verde).
(Não aperte o comando do acelerador nem o comando RiDE. Caso contrário, o motor não arran-
cará.)
4. Libertar o interruptor, logo após o arranque do motor.
