8Never operate an ATV in fast flowing water or
in water deeper than that recommended in
this manual. Remember that wet brakes may
have reduced stopping ability. Test your
brakes after leaving water. If necessary, apply
them several times to let friction dry out the
linings.

Tires
Always use the recommended tires.

Use of improper tires on this ATV, or opera-
tion of this ATV with improper or uneven tire
pressure, may cause loss of control, increas-
ing your risk of accident.
Pay attention to the following.
1. The tires listed below have been
approved by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. for
this model. Other tire combinations are
not recommended.
2. The tires should be set to the recom-
mended pressure:

Front 20 kPa (0.20 kgf/cm
2, 0.20 bar)
Rear 20 kPa (0.20 kgf/cm2, 0.20 bar)

Always use the size and type tires specified
in the Owner’s Manual for this vehicle on
pages 5-19–5-21. Always maintain proper tire
pressure as described in the Owner’s Manual
on page 5-23. Use of improper tires on this

Do not operate at speeds too fast for your
skills or the conditions.

terrain, visibility and operating conditions,
and your experience. Operating this ATV at
speeds too fast for your skills or the condi-
tions. increases your chances of losing con-
trol of the ATV, which can result in an acci-
dent.

2. Retirer le couvercle du boîtier de filtre à air en
décrochant les attaches.
3. Retirer l’élément du filtre à air après avoir relevé
l’attache.
4. Nettoyer l’élément du filtre à air à fond dans un
dissolvant, en veillant toutefois à ne pas l’abîmer.

Nettoyer l’élément du filtre à air à l’aide d’un
dissolvant destiné au nettoyage de pièces. Ne
jamais nettoyer l’élément du filtre à air avec
un dissolvant à point d’inflammation bas ou
avec de l’essence, car le moteur risquerait de
prendre feu ou d’exploser.
5. Presser avec soin l’élément afin d’éliminer
le dissolvant, puis le laisser sécher.

Comprimer l’élément tout en veillant à ne pas
le tordre.
6. Contrôler l’élément de filtre à air. En cas
d’endommagement, remplacer.
7. Appliquer de l’huile Yamaha pour élément de
filtre à air en mousse ou tout autre huile de quali-
té équivalente. Si ce type d’huile n’est pas dispo-
nible, utiliser de l’huile de moteur SAE10W30.
2. Desenganche las sujeciones y extraiga la
cubierta de la caja del filtro de aire.
3. Desenganche la sujeción y extraiga el ele-
mento del filtro de aire.
4. Lave el elemento del filtro de aire con cui-
dado, pero a fondo, en disolvente.

Limpie siempre el elemento del filtro de aire
con disolvente para la limpieza de piezas.
Nunca utilice disolventes de bajo punto de
inflamación o gasolina para limpiar el ele-
mento del filtro de aire, ya que el motor
podrÃa incendiarse o explotar.
5. Exprima el elemento del filtro de aire para que
escurra el exceso de disolvente y déjelo secar.

No retuerza el elemento del filtro de aire al
exprimirlo.
6. Inspeccione el elemento del filtro de aire.
Si está dañado, sustitúyalo.
7. Aplique al elemento del filtro de aire aceite
para filtros de aire de espuma Yamaha u
otro aceite para filtros de aire de espuma
que sea de calidad. Si no dispone de acei-
te para filtros de aire de espuma, podrá uti-
lizar aceite de motor SAE10W30.
