5. GASOLINE IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE.
Always turn off the engine while refuel-
ing. Take care to not spill any gasoline
on the engine or exhaust system.
Never refuel in the vicinity of an open
flame, or while smoking.
6. GASOLINE CAN CAUSE INJURY.
If you should swallow some gasoline,
inhale excess gasoline vapors, or allow
any gasoline to get into your eyes, con-
tact a doctor immediately. If any gaso-
line spills onto your skin or clothing,
immediately wash skin areas with soap
and water, and change your clothes.
7. ONLY OPERATE THE MACHINE IN AN
AREA WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION.
Never start the engine or let it run for
any length of time in an enclosed area.
Exhaust fumes are poisonous. These
fumes contain carbon monoxide, which
by itself is odorless and colorless.
Carbon monoxide is a dangerous gas
which can cause unconsciousness or
can be lethal.
8. PARK THE MACHINE CAREFULLY;
TURN OFF THE ENGINE.
Always turn off the engine if you are
going to leave the machine. Do not
park the machine on a slope or soft
ground as it may fall over.
9. PROPERLY SECURE THE MACHINE
BEFORE TRANSPORTING IT.
When transporting the machine in an-
other vehicle, always be sure it is prop-
erly secured and in an upright position
and that the fuel cock is in the “OFF”
position. Otherwise, fuel may leak out
of the carburetor or fuel tank.

gés. Tous les plans de joint, toutes
les lèvres de bague d’étanchéité et
les joints toriques doivent être net-
toyés.
2. Lors du remontage, huiler correc-
tement toutes les pièces accouplées
et tous les roulements. Graisser les
lèvres de bagues d’étanchéité.
RONDELLES-FREIN, FREINS
D’ECROU ET GOUPILLES
FENDUES
1. Rondelles-frein, freins d’écrou 1
et goupilles fendues ne doivent
jamais être réutilisés. Les onglets
de blocage doivent être dressés
contre les faces de boulon ou
d’écrou une fois que les boulons et
écrous ont été correctement serrés.
ROULEMENTS ET BAGUES
D’ETANCHEITE
1. Monter les roulements 1et les
bagues d’étanchéité 2avec leurs
marques ou numéros de fabricant
dirigés vers l’extérieur. (Autre-
ment dit, les lettres poinçonnées
doivent être sur le côté visible.)
Lors de la mise en place des
bagues d’étanchéité, appliquer une
légère couche de graisse fluide à
base de lithium sur leurs lèvres.
Lors de la mise en place des roule-
ments, les builer généreusement.

Ne pas sécher les roulements à l’air
comprimé. Cela endommagerait les
surfaces de roulement.

O-RINGE
1. Beim überholen des Motors sind
alle Dichtungen, Wellendichtringe
und O-Ringe zu erneuern. Alle mit
den Dichtunge, Wellendichtringen
und O-Ringen in Kontakt befindli-
chen Flächen müssen gereinigt
werden.
2. Bei der Montage sind alle beweg-
lichen Teile und Lager mit Öl zu
schmieren. Auf den Dichtlipen
der Wellendichtringe ist Fett auf-
zutragen.
SICHERUNGSSCHEIBEN/BLECHE
UND SPLINTE
1. Alle Sicherungsscheiben/Bleche
1und Splinte müssen nach ein-
maliger Verwendung unbedingt
durch neue ersetzt werden.
Sicherungslaschen müssen an
die Schlüsselfläche(n) von
Schrauben bzw. Muttern
gedrückt werden, wenn diese
vorher mit dem vorgeschribenen
Anzugsmoment festgezogen wur-
den.
LAGER UND ÖLDICHTUNGEN
1. Lager 1und Öldichtungen 2so
einbauen, daß das Zeichen des
Herstellers oder die Herstellungs-
nummer nach außen gerichtet ist
(die eingeschlagenen Buchsta-
ben müssen sichtbar sein). Wenn
Öldichtungen eingebaut werden,
sind die Öldichtlippen mit Lithi-
umfett zu bestreichten. Beim Ein-
bau die Lager freizügig mit Öl
schmieren.

Niemals die Lager mit Druckluft
trocknen. Dadurch könnte die
Oberfläche der Lager beschädigt
werden.

GUARNIZIONI, PARAOLIO E
ANELLI DI TENUTA
1. Quando un motore viene revisio-
nato, si dovrebbero sostituire tutte
le guarnizioni, i paraolio e gli anel-
li di tenuta. Si devono pulire tutte
le superfici delle guarnizioni, i lab-
bri dei paraolio e gli anelli di tenu-
ta.
2. Oliare adeguatamente tutte le parti
accoppiate e i cuscinetti durante il
rimontaggio. Applicare grasso sui
labbri dei paraolio.

1. Tutte le rosette/piastre di sicurezza
1e le coppiglie devono essere
sostituite quando vengono tolte.
Le linguette di bloccaggio dovreb-
bero essere piegate lungo la parte
piatta del bullone o del dado dopo
avere serrato correttamente il bul-
lone o il dado.

CUSCINETTI E PARAOLIO
1. Installare il/i cuscinetto/i 1e il/i
paraolio 2con i marchi o i nume-
ri del costruttore rivolti verso
l’esterno. (In altri termini, le lette-
re stampigliate devono essere sul
lato esposto alla vista.) Quando si
installano i paraolio, applicare un
leggero rivestimento di grasso leg-
gero a base di litio sul/i labbro/i
del paraolio. Oliare abbondante-
mente i cuscinetti quando li si
installa.

Non usare aria compressa per far
ruotare i cuscinetti fino ad asciugarli.
Questo provoca danni alle superfici
del cuscinetto.

Selecting the rotor
If you feel the engine pick up faster depending
on the course condition, you can control it by
changing the rotor to the one with a greater iner-
tial mass.
* Inertial mass: The inertial mass of the body is
proportional to its weight and increases in pro-
portion to the square of the distance between its
rotation center and center of gravity. For the
same weight, a greater distance from its rota-
tion center produces greater inertial mass.
Greater initial mass gives a feeling of greater
torque in response to engine revolutions but is
accompanied by greater pick up resistance.
Engine characteristics are shown below in rela-
tion to each rotor:
9Standard rotor
Engine pickup is faster in the entire engine
speed range.
Pickup is fast at an extremely low engine
speed.
9Optional rotor
A feeling of torque is obtained at high engine
speed.
A broader power band is felt from mid speed to
over revs.
NOTE:
9Engine pick up differs according to the course
condition, rider, the settings, etc. Select a suit-
able rotor by comparing it with the standard
one in operation.
9It is difficult to be advantageous under all
course conditions with a change in the rotor.
Measure the lap times in accordance with race
points and select a rotor to produce a good
entire balance.
