Out of specification → Replace the piston
and rings as a set.
NOTE:
Clean carbon from the piston ring grooves and
rings before measuring the side clearance.

der. Push the ring with the piston crown so that

den Zylinder einschieben. Den Kol-
benring mit dem Kolbenboden in die

sitzt.

manufacturer’s marks or numbers are
located on the upper side of the rings.
Lubricate the piston and piston rings liberally
with engine oil. Measurement steps:

Be sure that the arrow mark a on the piston
points to the exhaust side of the engine.
Before installing the piston pin clip, cover the
crankcase with a clean rag to prevent the
piston pin clip from falling into the crankcase.
Install the piston pin clips with their ends fac-
ing downward.

zen-Sicherungsringes das Kurbel-
gehäuse mit einem sauberen Tuch
abdekken, damit der Sicherungs-
ring nicht hineinfallen kann.
Die Kolbenbolzen-Sicherungs-
ringe so einbauen, dass deren
Enden nach unten gerichtet sind.

Prima di installare il fermo dello spi-
notto, coprire il carter con un panno
pulito per evitare che il fermo cada nel
carter.
Installare i fermi spinotto con le estre-
mità rivolte verso il basso.

Pass the timing chain 3 through the tim-

Kolbenringe zusammendrücken.
ACHTUNG:
Die Steuerkette 3 durch den
Steuerkettenschacht führen.
Darauf achten, dass die Steuer-
kettenschiene 4 nicht beschä-
digt wird!
4. Montieren:

zione 3 attraverso la relativa
cavità.
Fare attenzione a non danneggiare
la guida della catena di distribu-
zione 4 durante l’installazione.
