To see the inf lation pressures of all
f our tires, press the SEL/RESET
buttononthesteeringwheel.The
display changes as shown above.Each tire pressure is shown in PSI
(U.S. models) or in kPa (Canadian
models).
Each tire has its own pressure
sensor. If the air pressure of a tire
becomes signif icantly low, the
sensor in that tire immediately sends
a signal that causes the low tire
pressure indicator in the instrument
panel to come on. If this happens,
you will see which tire is losing
pressure on the multi-inf ormation
display along with a ‘‘CHECK TIRE
PRESSURE’’ message.

If there is a problem with the TPMS,
thetirepressuremonitorshowsa
‘‘SYSTEM FUNCTION ERROR’’
message and the tire pressure
readings are not displayed. If this
happens, you will first see a system
warning message ‘‘CHECK TPMS
SYSTEM’’ on the multi-information
display. If
there is a problem with the TPMS,
youwillseetheabovemessageon
the multi-information display.
When the low tire pressure indicator
is on, the system may not be able to
detect or signal low tire pressure as
intended. TPMS malfunctions may
occur for a variety of reasons,
including the installation of
replacement or alternate tires or
wheels on the vehicle that prevent the
TPMS from functioning properl y.
Always check the low tire pressure
indicator after replacing one or more
tires or wheels on your vehicle to
ensure that the replacement or
alternate tires and wheels allow the
TPMS to continue to function
properly.
When you restart the vehicle with
thecompactsparetire,theTPMS
system message may also be
displayed on the multi-information
display after driving several miles
(kilometers).
If you have a flat tire, the low tire
pressure and tire monitor indicators
will come on. Replace the indicated
flat tire with the compact spare tire
(see page ). 313

Each wheel is equipped with a tire
pressure sensor mounted inside the
tire behind the valve stem. You must
use TPMS specif ic wheels. It is
recommended that you always have
your tires serviced by your dealer or
a qualif ied technician.
Af ter you replace the f lat tire, the
low tire pressure indicator stays on.
This is normal; the system is not
monitoring the spare tire pressure.
Manually check the spare tire
pressure to be sure it is correct.Your vehicle is not designed to tow a
trailer; attempting to do so can void
your warranties.
Never use a puncture-repairing agent
in a f lat tire. If used, you will have to
replace the tire pressure sensor.

To eliminate potential hazards, read

and make sure you have the tools

on level ground, the parking brake
is set, and the engine is of f .
To clean parts, use a commercially
available degreaser or parts
cleaner, not gasoline.
To reduce the possibility of f ire or
explosion, keep cigarettes, sparks,
and flames away from the battery
and all f uel-related parts. Wear eye protection and
protective clothing when working
with the battery or compressed air.
Be sure there is
adequate ventilation whenever you
operate the engine.
Let the
engine and exhaust system cool
down bef ore touching any parts. Do
not run the engine unless
instructed to do so.

Your vehicle displays engine oil life
and maintenance service items on
the multi-information display to show
youwhenyoushouldhaveyour
dealer perform engine oil
replacement and indicated
maintenance service.
Based on the engine operating
conditions and accumulated engine
revolutions, the onboard computer in
your vehicle calculates the remaining
engine oil life and displays it as a
percentage. To see the current engine oil life,
turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position, then push and release
the INFO ( / ) button repeatedly
until the engine oil lif e appears (see
page ). The remaining engine oil lif e is
displayed on the multi-information
display according to this table:

Iftheoillifeis15to6percent,you
will see the message ‘‘SERVICE
DUE SOON’’ along with all
maintenance items that are needed
at oil change time (see page ).When
the remaining engine oil life is
5 to 1 percent, you will see the
message ‘‘SERVICE DUE NOW’’
with the same maintenance items
you saw when ‘‘SERVICE DUE
SOON’’ was displayed. When you
see this message, have the indicated
maintenance performed as soon as
possible. If
you still do not perform the
indicated maintenance, you will see
the message ‘‘SERVICE PAST DUE’’
on the display. Immediately have the
service perf ormed, and make sure to
reset the display (see page ). 275

the information display are in code.
For an explanation of these
maintenance codes, see page .Your dealer will reset the display
af ter completing the required
maintenance service. You will see
‘‘OIL LIFE 100%’’ on the display the
next time you turn the ignition
switch to the ON (II) position.
If maintenance service is done by
someone other than your dealer,
reset the maintenance minder as
f ollows:
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position.
Press the INFO ( / ) button
repeatedly until the engine oil lif e
is displayed. Press and hold the SEL/RESET
button f or 10 seconds. The multi-
inf ormation display will ask f or a
conf irmation.
If you are sure you want to reset
the display, press the SEL/
RESET button to select ‘‘OK.’’
If you do not want to reset the
display, press the INFO ( / )
button to select ‘‘Cancel.’’

If you have the required service
done but do not reset the display, or
reset the display without doing the
service, the system will not show the
proper maintenance intervals. This
canleadtoseriousmechanical
problems because you will no longer
have an accurate record of when
maintenance is needed.
Your authorized Acura dealer knows
your vehicle best and can provide
competent, ef f icient service.However, service at a dealer is not
mandatory to keep your warranties
in effect. Maintenance may be done
by any qualif ied service f acility or
person who is skilled in this type of
automotive service. Make sure to
have the service f acility or person
reset the display as previously
described. Keep all receipts as proof
of completion, and have the person
who does the work fill out the
maintenance record. Check your
warranty booklet f or more
inf ormation.
We recommend using Acura parts
and fluids whenever you have
maintenance done. These are
manuf actured to the same high-
quality standards as the original
components, so you can be conf ident
