Install the iPod or iPhone dock
connector or the USB flash drive to
the USB port.1 USB Port

vehicle. Direct sunlight and high temperatures may
damage it.

hub.
•Do not use a device such as a card reader or hard
disc drive, as the device or your files may be
damaged.
•We recommend backing up yo ur data before using
the device in your vehicle.
•Displayed messages may vary depending on the
device model and software version.
If the audio system does not recognize the iPod, try
reconnecting it a few times or reboot the device. To
reboot, follow the manufac turer’s instructions
provided with the iPod or visit www.apple.com/ipod.

• : Tune the radio frequency. Select and hold to search that station on preset
screen.
• : Search up and down the selected band for a station with a strong signal.
• More : Display the menu items.

second sample. Select Stop Scan to stop scanning and play the current selection.
■ Preset Memory
To store a station:
1. Tune to the selected station on preset screen.
2. Select and hold a desired number you want to store the station.
To listen to a stored station, select the station number.

• Tag Song *: Displays the TAG information save d to the audio system when an HD
RadioTM station is selected.
• Tagged Song List *: You can store the TAG information in the connected iPod/
iPhone. If the iPod/iPhone is not connected to the audio system, the information
is stored in the audio unit temporarily, then once the device is connected to the
system, data is transferred to the iPod/iPhone.
• HD Subchannel*: Displays the subchannel list when an HD Radio
TM station is
selected.

If you want to have the information on the song
played from the HD Radio
TM station, select TAG in On
Demand Multi-Use DisplayTM or select Tag Song in
the menu with Interface dial.
If iPod/iPhone is connected, the tag is transferred to
the connected device immedi ately, otherwise the tag
will be transferre d when the device will be connected
and select Tag Song in the menu with Interface dial.

“Music Search ” to activate the
SBV feature for the HDD and iPod.
3. Say a command.
u Example 1: Say “ (List) ‘Artist
A’ “ to view a list of songs by

song to start playing.
u Example 2: Say “ Play ‘Artist A’“
to start playing songs by that

4. To cancel SBV, press the

stored on the HDD or iPod.
You can add phonetic modi fications of difficult
words so that it is easier for SBV to recognize artists,
songs, albums, and composers in voice commands. 2 Phonetic Modification P. 199
SBV may not be able to recognize languages other
than English for the artist name, song title, album
title, and composers.
Once you have canceled this mode, you need to press
the button and say “Music Search ” again to re-
activate this mode.
