tyre low pressure control warning lightswitches on constantly, the inflation
pressure must be adjusted until it
reaches the pressure prescribed for
cold tyres. After the automatic update
of the system, the tyre pressure control
warning light switches off. You may
need to drive the car for about 20
minutes at a speed higher than 20 km/h
to allow the TPMS to receive this
information.
NOTE
The TPMS does not replace the
normal tyre maintenance service and
does not indicate any fault in a tyre.
Therefore, the TPMS should not be
used as pressure switch while adjusting
the tyre inflation pressure.
Driving with insufficient tyre pressure
causes their overheating and can result
in tyre failure. The low inflation pressure
reduces fuel efficiency and tyre tread life
and may also affect handling and
braking performance of the car.
The TPMS does not replace the
correct tyre maintenance. It is up to the
driver to maintain the correct tyre
pressure level measuring it with a
suitable pressure switch. This is
necessary even if the decrease in the
inflation pressure value does not cause
the tyre pressure control warning light
to switch on.
The TPMS warns the driver of any
condition of insufficient tyre pressure Ifthis drops below the insufficient
pressure limit for any reason including
low temperature and normal pressure
loss of the tyre.
The seasonal temperature changes
affect tyre pressure.
The TPMS uses wireless devices with
electronic sensors mounted on the
wheel rims to constantly monitor the
value of tyre pressure. The sensors
mounted on each wheel as part of the
valve stem transmit various information
of the tyres to the receiver module, in
order to calculate the pressure.
IMPORTANT Monitoring and
maintaining the correct pressure in all
four tyres are particularly important.

The system warns the driver if one or
more tyres are flat by the dedicated
warning light
continuously on in the
instrument panel and by displaying
dedicated messages. In this case, stop the car as soon as
possible, check the inflation pressure of
each tyre and inflate to the cold tyre
pressure value prescribed for the car.
The system will automatically update
and after receiving the tyre pressure
update the tyre pressure control
warning light switches off. You may
need to drive the car for about 20
minutes at a speed higher than 20 km/h
to allow the system to receive this
information.TPMS operation faults
The system fault is indicated by the
dedicated warning lightwhich first
flashes for 75 seconds and then stays
on steadily. This can occur in any of the
following situations:
interference caused by electronic
devices or radio frequency emissions
similar to those of the TPM sensors.

KNOWING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL
PRETENSIONERS
The car is equipped with seat belt
pretensioners, which draw back the
seat belts by several centimetres in the
event of a strong frontal impact. This
guarantees the perfect adherence of
the seat belts to the occupant's bodies
before the retention action begins.
It is evident that the pretensioners have
operated when the belt withdraws
toward the retractor.
This car is also equipped with a second
pretensioner (in the kick plate area). Its
activation is signalled by the shortening
of the metal cable.
A slight discharge of smoke may be
produced during the activation of the
pretensioner which is not in harmful and
does not involve any fire hazard.
IMPORTANT To obtain the highest
degree of protection from the action of
the pretensioner, wear the seat belt
tight to the chest and pelvis.
The pretensioner does not require any
maintenance or lubrication: any
changes to its original conditions will
invalidate its efficiency. If, due to
unusual natural events (floods, sea
storms, etc.), the device has been
affected by water and/or mud, contact
the dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership to
have it replaced.
LOAD LIMITERS
To increase protection, the seat belt
retractors contain a device which
controls the force acting on the chest
and shoulders during the belt
restraining action in the event of an
accident.
WARNING
68)The pretensioner may be used only
once. After its activation, contact an Alfa
Romeo Dealership to have it replaced.
69)Removing or tampering with seat belt
and pretensioner components is strictly
prohibited. Any intervention on these
components must be performed by
qualified and authorised technicians.
Always contact a dedicated Alfa Romeo
Dealership.
IMPORTANT
7)Operations which lead to impacts,
vibrations or localised heating (over 100°C
for a maximum of six hours) in the area
around the pretensioner may cause
damage or make it deploy. Contact the
dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership if there is
the need to operate on those components.
CARRYING
CHILDREN SAFELY
Alfa Romeo 4C is a sporty car that can
be driven in town every day, provided
its driver and passengers fasten their
seat belts. Carrying a child on the
passenger's seat is also allowed,
provided the child weighs more than
9 kg and a suitable child restraint
system is used.
Children must be suitably restrained
inside the vehicle according to their
weight. Several child restraint system
types are available; always choose the
one most suitable for the child:
70)
When over 1.50 m in height, from the
point of view of restraint systems,
children are considered as adults and
have to wear the standard seat belts.
All child restraint devices must bear the
certification data, together with the
control mark, on a label solidly fixed to
the seat which must never be removed.
Child restraint systems are available
from Lineaccessori Alfa Romeo. These
products have been designed and
tested specifically for Alfa Romeo
vehicles.

SAFETY
68)69)
7)
WARNING
92)Indicate the presence of the stationary
car in accordance with current regulations:
hazard warning lights, warning triangle, etc.
Those on board should get out of the
vehicle and wait for the wheel to be
repaired away from the threat posed by the
traffic. If parked on a slope or rough
surface, chock the wheels with wedges or
other suitable devices (for the correct
procedure for parking the car safely, refer
to the "Parking" paragraph in the "Starting
and driving" chapter).
93)Give the booklet to the technicians who
will be handling the tyre that was treated
using the "Fix&Go Automatic" kit.
94)A repair is not possible if the wheel rim
is damaged (groove is deformed, causing
air to escape). Do not remove foreign
bodies (screws or nails) from the tyre.95)Never operate the compressor for
longer than 20 consecutive minutes. Risk
of overheating. The kit is not suitable for
definitive repairs, so the repaired tyres may
only be used temporarily.
96)As required by current regulations, the
information on chemical substances for the
protection of human health and the
environment and on the safe use of the
sealing fluid are on the packaging label.
Compliance with the indications on the
label is an essential condition to ensure the
safety and the effectiveness of the product.
Remember to carefully read the label
before use; the user of the product is
responsible for any damages caused by
improper use. The sealing fluid has an
expiry date. Replace the bottle if the
sealant has expired.
97)Wear the protective gloves provided
with the kit.
98)Apply the adhesive label where it can
be easily seen by the driver as a reminder
that the tyre has been treated with the
quick repair kit. Drive carefully, especially
on corners. Do not exceed 80 km/h. Avoid
sudden acceleration or braking.
99)If the pressure has fallen below 1.8 bar,
do not drive any further: the Fix&Go
Automatic quick tyre repair kit cannot
guarantee the correct hold because the
tyre is too damaged. Contact a dedicated
Alfa Romeo Dealership.
100)Always indicate that the tyre was
repaired using the quick tyre repair kit. Give
the leaflet to the personnel charged with
handling the tyre treated with the tyre
repair kit.
IMPORTANT
13)In the event of a puncture caused by
foreign bodies, the kit may be used to
repair tyres showing damage on the tread
or shoulder up to max. 4 mm diameter. Do
not use the repair kit if the tyre was
damaged as a result of being used when
underinflated.
IMPORTANT
2)Dispose of the bottle and the sealant
liquid properly. Have them disposed of in
compliance with national and local
regulations.
