Release the switch, and turn the
ignition switch to the
ACCESSORY (I) position within 5
seconds. Pushandholdtherearof the
master door lock switch on the
driver’s door. You will hear a
clicking sound, and af ter about 5
seconds, you will hear another
clicking sound. Pushandholdtherearof the
master door lock switch on the
driver’s door. You will hear a
clicking sound. Continue to hold
down the switch:
Until you hear one click (af ter
about 5 seconds) to activate the
driver’s door unlock f eature.
Release the switch, and turn the
ignition switch to the
ACCESSORY (I) position within 5
seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position. Make sure the shif t lever is in
Park (P), and close the driver’s
door. Or, until you hear a second click
(af ter about 10 seconds) to
activate the all doors and
tailgate unlock feature.

The tailgate will lock or unlock when
you lock or unlock the driver’s door
by using the key, the lock tab on the
driver’s door, the master door lock
switch, or the remote transmitter.
To open the tailgate, press and hold
the switch, then lift up. To
close the tailgate, hold the
tailgate handle, lower the tailgate,
then press down on the back edge.
Keep the tailgate closed at all times
while driving to avoid damaging the
tailgate and to prevent exhaust gas
f rom getting into the interior. See on page
.

If the power door lock system cannot
unlock the tailgate, unlock it
manually.
Use a small flat-tip screwdriver to
remove the cover on the back of the
tailgate.Pushandholdthereleaseleverto
the right as shown, then push the
tailgate to open it.If you need to unlock the tailgate
manually, it means there is a
problem with the tailgate. Have the
vehicle checked by your dealer.

When you press the UNLOCK
button, the ceiling lights (if the front
and rear ceiling light switches are in
the door activated position) will
come on. If you do not open any door,
the lights stay on for about 30
seconds, then fade out. If you relock
the doors with the remote
transmitter before 30 seconds have
el ap sed, the lights go off
immediately.
You can change the ‘‘INTERIOR
LIGHT DIMMING TIME’’ setting in
the multi-information display (see
page ).
Press
this button once to
lock all doors and the tailgate. Some
exterior lights will flash once. When
you push LOCK twice within 5
seconds, you will hear a beep to
verify that the security system has
set. You cannot lock the doors and
thetailgateifanydoororthetailgate
is not fully closed or the key is in the
ignition switch. Press
this button once
to unlock the driver’s door. Push it
twice to unlock the remaining doors
and the tailgate. Some exterior lights
will flash twice each time you press
the button.
You can change the ‘‘KEYLESS
LOCK ACKNOWLEDGMENT’’
setting in the multi-information
display (see page ).

If
you unlock the doors and the
tailgate with the remote transmitter,
but do not open any of the doors or
thetailgatewithin30seconds,the
doors and the tailgate automatically
relock and the security system sets. Protect
the transmitter from
extreme temperature.
Do not immerse the transmitter in
any liquid.
If you lose a transmitter, the
replacement needs to be
reprogrammed by your dealer.
Avoid
dropping or thro wing the
transmitter.
You can change the ‘‘SECURITY
RELOCK TIMER’’ setting in the
multi-inf ormation display (see page ).

the horn will sound, and the exterior

If it takes several pushes on the
button to lock or unlock the doors
and the tailgate, replace the battery
as soon as possible.
Battery type: CR1616To replace the battery:Remove the screw at the base of
the transmitter with a small
Phillips-head screwdriver.
Separate the keypad from the
transmitter by pushing any button
f rom outside. Place a cloth on the edge of the
keypad, and remove the upper half
by caref ully prying on the edge
with a small f lat-tip screwdriver.

The controls for the power
adjustable driver’s seat are on the
outside edge of the seat bottom. You
can adjust the seat with the ignition
switch in any position. Make all seat
adjustments before you start driving.
Increases or
decreases the
lumbar support.
Moves
the front
of the seat up or
down. Adjusts
the seat-
back angle
forward or
backward. Moves the whole
seat up and
fo rward, or down
and backward.
The front of the
seat also tilts up
or down at the
same time.

To adjust the seat forward or
backward, pull up on the bar under
the seat cushion’s front edge. Move
the seat to the desi red position, and
releasethebar.Trytomovetheseat
to make sure it is locked in position. To
change the seat-back angle, pull
up on the lever on the outside of the
seat bottom.
Make
all seat adjustm ents before
you start driving.
Once your seat is adjusted correctly,
rock it back and forth to make sure
the seat is locked in position.

Your vehicle is equipped with head
restraints in all seating positions to
help protect you and your
passengers f rom whiplash and other
injuries.
Theyaremosteffectivewhenyou
adjust them so the back of the
occupant’s head rests against the
center of the restraint.
To remove a head restraint f or
cleaning or repair, pull it up as f ar as
it will go. Push the release button,
then pull the restraint out of the seat-
back.
Make sure the removed head
restraints are securely stored.
The f ront and rear head restraints
adjust f or height. You need both
hands to adjust the restraint. Do not
attempt to adjust it while driving. To
raise it, pull upward. To lower the
restraint, push the release button
and push the restraint down.
