DTC Indicatio n
NOTE: Thi s operatio n ca n als o b e don e wit h th e Hond a PG M Tester .
1 . Connec t th e SC S servic e connecto r t o th e servic e chec k connecto r (2P ) unde r th e glov e box .
2. Tur n th e ignitio n switc h O N (II) .
3. Th e AB S indicato r come s o n fo r abou t 2 second s an d goe s off . The n it wil l indicat e th e DTC .
NOTE :
• I f th e DT C is no t memorized , th e AB S indicato r wil l g o of f fo r 3. 6 seconds , an d the n com e bac k on .
• I f th e AB S indicato r stay s on , troubleshoo t fo r AB S indicato r doe s no t g o of f (se e pag e 19-213 ).
4 . Tur n th e ignitio n switc h OFF , an d remov e th e SC S servic e connector .
NOTE: Th e Malfunctio n Indicato r Lam p (MIL ) wil l sta y o n afte r th e engin e is starte d if th e SC S servic e connecto r i s con -
nected .
Condition s fo r DT C indication :
Vehicle spee d is 6 mp h (1 0 km/h ) o r less .
Th e SC S servic e connecto r i s connecte d befor e th e ignitio n switc h is turne d O N (II) .
Th e brak e peda l i s released .

2 . Pus h th e VS A of f switch , an d hol d it , the n tur n th e ignitio n switc h O N (II) .
3 . Hol d th e VS A of f switc h fo r 3 to 5 seconds , the n releas e th e VS A of f switch .
4 . Afte r 3 seconds , th e VS A activatio n indicato r blink s 4 times . I t mean s tha t th e DT C is cleared .
5 . I f th e VS A activatio n indicato r stay s on , replac e th e VS A modulator-contro l unit .

Troubleshooting

Brake System Indicator Does Not Go Off

Check the ABS:

1. Turn the ignition switch.

2. Check the ABS indicator.

Does the ABS indicator stay on?
Perform the troubleshooting for

the
DTC.

Release the parking brake.

Does the brake system indica-

tor go off?
The system is OK at this time.

Check the brake fluid level.

Is the level OK?
Refill the brake fluid, then confirm

that the brake system indicator

goes off.

Check the VSA control unit:

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect the VSA control

unit 42P connector.

3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

Does the brake system indica-

tor go off?
Replace the VSA modulator-

control unit.

Repair short to body ground in

the wire between the brake

system indicator and the VSA

control unit.

The parking brake switch stuck

ON.

The brake fluid level switch
