How the mode is switched depends
on if the shif t lever is in Park or not.Each time you press the engine
start/stop button without pressing
the clutch pedal, the power mode
switches between VEHICLE OFF
(LOCK), ACCESSORY, and ON
modes. To change the mode f rom
ON to ACCESSORY, or
ACCESSORY to VEHICLE OFF
(LOCK), press the engine start/stop
button twice. If the keyless access system
main switch in the glove box is of f ,
make sure to insert the keyless
access remote into the keyless
access slot to turn on your vehicle’s
power mode. For more inf ormation,
ref er to page .
To remove the keyless access
remote from the slot, make sure the
power mode is VEHICLE OFF
(LOCK).
With the shift lever in Park, the
power mode changes f rom ON to
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK) when you
push the engine start/stop button.

You can start the engine in any
power mode.
To start the engine:Depress the brake pedal and press
the engine start/stop button. Move the shift lever to Park (P). Af ter you unlock and open the
driver’s door, you will see the ‘‘TO
START ENGINE:’’ message on the
multi-inf ormation display. The ‘‘TO
TURN ACCESSORY ON:’’ message
will be shown af ter three seconds.
The display switches between the
‘‘TO START ENGINE:’’ and ‘‘TO
TURN ACCESSORY ON:’’ messages
every three seconds.
Apply the parking brake.
Press the clutch pedal down all the
way.
The engine does not start unless
the clutch pedal is pressed.
Press the engine start/stop button.

To turn the vehicle off when the
vehicle is completely stopped:Shif t to park (P).
Press the engine start/stop button
with your f oot on the brake pedal.
If the shift lever is in neutral, press
the engine start/stop button. If the shif t lever is in any gear
other than neutral, depress the
clutch pedal, then press the engine
start/stop button.
The engine stops and the power
mode switches f rom ON to
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK).
Bef ore leaving the vehicle, make
sure it is of f . You can verif y if the
power is of f by checking the engine
start/stop button LED indicator.
Make sure to press the brake pedal
or set the parking brake bef ore
turning of f the engine. If your f oot is
OFF on the clutch pedal in any gear
position, pressing the engine start/
stop button turns of f the engine, and
thevehiclemaymoveforwardor
backward. You can only place the vehicle in the
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK) mode if the
transmission is in Park. You will see
the ‘‘SHIFT TO PARK’’ message on
the multi-information display if you
press the engine start/stop button to
turn the vehicle of f with the shif t
lever in any other position except f or
P(Park).

If the power mode is in ACCESSORY,

To insert the keyless access remote:
On all models

When you open the driver’s door,
and each time you press the engine
start/stop button, you will see the
‘‘INSERT KEYLESS REMOTE
INTO SLOT’’ message on the multi-
inf ormation display in the f ollowing
situations:When the keyless access system
main switch (see page ) is of f .
The multi-inf ormation display shows
the ‘‘ACCESSORY MODE’’ or ‘‘TO
UNLOCK KEYLESS REMOTE
TURN OFF POWER’’ message to
remind you to change the power
mode to VEHICLE OFF (LOCK).
The multi-inf ormation display shows
the ‘‘ACCESSORY MODE’’ message
to remind you that the power mode
is in ACCESSORY.
To avoid damaging the slot, do not
insert any other objects into the slot
or put a sticker on the keyless access
remote.
Inserting the remote does not charge
the remote battery. If necessary, you
should replace the battery as soon as
possible.
When the keyless access remote
system main switch in the glove box

unlocked when you insert it into the
keyless access remote slot and the

On models with navigation systemThe automatic climate control
system in your vehicle picks the
proper combination of air
conditioning, heating, and ventilation
to maintain the interior temperature
you select, and to remove moisture
from the air and make the interior
dry. The system also adjusts the f an
speed and airf low levels.The system automatically selects
the proper mix of conditioned
and/or heated air that will, as
quickly as possible, raise or lower
the interior temperature to your
pref erence. The system also
dehumidif ies the interior.
The driver’s side temperature and
the passenger’s side temperature can
be set separately. Push up the switch
of the appropriate temperature
control to increase the temperature
of airflow. Push down the switch to
decrease it. Each set temperature is
showninthedisplay(inthecenter
display on models with navigation
system).
Set the desired temperature with
the temperature control switch.
You can set the driver’s side
temperature and the passenger’s
side temperature separately. Press the Driver’s or Passenger’s
AUTO button. You will see AUTO
and the selected temperature on
the appropriate side of the display
(in the center display on models
with navigation system).
The climate control system f or your
vehicle can also be operated using
the voice control system. See the
navigation system manual f or
complete details.
When you unlock the doors with
your remote transmitter (keyless
access remote on models with
navigation system), the driver’s ID
(Driver 1 or Driver 2) is detected,
and the climate control settings are
turned to the respective mode
automatically with the ignition
switch in the ON (II) position, or the
power mode ON.

When the indicator in the button is
on, air f rom the vehicle’s interior is
sent through the system again.
When the indicator is off, air is
brought in f rom the outside of the
vehicle (fresh air mode).
Switch to recirculation mode when
driving through dusty or smoky
conditions, then return to fresh air
mode. Thesystemshouldbeleftinfresh
air mode under almost all conditions.
Keeping the system in recirculation
mode, particularly with the A/C of f ,
can cause the windows to fog up. The outside air intakes f or the
climate control system are at the
base of the windshield. Keep this
area clear of leaves and other debris.
You can manually select various
f unctions of the climate control
system when it is in f ully automatic
mode. All other f eatures remain
automatically controlled. Making any
manual selection causes the word
AUTO in the display to go out. When you turn the A/C off, the
system cannot regulate the inside
temperature if you set the
temperature control below the
outside temperature. This button turns the air
conditioningonandoff.Youwillsee
A/C ON or A/C OFF in the display
(in the center display on models with
navigation system).
Press the button to increase the
fanspeedandairflow.Pressthe button to decrease it.

error messages you may see in the
display while playing a disc.
If you see an error message in the
display while playing a disc, press
the eject button. After ejecting the
disc, check it for damage or
deformation. If there is no damage,
insert the disc again.
For additional information on
damaged discs, see page .
Theaudiosystemwilltrytoplaythe
disc. If there is still a problem, the
error message will reappear. Press
the eject button, and pull out the disc.
Insert a dif f erent disc. If the new
disc plays, there is a problem with
the f irst disc. If the error message
cycle repeats and you cannot clear it,

Most audio system f unctions can still
be controlled by standard buttons,
dials, and knobs, but some f unctions
can only be accessed using the
interf ace dial. The interf ace dial has
two parts, a dial and a selector.The dial turns lef t and right. Use it to
make selections or adjustments to a
list or menu on the screen.
The selector can be pushed lef t,
right, up, down, and in. Use the
selector to scroll through lists, to
select menus, and to highlight menu
items. When you make a selection,
push the center of the selector
(ENTER)togotothatselection.The audio system can also be
operated by voice control. See the
navigation system manual f or
complete details.
When you unlock the doors with
your remote and turn the audio
system on, the driver’s ID (Driver 1
or Driver 2) is detected, and the
radio presets and sound level
settings (see page ) are turned to
