Make sure the rear window is clear
and you have good visibility bef ore
starting to drive.
The def ogger and antenna wires on
the inside of the rear window can be
accidentally damaged. When
cleaning the glass, always wipe side
to side.
The rear window def ogger will clear
fog, frost, and thin ice from the
window. Push the def ogger button to
turn it on and of f . The indicator
above the button comes on to show
the def ogger is on. If you do not turn
it of f , the def ogger will shut itself of f
af ter about 35 minutes. It also shuts
of f when you turn of f the ignition
switch. You have to turn the
def ogger on again when you restart
the vehicle.
Push the button between the center
vents to turn on the hazard warning
lights (f our-way f lashers). This
causes all f our outside turn signal
lights and both turn signal indicators
in the instrument panel to flash. Use
the hazard warning lights if you need
to park in a dangerous area near
heavy traffic, or if your vehicle is

Each f ront door has a master door
lock switch. Either switch locks and
unlocks all doors. On the driver’s
door, push the top of the master
door lock switch to lock all doors.
Push the bottom to unlock them.
Each door has a lock tab on the top.
Push the tab down to lock the door
and pull it up to unlock. All doors can be locked f rom the
outsidebyusingthekeyinthe
driver’s door. To unlock only the
driver’s door or all doors (depending
on the ‘‘DOOR LOCK MODE’’
setting), insert the key, turn the key,
and release it. The remaining doors
unlock when you turn the key a
second time within a f ew seconds.

by using the key in the driver’s door
(see page ).
To lock the passenger’s door when
getting out of the vehicle, push the
lock tab down and close the door. To
lock the driver’s door, remove the
key f rom the ignition switch and
push the lock tab down or push the
top of the master switch, then close

doors (depending on the ‘‘DOOR
LOCK MODE’’ setting). Press it
twice to unlock the other doors.
Some exterior lights will f lash twice
each time you press the button.
The ceiling light (if the ceiling light
switch is in the Door Activated
position) will come on when you
press the UNLOCK button. If you do
not open any doors within 30
seconds (or whatever setting the
‘‘INTERIOR LIGHT DIMMING
TIME’’issetto),thelightfadesout.
If you relock the doors with the
remote transmitter before 30
seconds have elapsed, the light will
go of f immediately.
To change the ‘‘DOOR LOCK
MODE’’ setting, see page .
Press this button once to
lock all doors. Some exterior lights
will f lash. When you push LOCK
twice within 5 seconds, you will hear
a horn (depending on the ‘‘KEYLESS
LOCK ACKNOWLEDGEMENT’’
setting) to verify that the doors are
locked and the security system has
set. The Lock button will not work
this way if any door is not f ully closed.
When the key is in the ignition
switch, the f unctions of each button
are disabled. To change the ‘‘KEYLESS LOCK
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT’’ setting,
see page .
You can open and close all power
windows from outside the vehicle
with the key. With the remote
transmitter, you can open the
windows. Refer to Power Windows
on page .

µTo open the driver’s
window, push the window switch
f irmly down, then release it. To stop
the window f rom going all the way
down, pull back on the window
switch brief ly.
To close the driver’s window f ully,
pull back the window switch f irmly,
then release it. To stop the window
f rom going all the way up, push
down on the window switch brief ly.
If the MAIN switch is pushed down
(OFF), the passenger windows
cannot be raised or lowered. Keep
the MAIN switch off when you have
children in the vehicle so they do not
injure themselves by operating the
windows unintentionally. To open or close the driver’s window
partially, push down or pull back on
the window switch lightly and hold it.
The window will stop when you
release the switch.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position bef ore operating any of
the window switches. To open a
window, push the switch down and
hold it. To close the window, pull the
switchupandholdit.Releasethe
switch to stop the window.

cause serious injury.
Make sure your passengers are
away from the windows before
closing them.

µIf the driver’s
window senses any obstacle while it
is closing automatically, it will
reverse direction, and then stop. To
close the window, remove the
obstacle, then use the window switch
again.
Auto reverse stops sensing when the
window is almost closed. You should
always check that all passengers and
objects are away from the window
bef ore closing it. If your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead, or the
driver’s window f use is removed, the
AUTO f unction will be disabled. The
power window system needs to be
reset af ter reconnecting the battery
or installing the f use.
Start the engine. Push down and
hold the driver’s window switch
until the window is f ully open.
Pull and hold the driver’s window
switch to close the window
completely, then hold the switch
f or about 2 seconds.
If the power windows do not operate
properly af ter resetting, have your
vehicle checked by your dealer. The power window system has a key-
of f delay f unction. The windows will
still operate f or up to 10 minutes
after you turn off the ignition switch.
Opening either f ront door cancels
the delay function. You must turn
the ignition switch to the ON (II)
position again bef ore you can raise
or lower the windows.
