BMWmaintenancesystem The maintenance system indicates requiredmaintenance measures, and thereby provides
support in maintaining road safety and the opj erational reliability of the vehicle.
In some cases, scopes and intervals may vary
according to the country-specific version. Rej
placement work, spare parts, fuels and lubrij

ConditionBasedService
CBS
Concept
Sensors and special algorithms take into acj
count the driving conditions of the vehicle.
CBS uses these to calculate the need for
maintenance.
The system makes it possible to adapt the amount of maintenance corresponding to your user profile.Generalinformation
Information on service requirements, refer to page 124, can be displayed on the Control Disj
play.
Servicedataintheremotecontrol Information on the required maintenance iscontinuously stored in the remote control. Thedealerss service center can read this data outand suggest a maintenance scope for the vehijcle.
Therefore, hand the service advisor the remote
control with which the vehicle was driven most
recently.
Storageperiods Storage periods during which the vehicle batj
tery was disconnected are not taken into acj count.
If this occurs, have a dealer's service center or another qualified service center or repair shopupdate the time-dependent maintenance projcedures, such as checking brake fluid and, if
necessary, changing the engine oil and the mij
crofilter/activated-charcoal filter.

Lightsandbulbs
Generalinformation
Lightsandbulbs
Lights and bulbs make an essential contribuj
tion to vehicle safety.
Some items of equipment use light-emitting
diodes installed behind a cover as a light source. These light-emitting diodes are related
to conventional lasers and are officially desigj nated as Class 1 light-emitting diodes.
The manufacturer of the vehicle recommendsthat you let a dealerss service center or another
qualified service center or repair shop perform the work in case of a malfunction.
A spare light box is available from a dealerss
service center or another qualified service cenj
ter or repair shop.
Follow the safety information, refer to
page 308.
Headlightglass
Condensation can form on the inside of the exj
ternal lights in cool or humid weather. When
driving with the lights switched on, the conj
densation evaporates after a short time. The
headlight glass does not need to be changed.
If despite driving with the headlights switched
on, increasing humidity forms, for instance waj
ter droplets in the light, have the headlights
checked.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Bulbs can get hot during operation. Conj
tact with the bulbs can cause burns. There is a risk of injury. Only change bulbs after they
have cooled off.'
