Remote Vehicle Start
(if equipped)
Use the Remote Keyless Entry transmit
ter (key fob) to start the engine from out
side the vehicle. (See the Driver
Information Center personalization menu
section to enable.) Automatic Climate
Control system vehicles will regulate the
inside temperature.
To remote start the vehicle:
1. Press and release the key fob Lock
button.
2. Press and hold the (Remote Start)
button until the turn signal lights flash.
If the lights are not visible, hold the
Remote Start button for four seconds
and release.
The engine runs for 10 minutes. Extend
run time for 10 minutes from present by
pressing the Lock and Remote Start but
tons again. Pressing only the Remote
Start button again will turn off the igni
tion. Maximum run time is 20 minutes.
After two remote starts have been pro
vided, the Remote Vehicle Start feature
will not operate.

Unlocking the Doors with the Key
Your vehicle’s passenger doors can be
unlocked using the driver’sdoor key.
With the key in the lock cylinder:
• Turn the key toward the front of the
vehicle to unlock the driver’s door.
• Turn and hold the key toward the
front of the vehicle for two seconds to
unlock all doors.
• Turn and hold the key toward the rear
of the vehicle to lock all doors.

Headlamp Controls and
Automatic Headlamp System
You will find the exterior lamps knob on
the left side of the instrument panel.
(On/Off):If the switch is in the AUTO
position but lights are off, turn them on
by turning the switch to (On/Off) and
release. To turn the headlamps off when
the lights are on, turn the control to the
position. The momentary switch
design springs back to AUTO when
released.
AUTO:Activates the automatic head
lamp system, illuminating all exterior
lamps and the instrument panel/radio
lights when needed.
(Parking Lamps):The parking lamp
position illuminates tail/side marker/
license plate lamps and instrument
panel/radio lights.

Manual Climate Control
To cool the vehicle interior more quickly
on hot days, open the windows long
enough to let the hot air escape. For
maximum cooling:
1. Choose the coolest temperature
setting.
2. Select the Vent mode.
3. Press the (Recirculate) button.
4. Press the (Air Conditioning) button.
5. Turn the (Fan) knob clockwise to
its highest setting.
To defog or defrost, select the (Defog)
or (Defrost) mode. Defog directs half
of the air to the windshield/side windows
and half to the floor outlets. Defrost
directs most air to the windshield and
the side window outlets.
To remove frost or fog from the rear
window, press the (Rear Defog)
button on the mode knob.

Dual Automatic Climate Control
(if equipped)
Dual automatic climate control automati
cally maintains the desired temperature
individually for the driver and front seat
passenger.
Automatic Operation
Push the AUTO button and use the
driver or passengerside up/down arrow
keys to adjust the temperature. The air
delivery mode, fan speed, air condition
ing and recirculation functions will be set
automatically to achieve the desired
temperature.
To turn the passengerside operation on
or off, press the PASS button. When first
turned on, the setting will be the same
as the driver’s. Use the up/down arrow
keys to adjust the temperature.
To turn off the entire system, press the
(Off) button.
The indicator light on the air conditioning
button will always turn on when the
vehicle is started unless the automatic
climate control system is manually
turned off. With the air conditioning
indicator on, the system will determine
if ambient conditions warrant air condi
tioning operation.
Manual Operation
To manually select the temperature or
mode, press the desired mode button as
follows:

Opening the Vehicle Hood
Pull the hood release handle located
under the driver’s side of the instrument
panel.
Under the leading edge of the hood
itself, push the secondary hood release
handle up and to the right. Lift the hood.
See Section 5 of your Owner Manual.
Accessory Power Outlets
Your vehicle is equipped with 12volt
outlets. One is located on the center
console below the climate controls.
The second outlet is located inside the
center storage console. On 6passenger
models, the second outlet is located in
the flip/fold console. Use them to power
cellular phones, CB radio, etc. See your
Owner Manual for full safety and war
ranty cautions.

Automatic Door Locks
Auto Door Lock
The automatic door locks will automati
cally lock the vehicle’sdoors when all
doors are closed and the vehicle is shift
ed into Drive. This feature can be turned
off or on by pressing the (Option) but
ton on the Driver Information Center
(DIC) until “Auto Door Lock” appears on
the display. Press the (Set/Reset)
button to scroll between Offand On.
Press the button to select your choice.
Hanging Garments
Use the rear assist handle or coat
hook to secure clothing on hangers for
transport.
Auto Door Unlock
If the Auto Door Lock feature is turned
on, you may also select the Auto Door
Unlock feature. Automatic door unlock
ing may be turned off, used only for the
driver’s door or for all of the doors.
Press the button on the DIC until “Auto
Door Unlock” is displayed; and then
press the button to scroll through
Off, Driver and All. If Driver or All is
selected, two additional choices —
“KeyOut” and “Park” — will be dis
played. Select one of these choices to
determine when the vehicle’s door(s)
will automatically unlock.
