2-53 Power Remote Control Mirror
Your vehicle has electric mirror controls located on the
driver's door armrest.
Move the selector switch below the control pad to choose
the right or left mirror. If you place the switch in the center
position, no movement of the mirror will occur. To adjust
a mirror, press the on arrows located on the control pad in
the direction you want the mirror to go.Adjust each mirror so you can see some of the side of
your vehicle and the area behind your vehicle.
If your vehicle is equipped with the optional memory
seat and mirrors feature, these mirror positions, along
with the driver's seat position can be stored in memory.
See ªMemory Seat and Mirrorsº in the Index.
Parallel Park Assist Mirror (If Equipped)
If you have the DIC feature, the passenger's outside
rearview mirror also includes a tilt
-down feature that
operates when the shift lever is in REVERSE (R).
When the vehicle is shifted out of REVERSE (R), the
passenger mirror will return to its original position after
a five
-second delay. This delay prevents movement of
the mirror if multiple gear transitions (reverse to drive to
reverse) occur during a parallel parking maneuver.
This feature can be programmed on or off through the
personal choice selection menu. See ªDriver
Information Centerº or ªPersonal Choice Featuresº
in the Index for programming instructions.

Convex Outside Mirror
Your passenger's side mirror is convex. A convex
mirror's surface is curved so you can see more from the
driver's seat.
CAUTION:
A convex mirror can make things (like other
vehicles) look farther away than they really are.
If you cut too sharply into the right lane, you
could hit a vehicle on your right. Check your
inside mirror or glance over your shoulder before
changing lanes.
Automatic Dimming/Heated Outside
Rearview Mirror (If Equipped)
If you have this feature, the driver's side outside mirror
will adjust for the glare of headlamps behind you. This
feature is controlled by the on and off settings on the
automatic electrochromic day/night rearview mirror. See
ªAutomatic Electrochromic Day/Night Rearview
Mirrorº earlier in this section.
If you have this feature, the left and right outside mirrors
are also heated when you activate the rear window
defogger. See ªRear Window Defoggerº in the Index.
Both outside mirrors can be folded forward or rearward.
In the rearward position, they will fold flush with the
vehicle. This feature is particularly useful in automatic
car washes.

installed, try another combination.
Front Storage Armrest
Your vehicle may have a fold-down armrest between the
front seats that opens into a storage area. To open it, pull
up on the lever at the front edge. Inside are cupholders
that can be flipped forward for use with the armrest
cover closed. There is also a removable coinholder and a
storage area for cassette tapes and compact discs.
Front Center Console (If Equipped)
Your vehicle may have a center console that has
two storage compartments. The front of the console has
two cupholders that can be unfolded for use. In addition
you can flip the center of the console forward to use the
built
-in writing surface on top of the lid.
You will also find an auxiliary power outlet located
inside the storage compartment and one on the lower
front edge of the console. These outlets can be used for
accessories requiring electrical power, such as a cellular
phone or fax machine. See ªAuxiliary Power Outletsº in
the Index.
The console also contains a removeable coinholder as
well as storage for cassette tapes and compact discs.
2-59 Rear Armrest
Your vehicle's rear seat armrest contains two
cupholders. To access the cupholders, pull the armrest
down from the rear seatback.
Rear Storage Armrest (If Equipped)
The rear storage armrest contains two cupholders. To
access the cupholders, pull the armrest down from the
rear seatback.
The storage armrest also includes a storage area inside
the armrest. To open it, pull up on the lever at the front
edge of the armrest.
Rear Seat Pass Through
Your vehicle is equipped with a rear storage armrest
with a pass
-through feature that allows for trunk access.
Pull the rear armrest down, then push down on the trunk
access panel latch to open the panel. To close, push the
access panel until it latches.
Convenience Net
Your vehicle has a convenience net. You'll see it just
inside the back wall of the trunk.
Put small loads, like grocery bags, behind the net. It can
help keep them from falling over during sharp turns or
quick starts and stops.
The net isn't for larger, heavier loads. Store them in the
trunk as far forward as you can.
You can unhook the net so that it will lie flat when
you're not using it.

Ashtrays and Cigarette Lighter
Front Ashtray
The front ashtray may be removed for cleaning.
To remove, grasp the sides and pull forward.
Rear Ashtray
The rear ashtrays are located on each rear door panel.
To remove the rear ashtray, open the lid and ease the
ashtray upward until the edge can be grasped to pull the
ashtray up and out.
NOTICE:
Don't put papers or other flammable things
into your ashtrays. Hot cigarettes or other
smoking materials could ignite them, causing a
damaging fire.
Cigarette Lighter
There is a cigarette lighter near the front ashtray. To use
it, push it in all the way and let go. When it's ready, it
will pop back out by itself.
NOTICE:
If you hold a cigarette lighter in with your hand
while it is heating, it won't be able to back away
from the heating element when it's ready. That
can make it overheat, damaging the lighter and
the heating element.

Sun Visors
Illuminated Visor Vanity Mirror
Your vehicle has illuminated visor vanity mirrors. When
you open the visor vanity mirror by pulling up, the
lamps turn on.
The brightness of the lamps can be adjusted by sliding
the switch. Your vehicle may also have visor vanity
mirrors for the rear seat passengers.
To block out glare, swing down the visors. The larger
sun visor can be removed from the center mount and
moved to the side, while the auxiliary sun visor remains
to block glare from the front.
The front side of the driver's sun visor also contains a
pocket for map storage.
Auxiliary Power Outlets
Your vehicle may have one or two power outlets
depending on the type of front seat you have. If your
front seat has a fold
-down armrest, the power outlet is
located in the center of the front seat below the cushion.
If your vehicle has front bucket seats with a center
console, you will find one outlet inside the storage
compartment and the other on the lower front edge of
the console.
These power outlets can be used to plug in electrical
equipment such as a cellular telephone or CB radio.
Follow the proper installation instructions that are
included with the equipment you install.
Certain power accessory plugs may not be compatible to
the auxiliary power outlet and could result in blown
vehicle or adapter fuses. If you experience a problem see
your dealer for additional information on the power
accessory plugs.

OnStar System (If Equipped)
OnStar is a vehicle communications system that
offers a variety of services and provides a hands
-free
communication link between you and the OnStar Center.
A service subscription agreement and fee are required in
order to receive OnStar service. Services are available

required. Press the Call Answer/End button to cancel the
automatic redial.

system will mute, and the ring will be heard). Press this

OnStar System using either the volume control knob on
the radio or using the steering wheel volume control.
Telltale Light: This light will indicate the status of
the system. A solid green light will come on when you
start the vehicle to let you know that the system is on
and is ready to make or receive calls.
If the light blinks green it means that an incoming or
outgoing call is in progress. Press the Call ANSWER/END
button if you notice the light blinking and you are not
on a call.
