AllWheel Drive
For extra traction, vehicles equipped
with allwheel drive can automaticallytransfer power from the rear wheels tothe front wheels under lowtraction con
ditions. On dry roads with good traction, the system operates in twowheel drive.
You may feel the system operating whenengine power is transferred to all fourwheels.
See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.
Electronically Controlled
Rear Air Suspension
This feature automatically keeps your
vehicle level when loaded or unloaded. The system may make an occasional“whirring” soundunder the rear of the
vehicle under heav
ier rear loads, indi
cating that the sys
tem’s air compressor
is operating to provide a level rideheight. Whenunloading, you mayalso hear air beingreleased from the system. An inflator
outlet and hose are included with thesystem for inflating tires, toys and sports
equipment. The compressor automatically shuts down if it overheats, andresumes operation when it cools.
See Section 4 of your Owner Manual.
Sun Visors
To block the sun’s glare, pull the sun
visor down. You can also cover the driver or passenger frontside window bysliding the sun visor front to rear of thevehicle and vice versa.
See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Traction Assist System (TAS)
(Rearwheel drive only)
The Traction Assist System (standard on
rearwheel drive vehicles) limits wheel
spin. TAS operates only when it senses
that one or both rear wheels are begin
ning to lose traction. When this happens, engine power is reduced to limit
wheelspin and the LOW TRAC light
comes on. You may also hear or feel the
system working. TAS is automaticallyenabled whenever you start the vehicle.
You can disable it by pressing the TASON/OFF button located near the shiftlever or on the instrument panel. When
disabled, the TRAC OFF light comes on.Enable the system by pressing the TA S
ON/OFF button again and the TRAC
OFF light will go out.
See Section 4 of your Owner Manual.
Luggage Carrier (if equipped)
The luggage carrier has side rails
attached to the roof and allows you tocarry luggage on top of your vehicle. Some vehicles are equipped with slidingcross rails and tiedown spots to secure
cargo. To slide the cross rails to thedesired position, lift the lever on eachside of the cross rail and slide it into
position. Secure the cross rail by pressing the levers on each side of the cross
rail down into place. To reduce windnoise when the luggage carrier is not inuse, position the rear cross rail at therearmost position and the front cross railabove the rearmost portion of the reardoor opening (above the “C”pillar).
Note:Never carry anything on the vehi
cle roof that is longer or wider than the
luggage carrier itself. (Examples: ply
wood, paneling, a mattress.) The load
could be violently torn off, causing youor other drivers to have a collision.
Note:Loading cargo that weighs more
than 220 pounds (100 kg) on the luggage carrier may damage your vehicle.
