Amber coloured bulbs, such as thedirection indicators, must be replacedwith bulbs of identical specificationsand colour.
When refitting, close the protective cover carefully to preser ve the sealing of the headlamp.

Rapid flashing of the direction indicator warning lamp (right or left) indicates thefailure of a bulb on that side.
Changing direction indicator bulbs
)Turn the bulb holder an eighth of a turn anti-clockwise and extract it.)Remove the bulb and change it.
To reassemble, carry out these operations in
reverse order.
Changing main beam headlampbulbs
)Remove the protective cover by pulling on

)On the front bumper, unclip the cover by pressing on the left edge. )Screw the towing eye in fully. )Install the towing bar.
Put the gear lever into neutral (position N
for an electronic or automatic gearbox). Failure to follow this instruction maycause damage to some components(braking, transmission...) and the absence of braking assistance when the engine is restar ted.
)
Unlock the steering by turning the key
in the ignition one notch and release the
parkin
g brake.) Switch on the hazard warning lamps onboth vehicles. )
Move off gently, drive slowly and for a shor tdistance.

This towing is strictly prohibited (risk of damaging your vehicle).

Driving advice
Distribution of loads
)Distribute the load in the trailer so that theheaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.

Air density decreases with altitude,
thus reducing engine performance. Above 1 000 metres, the maximum towed
load must be reduced by 10 % for every
1 000 metres of altitude.
Side wind
)Take into account the increased sensitivity
to side wind.

Cooling

To w i ng a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electricall
y controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed.
)
To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed.
The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the
gradient and the ambient
temperature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
)If the warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come on, stop the vehicle and switch off
the engine as soon as possible.

Braking

To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a longmountain type of descent, the use of engine braking is recommended.

Tyres
)Check the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the recommended pressures.

Lighting
)Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer.

The rear parking sensors will be deactivated automatically if a genuine CITROËN towbar is used.
R
efer to the "Technical Data" section for details
of the weights and towed loads which apply to your vehicle.

The fitting of electrical equipment or accessories which are not recommended by CITROËN may resultin a failure of your vehicle's electronicsystem and excessive electrical consumption.
Please note this precaution. Youare advised to contact a CITROËNrepresentative to be shown the range of recommended equipment and accessories.
Installation of radiocommunicationtransmitters
Before installing any after-market radiocommunication transmitter, you can
contact a CITROËN dealer for thespecification of transmitters which can be fitted (frequency, maximum power, aerial position, specific installation requirements), in line with the Vehicle Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2004/10 4/EC).

Depending on the legislation in forcein the country, it may be compulsory to have a high visibility safety vest, warning triangle and spare bulbs andfuses available in the vehicle. B
y visiting a CITROËN dealer, you can also

Checks

Fluid specifi cation

For optimum cleaning and to avoid freezing,
this fluid must not be topped up or replaced
with plain water.
Screenwash fluid level
Top up the level when necessary. Avoid prolonged contact of used oil or fluids with the skin.
Most of these fluids are harmful to
health or indeed very corrosive.

Do not discard used oil or fluids into sewers or onto the ground.
Take used oil to a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop (France) or to anauthorised waste disposal site.

Used products
To p p i ng up
This additive must be topped up by a CITROËN
dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Diesel additive level
(Diesel engine with particle
emission filter)
A low additive level is indicated by illumination
of the ser vice warning lamp, accompaniedby an audible warning and a message in the screen.

Checks

Checks

The battery does not require any maintenance.
However, check that the terminals are clean
and correctl
y tightened, particularly in summer and winter.
Par ticle emissions filter (Diesel)
The start of saturation of thepar ticle filter is indicated by the
temporary illumination of this warning lamp
accompanied by a warning message in the screen.
As soon as the traffic conditions permit,
regenerate the filter by driving at a speed of at
least 40 mph (60 km/h) until the warning lampgoes off.
If the warning lamp stays on, this indicates a
low additive level.
On a new vehicle, the first particlefilter regeneration operations may be accompanied by a "burning" smell,
which is perfectly normal.
Following prolonged operation of the vehicle at very low speed or at idle, you may, in exceptional circumstances, notice the emission of water vapour at the exhaust on acceleration. This does not affect the behaviour of the vehicle or the environment. Unless other wise indicated, check these components in accordance with the ser vicin
g booklet and according to your engine.
Other wise, have them checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Refer to the servicing booklet for
details of the replacement inter vals
for these components.
Oil filter
Replace the oil filter each time theengine oil is changed.
Refer to the ser vicing booklet for
details of the replacement inter val for
this component. When carr
ying out work on the battery, refer
to the "Practical information" section for
details of the precautions to be taken before
disconnecting the battery and following itsreconnection. Dependin
g on the environment (e.g. dusty
atmosphere) and the use of the vehicle (e.g.city driving), replace them twice as often if necessary.y A clogged passenger compar tment filter may
have an adverse effect on the performance
of the air conditioning system and generateundesirable odours.
