Changing a bulb


Front lamps

In some weather conditions (e.g. low temperature or humidity), the presence of misting on the internal sur face of the glass of the headlamps and rear lampsis normal; it disappears after the lamps have been on for a few minutes.

The headlamps are fitted with polycarbonate glass with a protectivecoating:)do not clean them using a dry or abrasive cloth, nor with a detergent or solvent product,)
use a sponge and soapy water or apH neutral product,)
when using a high pressure washer on persistent marks, do not keep the lance directed towards thelamps or their edges for too long, so as not to damage their protectivecoating and seals,)
do not touch the bulb directly withyour fingers, use lint-free cloths.
Changing a bulb should only be doneafter the headlamp has been switched off for a few minutes (risk of serious burns). It is imperative to use only anti-ultraviolet (UV) type bulbs in order notto damage the headlamp. Always replace a failed bulb with a new bulb with the same type andspecification.1

Amber coloured bulbs, such as thedirection indicators, must be replacedwith bulbs of identical specificationsand colour.
When refitting, close the protective cover carefully to preser ve the sealing of the headlamp.


Rapid flashing of the direction indicator warning lamp (right or left) indicates thefailure of a bulb on that side.
Changing direction indicator bulbs
)Turn the bulb holder an eighth of a turn anti-clockwise and extract it.)Remove the bulb and change it.
To reassemble, carry out these operations in
reverse order.
Changing main beam headlampbulbs
)Remove the protective cover by pulling on
the tab. )Disconnect the bulb connector. )Push the spring to one side to release the bulb.)Remove the bulb and change it.

Changing dipped beamheadlamp bulbs
)Remove the protective cover by pullingthe tab. )Disconnect the bulb connector by lifting

) Pull the bulb holder pressing on the tabs on both sides. )
Remove the bulb and change it.

Changing front foglamp bulbs
)Access to the front foglamp is through the aper ture below the bumper.
If necessary, unscrew and completely remove the cover.)Turn the bulb holder a quar ter turn anti-clockwise and pull it out. )Disconnect the bulb connector. )Remove the bulb and change it.
To r e f i t , c a r ry out these operations in reverse order.
If you experience any difficulty in replacing bulbs, contact your CITROËNdealer or a qualified workshop.
Changing direction indicator side
repeaters
)Insert a screwdriver towards the centre of
the repeater between the repeater and the
base on the body.
)Tilt the screwdriver to extract the repeater and remove it.)Disconnect the repeater connector.)Replace the module.
To r e f i t , c a r ry out these operations in reverse order.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop to obtain areplacement side repeater module.

Changing bulbs
These bulbs are changed from inside the boot:
) open the boot,)
remove the access grille from thecorresponding side trim panel, )
slacken and remove the nut,
)
disconnect the lamp unit connector,)
unclip the lamp unit by lowering the tongue
and carefully extract it pulling in line
towards the outside,
)remove the four screws and lift off the bulb
holder,
)turn the failed bulb a quar ter of a turn and change it.
To r e f i t , c a r r
y out these operations in reverse order.
Take care to engage the lamp unit in its guides,
while keeping it in line with the vehicle.
Tighten sufficiently to ensure sealing, but
without damaging the lamp. 1

)Insert a thin screwdriver into one of the
transparent lens.
)Push it outwards to unclip it and remove it. )Remove the failed bulb and change it. To reassemble, carry out these operations inreverse order.
Ensure that the housing cover is correctly positioned on its support before clipping it into place.

ge these bulbs, it is necessary toremove the housing from the rear shelf, working from the rear seats:)pull the housing cover towards you and up
to disengage it,
) disconnect the lamp connector,)
unclip the bulb holder by lifting the two lugs
and remove it,) replace the failed bulb.
To reassemble, carry out these operations in reverse order.

secured correctly,
- never fit one mat on top of another.

Installation of radiocommunicationtransmitters
Before installing any after-market radiocommunication transmitter, you can
contact a CITROËN dealer for thespecification of transmitters which can be fitted (frequency, maximum power,aerial position, specific installation requirements), in line with the Vehicle Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2004/10 4/EC).


Depending on the legislation in forcein the country, it may be compulsory to have a high visibility safety vest,warning triangle and spare bulbs andfuses available in the vehicle. B
y visiting a CITROËN dealer, you can also
obtain products for cleaning and maintenance (exterior and interior) - including ecological products in the "TECHNATURE" range, toppingup products (screenwash...), touch-up pens and paint aerosols for the exact colour of your
vehicle, refills (cartridge for the temporary puncture repair kit...), ...
