ery   slowly,   the   gearbox   engages   first   gear

his   warning   lamp,   accompanied  
b

y   an   audible   signal   and   a   message   in   the  
m

ultifunction   screen,   indicates   a   gearbox   fault.
In
  this   case,   the   gearbox   switches   to   back-up  
m

ode   and   is   locked   in   3rd   gear.   You   may   feel  
a

  substantial   knock   when   changing   from   P
to R
  and   from   N to R.
  This   will   not   cause   any  
d

amage   to   the   gearbox.
Do
  not   exceed   60   mph   (100   km/h),   local   speed  
r

estrictions
 p
ermitting.
Contact
  a   CITROËN   dealer   or   a   qualified

orkshop   as   soon   as   possible.
This
  symbol   is   displayed   if   a   gear

s   not   engaged   correctly   (selector

Gear efficiency indicator
System which reduces fuel consumption by advising the driver to change up.
O n   vehicle   fitted   with   a   manual  
g

earbox,   the   arrow   is   accompanied   by  
t

he   gear   recommended.
With
  an   electronic   or   automatic  
g

earbox,   the   system   is   only   active   in  
m

anual
 m
ode. The
  system   adapts   its   gear   change  
r

ecommendation   according   to   the  
d

riving   conditions   (slope,   load, ...)   and  
t

he   demands   of   the   driver   (power,  
a

cceleration,   braking, ...).
The
  system   never   suggests:

ngaging   a   lower   gear.
Operation
Depending on the driving situation and your vehicle's   equipment,   the   system   may   advise

ou   to   skip   one   (or   more)   gear(s).   You   can

ollow   this   instruction   without   engaging   the  
i

ntermediate
 g
ears.
The
  gear   engagement   recommendations   must  
n

ot   be   considered   compulsory.   In   fact,   the  
c

onfiguration   of   the   road,   the   amount   of   traffic  
a

nd   safety   remain   determining   factors   when  
c

hoosing   the   best   gear.   Therefore,   the   driver  
r

emains   responsible   for   deciding   whether   or   not  
t

o   follow   the   advice   given   by   the   system.
This
  function   cannot   be   deactivated. Example:

In the event of a fault with the system, the indicator   lamp   in   the   "ECO OFF" button
flashes
  for   a   few   moments,   then   comes   on  
c

ontinuously.
Have
  it   checked   by   a   CITROËN   dealer   or   a  
q

ualified
 w
orkshop.
In
  the   event   of   a   fault   in   STOP   mode,   the  
v

ehicle   may   stall.   All   of   the   warning   lamps  
i

n   the   instrument   panel   come   on.   It   is   then  
n

ecessary   to   switch   off   the   ignition   and   start  
t

he   engine   again   using   the   key.
Operating fault
The Stop & Start system requires 
a   12   V   battery   with   a   special  
s

pecification
 a
nd
 t
echnology.
All
  work   on   this   type   of   battery   must   be

arried   out   only   by   a   CITROËN   dealer

r   a   qualified   workshop.

Deactivation / Manual
reactivation
In certain cases, such as the need to maintain a   comfortable   temperature   in   the   passenger  
c

ompartment,   it   may   be   useful   to   deactivate   the  
S

top   &   Start   system.
The
  system   can   be   deactivated   at   any   time,  
o

nce   the   ignition   is   on.
If
  the   engine   is   in   STOP   mode,   it   then   restarts.
The
  Stop   &   Start   system   is   reactivated  
a

utomatically   every   time   the   ignition   is  
switched
  on.
Opening the bonnet
Before
  doing   anything   under   the  
b

onnet,   deactivate   the   Stop   &   Start  
s

ystem   to   avoid   the   risk   of   injury  
r

elated   to   an   automatic   change   to  
S

TART mode.
Driving on flooded roads
Before
  driving   through   a   flooded   road,  
i

t   is   strongly   recommended   that   you  
d

eactivate   the   Stop   &   Start   system.
For
  more   advice   on   driving,   particularly  
o

n   flooded   roads,   refer   to   the  
c

orresponding

ection.

Speed limiter
System which prevents the vehicle from exceeding   the   speed   programmed   by   the   driver.
When
  the   programmed   speed   limit   is   reached,  
p

ressing   the   accelerator   pedal   in   the   normal  
m

anner   no   longer   has   any   effect.
The
  speed   limiter   is   switched on  
m
anually:
 i

t   requires   a   programmed   speed   of   at   least  
2

0 mph   (30   km/h).
The
  speed   limiter   is   switched off   by   manual  
o

peration   of   the   control.
The
  programmed   speed   can   be   exceeded  
t

emporarily   by   pressing   the   accelerator   firmly.
To
  return   to   the   programmed   speed,   simply  
s

low   down   to   a   speed   below   the   programmed  
s

peed. The
  speed   limiter   cannot,   in   any
 c

ircumstances,   replace   the   need   to
 r

espect   speed   limits,   nor   can   it   replace   the
 n

eed   for   vigilance   on   the   part   of   the   driver.The
  controls   of   this   system   are   grouped

  a   steep   descent   or   in   the   event   of

harp   acceleration,   the   speed   limiter

ill not be able to prevent the vehicle
from
  exceeding   the   programmed   speed.
To
  avoid   any   risk   of   jamming   of   the  
ped

als:

o   not   fit   one   mat   on   top   of   another.
In
  the   event   of   a   speed   limiter   fault,   the   speed
