REV COUNTER
When approaching the maximum
engine speed, when the rev
counter needle crosses into the
red zone, you must engage the
next gear up.
DISPLAY
Total/trip distance recorder
When the ignition is switched on,
the distance recorder selected
when the engine was switched off
is displayed.
Press button
1 to alternate the
distance display:
- total with "ODO" displayed,
- trip with "TRIP" displayed. To reset the trip recorder to zero,
when it is displayed, press and
hold button
1.

Fuel gauge
This indicates the quantity of fuel
available :
- 1/1 , the tank is full.
- R , the tank is on reserve.
Fuel low
When the fuel in the tank is down
to the minimum level, the last bar
flashes, accompanied by a sound
signal.
You still have around 5 litres.
You are advised to fill up
immediately.
When you have only around
3 litres , the flashing becomes
rapid, but is not accompanied by
a sound signal.
If you restart your vehicle, the
flashing of the last bar will again be
accompanied by a sound signal. Lever on EASY mode
(automatic mode)
"E" is displayed when you select
this operating mode.
It disappears when you change to
manual mode.
Lever on manual mode
"M" is displayed when you select
this operating mode.
It disappears when you change to
EASY mode.
"Neutral"
"Reverse"
Engagement of reverse gear is
confirmed by the flashing of "R"
accompanied by a sound signal.
Indicator for SensoDrive
gearbox
Manual operating
mode :
Gear engaged
Warning lamp
If this warning lamp lights
up, engine running, it indi-
cates that the SensoDrive
gearbox is malfunctioning.

WARNING LAMPS AND
INDICATORS
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
Central STOP
warning lamp
This flashes for a few
seconds each time the
ignition is switched on. Linked with
the warning lamps:
- "engine oil pressure",
- "coolant temperature",
Stop immediately if this lamp
comes on with the engine
running.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
Engine oil pressure
warning lamp
This comes on each time
the ignition is switched on
until the engine is started.
If it comes on linked with the STOP
warning lamp, with the engine
running, this indicates that the oil
pressure is too low.
Stop immediately.
Consult a CITROËN dealer. Coolant temperature
warning lamp
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the
ignition is switched on.
If this warning lamp comes on,
with the engine running, this
indicates an abnormal increase in
the coolant temperature.
Stop immediately.
Check the coolant level.
To do this, wait until the engine
has cooled before topping up the
level.
The cooling system is
pressurised.
When checking the level, and to
avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew
the cap 1/4 of a turn to allow the
pressure to drop.
When the pressure has dropped,
remove the cap.
Then:
1 - top up, if necessary (see
"Levels").
2 - or if the level is satisfactory,
consult a CITROËN dealer. Handbrake, low brake
fluid level and braking
system warning lamp
This comes on each time
the ignition is switched on, until
the handbrake is released.
Fixed lighting, with the engine
running, indicates one of the
following:
- that the handbrake is applied or has not been released fully,
when the vehicle is moving,
- an excessive drop in the brake fluid level (if the warning lamp
remains on even with the
handbrake released),
- a braking system fault.
Stop immediately.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
Anti-lock braking
system (ABS) warning
lamp
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the ignition is
switched on.
Fixed lighting indicates a
malfuncton of the ABS.
However, the vehicle retains
conventional braking with
assistance.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.

10 Electric power steering
warning lamp
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the
ignition is switched on.
Fixed lighting, when the vehicle is
moving, indicates a malfunction of
the electric steering system.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
Battery charge warning
lamp
This comes on each time
the ignition is switched on,
until the engine is started.
Fixed lighting, with the engine
running, indicates a malfunction.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
Emission control
system warning lamp
This comes on each time
the ignition is switched on
until the engine is started.
Fixed lighting, with the engine
running, indicates an emission
control system fault.
Contact a CITROËN dealer.
Note: it may also come on if you
run out of fuel (see "Running out
of fuel"). W A R N I N G L A M P S
Diesel engine pre-heater
warning lamp
Wait until the warning lamp
goes out before starting.
If the temperature is sufficient, the
warning lamp comes on briefly,
you can start without waiting.
Water-in-diesel-filter
warning lamp*
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the
ignition is switched on.
Fixed lighting, with the engine
running, indicates a risk of damage
to the engine.
Contact a CITROËN dealer.
Airbags warning lamp
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the
ignition is switched on. Airbags malfunction
Flashing of the warning lamp
indicates an airbags malfunction.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
Driver’s seat belt not
fastened warning lamp
When the ignition is
switched on, the warning
lamp flashes until the driver
fastens his seat belt.
Above a speed of approximately
15 km/h (10 mph), the warning
lamp flashes accompanied by
an audible signal until the driver
fastens his seat belt. SensoDrive gearbox
warning lamp
Fixed lighting of this war-
ning lamp, with the engine
running, indicates a malfunction of
the SensoDrive gearbox.
Passenger airbag deactivation
If the passenger airbag is deactiva-
ted, the warning lamp remains on.
* According to country. ESP/ASR system
malfunction warning
lamp
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the ignition is
switched on.
If it remains on, with the engine
running, this indicates a system
malfunction.
Contact a CITROËN dealer. ESP/ASR warning lamp
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the ig-
nition is switched on.
The warning lamp flashes when
the ASR system is active.
If it is accompanied by a sound
signal, this means that the ESP is
active.

LIGHTING CONTROL STALK
Front and rear lamps
Rotate ring
A to select : Dipped beam / Main beam
Push the stalk away from you for
main beam, pull the stalk towards
you for dipped beam.
1. Lamps off.
2. Sidelamps.
3. Dipped beam / Main
beam headlamps. Rear foglamps
Provided dipped beams
are on, you can select
rear foglamps by rotating
ring B rearwards, forwards
to switch them off. If they
are on, this will be indicated by the
warning lamp in the instrument
panel.
Direction indicators
Left hand : push the
control downwards.
Right hand : push the
control upwards.
In clear or rainy weather, it is
prohibited to drive with rear
foglamps on, whether by day or by night, as they dazzle other road users.
Do not forget to switch them off as soon as they are no longer required.
Lamps left on
With the ignition off, when opening
the driver’s door, if you leave your
lamps on you hear a continuous
sound signal.
Headlamp flash
Pull the stalk towards you to flash
headlamps.
The headlamp flash operates
even with the ignition off.

HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT
Depending on the loading of your
vehicle, it is recommended to
adjust the level of the headlamp
beams.
0 - 1 or 2 persons in the front
seats.
- - 3 persons.
1 - 4 persons.
2 - 4 persons + maximum
authorised loads.
3 - Driver + maximum authorised
loads.
Initial adjustment is position 0.
HAZARD WARNING LAMPS
Simultaneous operation of the
direction indicators.
Only use these if there is danger,
for example when you have to
stop suddenly or in unusual driving
conditions.
They also operate without the
ignition being on. S I G N A L L I N G
The direction indicators will not work when the hazard warning lamps are in use.

Rear screen wipe and wash
V I S I B I L I T Y
WINDSCREEN WIPER STALK
Windscreen wipe
MIST
Single wipe.
For a single wipe of the windscreen, push the
control upwards then
release it.
OFF Off.
INT Intermittent wipe.
LO Normal wipe
(moderate rain).
HI Fast wipe (heavy rain). Rear screen wash
Turn ring
A to "ON" for constant
wipe.
Ring A at "OFF" (wiper
off).
Turn it towards you for rear
screen wash. When using a car wash,
switch off the ignition and
ensure that the wiper blades are in the low position.
In winter, you are advised
to wait until the windscreen
has been de-iced fully before operating the windscreen wipers.
Turn it forwards for rear
screen wash during wipe.
Windscreen wash
Pull the wiper stalk towards you.
