AIR CONDITIONING
A. Air conditioning On/Off
With the engine running, press
the button, the warning lamp lights
up.
If the control C is in position
"0", the air conditioning is off.
The cabin temperature cannot be
lower than the ambient temperature
unless the air conditioning is
operating.
For reassurance that your system
is functioning correctly, you are
recommended to have it checked
on a regular basis.
Water arising from condensation
in the air conditioning system
drains away through an aperture
provided for this purpose. A pool of
water may thus form underneath
the vehicle when stationary.
If after a prolonged stop in strong
sunshine the cabin temperature is
excessive, open the windows to
air the passenger compartment
for a few minutes, the close them
again.
The air conditioning uses power
from the engine to operate. There
is therefore a slight increase in
fuel consumption.
To keep the compressor well
sealed, it is essential to operate
the air conditioning at least once
in every month.
Whatever the time of year, the air
conditioning is useful in removing
humidity and misting.
To be effective, the air conditioning
should only be used with the
windows closed.

Adjustment of temperature
Rotate the control from blue (cold) to red (hot) to adjust
the temperature to your preference.
C. Adjustment of air flow
When you switch on the ignition, rotate the control to
obtain a flow of air that is comfortable.
Air inlet
Make sure that the exterior air inlet grille and manifold
at the base of the windscreen is clean and free of dead
leaves, snow, etc..
If you wash the vehicle with a high pressure jet, avoid
targeting the air inlet grille.
Air circulation
In order to obtain a perfectly even distribution of air,
you should take care not to obstruct the exterior air
inlet grille, the air vents, the air ducts, or the air outle
ts
to the passenger footwells.
The air vents to the face have grilles for orienting the
flow of air.
Pollen filter
Your installation has a filter for excluding dust.
This filter has to be changed at the prescribed
maintenance intervals (see the Maintenance Guide). D.
Recirculation of air / Outside air
Recirculation of air inside the cabin is useful
for isolating the passenger compartment from
odours or fumes coming from outside.
A combined use of both the air conditioning
and air recirculation for only a short time will optimise
the performance of the air conditioning.
Used in a climate with high humidity, recirculation of
air carries the risk of the windows misting.
As soon as possible, move the manual control D to the
right, to be in the "Exterior air" position, so as to avoid
any risk of poor air quality.
Entry of air from the outside helps to prevent
and eliminate misting of the windscreen and side
windows.

Adjustment of air distribution
The distribution of air can be moderated by placing the
control on an intermediate position. When the engine is running, press on the
control
F, the warning lamp lights up.

Rear screen deicing/demisting
The system deices/demists the rear screen. Press
again on control F to switch it off.
For rapid deicing or demisting of the windscreen and
side windows:
- place the controls for temperature
B and air flow C in
the maximum position,
- place the control for entry of air D in the "Entry of air"
position,
- operate the air conditioning by pressing button A.

REAR SEATS
Folding the divided or
monoblock backrest:
These actions have to be
performed at the rear of the
vehicle, with the boot open.
To fold the backrest :
- check that the seat belt is correctly positioned on the side
of the backrest,
- place the head restraints in the low position (see "Rear head
restraints").
- pull the control(s) B (one for each
seat, two for the benchseat),
located in the boot behind the
backrest, while folding the
backrest. Repositioning the divided or
monoblock backrest:
- fold the backrest rearwards and
secure it on the anchorage C.
Take care not to jam the seat
belts, especially between the
backrest and the anchorage C.
Check that the seat or benchseat
is correctly locked in place.REAR SEAT BELTS
You should stow the seat belt
fastenings in the housings A.

REAR HEAD RESTRAINTS
The rear head restraints can be removed and have two positions:
- high, position for use.
- low, stowage position.
To raise the head restraint, pull it upwards.
To lower it, press lug A then the head restraint.
To remove it:
- tilt the seat back slightly,
- move the head restraint to the high position,
- press lug A pulling the head restraint upwards at the same time.
To refit it:
- tilt the seat back slightly,
- engage the rods of the head restraint in the openings.
To reach the low position, press lug A.

CHILD LOCK
This prevents the opening of each
of the rear doors from the inside.
Push control 1 towards the outside
of the vehicle.
REAR WINDOWS (5-door)
To partially open the rear windows,
pull the lever then push the
window.
To close the window, pull then press
the lever to lock the window.
Check the status of
this safety device before
switching on the ignition.

Deactivation of the passenger airbag
To guarantee the safety of your child, it is essential to d
eactivate the
passenger airbag if you are installing a "rear facing" child seat on
the front passenger seat. Otherwise the child risks being seriously
injured or even killed should the airbag deploy.
 With the ignition switched off , insert the key into the passenger airbag
deactivation switch 1, turn it to the "OFF" position, then retrieve it while
maintaining this position.
In the "OFF" position, the passenger airbag will not deploy in the eve nt of
a collision.
When you remove the child seat, turn the airbag switch to the "ON" position
to reactivate the airbag and thus ensure the safety of a fron t passenger
should there be a collision.
Checking the deactivation
With the ignition on (2nd notch of the key), the illumina tion of this
warning lamp indicates that the passenger airbag is deactivate d
( "OFF" position of the switch). The warning lamp in the
instrument panel remains on throughout the time that the ai rbag is
deactivated.

CHILD SEATS secured by
means of the vehicle seat
belt
In conformity with Directive
2000/3, this table tells you to what
extent each of the seat positions
in your vehicle may take a child
seat that is secured by means of
the vehicle seat belt and approved
as "Universal" as a function of the
weight of the child.
Consult "User Precautions" : the
chapter on "Child Safety" at the
end of this handbook, in order
to ensure that you are installing
your child in conditions of
maximum safety.(a) :
In the front passenger seat, it is essential to deactivate t he front
passenger airbag when you install a "rear-facing" child seat in
this position.
Before installing your child in the front passenger seat posit ion,
consult the legislation in force in your country.
U : Seat suitable for installation of a universal rear-facing chil d seat
and a universal forward-facing child seat.
L1 to L5 : Only the child seats indicated may be installed in the seat
position concerned.

ISOFIX anchoring points and the ISOFIX fixing system
The rear individual seats (1) in your vehicle are equipped with
ISOFIX regulation anchoring points.
These seat positions are approved in the framework of the new ISOFIX regulations.
These are 3 rings at each seat position :
- Two "lower" rings a and b, situated between the backrest and the cushion of the vehi cle seat, approx. 28 cm
apart.
- One "upper" ring c, situated at the rear of the vehicle seat, aft of the ba ckrest. This ring is called Top Tether, as
confirmed by the logo.
ISOFIX child seats have two latches which are easy to attach on the two "lower" rings a and b.
Some ISOFIX child seats have a top strap which you attach on the Top Tether ring c.
To attach the top belt, raise the head restraint of the ve hicle seat then secure the hook between the bars. Next
secure the hook on the Top Tether ring c and tension the top strap.
This fixing system is intended for children weighing up to 18 kg.
The ISOFIX child seats approved for installation in your vehicle are indicated in the table on the following page.
(1) The rear benchseat is not equipped with an ISOFIX anchorin g point.

In conformity with the European legislation (ECE 16), this table informs you which of the ISOFIX child seats can be
installed in the seat positions equipped with ISOFIX ancho ring points in your vehicle.
