Stop immediately if this
lamp
comes
on with the engine running.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
Engine oil pressure

This comes on each time the
ignition is switched on until
the engine is started.

If it comes on linked with the STOP

this indicates that the oil pressure is too
low.

Stop immediately.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.

This comes on for a few
seconds each time the ignition is
switched on. Anti-lock braking
system (ABS) warning

Check the coolant level.
To do this, wait until the engine has
cooled before topping up the level.
The cooling system is pressurised.
When checking the level, and
to avoid any risk of scald-

Then:

1. top up, if necessary
(see "Levels").

2. or, if the level is satisfactory,
contact a CITROËN dealer. Fixed lighting, with the engine run-

CHECKS
CHECKS Oil filter
Change the fi lter regularly, in accord-
ance with the servicing schedule. Only use products recom-
mended by CITROËN or
products of equivalent qual-
ity and specifi cation.
In order to optimise the
operation of units as important as the
braking system, CITROËN selects
and offers specifi c products.
In order to avoid damaging the elec-
trical units, high pressure washing
to clean the engine compartment is
strictly prohibited.
To check the main levels and cer-
tain components, in accordance with
the manufacturer's servicing sched-
ule, refer to the pages of the Main-
tenance and Warranty Guide which
correspond to your vehicle's engine.
Battery
At the start of winter, have your bat-
tery checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Air filter and passenger
compartment filter
Have the fi lter elements replaced reg-
ularly.
If you drive in dusty condi-
tions, change them twice as often.
Brake pads
Brake pad wear depends on the style
of driving, in particular for vehicles
which are used in town, over short
distances.
Disc and drum wear
For any information relating to disc
and drum surface wear, contact a
CITROEN dealer. Manual gearbox
Have the level checked in accord-
ance with the manufacturer's servicing
schedule.
RUNNING OUT OF FUEL (DIESEL)
It may be necessary to check
the thickness of the pads,
even between services.
If the engine stops, it is pos-
sible to restart it to drive a
short distance by operating
the priming pump at least
10 times.
If you run out of fuel, the circuit must
be reprimed:
- fi ll the fuel tank with at least fi ve litres of diesel,
- squeeze and release the manual priming pump at least 10 times.
This is located under the protec-
tive cover which must fi rst be un-
clipped and then removed,
- operate the starter until the en- gine starts.

Notes: if the engine does
not start after approximate-
ly 15 seconds, operate the
priming pump again approxi-
mately fi fteen times before trying
again.
If the emission control warning lamp
has come on, it will only switch off af-
ter your vehicle has been used sev-
eral times.
Parking brake
Where the parking brake travel is too
great or there is a reduction in the
performance of the system, the park-
ing brake should be adjusted, even
between services.
Have the system checked by a
CITROËN dealer.
