Lighting rheostat
The dimmer is active when the lamps are on and affects:The instrument panel: Rev counter, fuel level display.
The display screen.
The air conditioning control panel.
Selection of mode and brightness is done by pressing the dimmer button A on the instrument panel.
Night driving (headlamps on)
4 levels of brightness + 1 level for Black panel.
Adjustment is by successive presses on button A in the following cycle:
level 4
W level 3
W level 2
W level 1
W Black panel.

The driver is recommended not to concern himself with the display controls while driving.1. Time.2. Date - Display zone.3. Outside temperature.
When the outside temperature is between +3 °C and –3 °C, the temperature display fl ashes (risk of ice).Note: The outside temperature displayed may be higher than the actual temperature if the vehicle is stationary in bright sunlight.
Remark: The display of certain types of information is sometimes scrolled and sometimes alter-nated.

Main Menu
By pressing control A then B, you have access to the following functions:
Radio-CD (See radio-CD handbook).
Vehicle confi guration, to activate/deactivate:Triggering of rear screen wipe.The automatic guide-me-home lighting.Automatic lighting of headlamps.Options, to display the alerts.
Display adjustments, to adjust the date and time on the display.Languages, to select the display language.
Units, to access the choices of units of Temperature and Fuel Consumption.

Seat belt height adjustment
The correct positioning of the seat belt is across the middle of the shoul-der. See user precautions.
Adjust the height of the seat belt anchorage by holding down the button and the lever.
Headlamps adjustment
You are advised to adjust the aim of the headlamps in accordance with vehicle load.
In the dashboard on the right hand side of the steering column.
0: Unladen weight.
1: Lightly laden.
2: Half laden.
3: Fully laden.
As a metter of safety, these manœuvres should not be performed while the vehicle is moving.
Steering column adjustment
The steering can be adjusted for both height and reach.
With the vehicle stationary, fi rst adjust your seat to the most suitable position, then adjust the position of the steering wheel. See "Driving position".
Unlock the steering wheel by pulling the control upwards.
Adjust the position of the steering wheel then lock by pushing the control fully downwards.
Make sure that you have a good view of the instrument panel dis-plays.

Temporary override of the cruise speed
While cruise control is in operation, it is always pos-sible to go above the cruise speed simply by pressing the accelerator pedal (for example to overtake another vehicle). The speed displayed fl ashes. You have only to release the accelerator pedal to return to your cruise speed.
Remark: If during cruise control the system cannot keep to the cruise speed (e.g. on a steep descent), then the speed fl ashes. If necessary, brake to curb your speed.
Adjustment of the memorised speed while cruise control is in operation
To adjust the memorised speed, displayed in zone B, press:Button 4 to increase the speed.
Button 2 to decrease the speed.
Remark: Successive presses will modify the cruise speed in steps of 1 km/h and a continuous press in steps of 5 km/h (3 mph).
Disengagement of the memorised cruise speed.Either by pressing the brake pedal or the clutch pedal.
Or by the ESP system being active.Or by pressing button 3.Note: Cruise control is deactivated if the gear lever is in neutral (position N)

The temperature inside the cabin cannot be lower than the temperature outside if the air conditioning is not operating.
The air conditioning maintains optimum com-fort whatever the climatic conditions, through permanent automatic operation (you have pressed the "AUTO" button).Note: The automatic mode only calls for conditioned air in order to attain the desired cabin temperature or to remove air humidity. Therefore the air conditioning warning lamp may come on only intermittently.

Manual recalling of one or more functions
One or more functions can be adjusted manually, while still retaining the other functions in automatic mode.
The function display "AUTO" then goes out.
4. Air conditioning
Press the control located on the control panel.
A symbol appears on the display (system active).
To prevent misting inside the vehicle in cold or humid weather, you are advised to use the AUTO mode.
Press on the control on the dashboard to activate or deactivate the production of cold air.
Air conditioning is then obtained from the mixing of hot air with cold air, using the air blower temperature adjustment 3.
5. Air recirculation
By pressing the control, the entry of air from outside is closed off and the symbol appears on the display.
This position is useful for excluding undesirable odours or fumes coming from outside. It should be cancelled as soon as possible in order to permit renewal of air in the cabin and to prevent misting.
For this, press the "AUTO" button or press again on the air recycling button.
6. Air distribution
Press on the button to scroll through the displays of air fl ow to:
Windscreen.
Central and lateral air vents. Windscreen and passenger footwells.
Windscreen and passenger footwells.
Passenger footwells.
(Air vents closed).
Central and lateral air vents.
Central and lateral air vents and passenger footwells.
Note: In AUTO position the air distribution displayed is that chosen by the system.

The level of air fl ow is indicated on the display by the progressive fi lling of the fan blades (seven possible adjustment positions).
Note: If you place the air blower on position 0, the system is deactivated (the display disappears).
Note: In AUTO position the air fl ow displayed is that Ochosen by the system.

8. Demisting - Defrosting
While it is operating, the warning lamp lights and the symbol appears on the display.
This control is for rapid deicing or demisting of the wind-screen and side windows. It automatically triggers the air conditioning, optimising air fl ow and air distribution for the continued comfort of the vehicle occupants.
To stop it, press again either on the button 8 or on the button "AUTO".
9. Demisting - deicing of the rear screen
Press AUTO to return the system to its automatic function.

Manual adjustments
Head restraint
To raise or lower the head restraint, pull it forwards at the same time as sliding it.
The adjustment is correct when the top edge of the head restraint is at the same height as the top of the head.
To remove it, bring it to the high position. Lift the tab with the aid of a coin and pull.
Backrest angle
Action the control rearwards and adjust the angle of the backrest.
It is possible to recline the backrest to an angle of 45° by tilting it until it locks. Press the control to unlock.
Seat height and rake adjustment
Lift the control and use the weight of your body to move th e seat to the desired position.
Reach
Lift the control bar and adjust to the desired position.
Access to the rear seat positions
To access the rear seat positions, action the control forwards to fold the backrest and slide the front seat.
Afterwards the front seat will revert to its initial position.
Make sure that the seat is secured in place (particularly if the rear seats are folded).
Heated seats
The front seats can be heated indi-vidually. Use the controls located at the side of the seats, and select one of the three heating levels:
0: Off.
1: Slight heat.
2: Medium heat.
3: Maximum heat.
The seat temperature adjusts auto-matically.Note: The heated seats only oper-ate when the engine is running.

The function 3 is available on all models. The other functions are available depending on the version of your vehicl e.
Fore and aft adjustment
From the boot, it is possible to modify the loadspace by slidi ng the seats.
Push down control 2 and adjust to the desired position.
At the front of the seat, it is also possible to adjust knee room.
Raise the bar located under the seat and adjust to the de sired position (several positions).
Rear head restraints
The rear head restraints have two positions:A stowed position for when the seat is not occupied.A deployed position to provide passenger safety, by raising th em to their locking point.
To raise them, pull them upwards to their maximum height, pressin g the unlocking button.
