B O N N E T R E L E A S E
Check that the bonnet is properly secured.
Avoid opening the bonnet in high winds.
Bonnet
This operation should only be performed while the vehicle is stationary.
To release the bonnet, pull the con-trol located under the dashboard towards you.
Operate the lever A, located above the grille, to the right of the chev-rons, then lift.Note: The panel may be hot after the vehicle has been in use.
Bonnet stay: Unclip and swivel the strut, to insert it in notch 1, then in notch 2.
Warning: Do not pull the strut towards the front.
To close
Lower the bonnet carefully, then let it drop shut.IV

Follow the requirements set out in the Maintenance Guide.
Windscreen/rear screen wash and headlamp w a s h fl u i d
Use CITROËN-approved products wherever possible.
Capacity: See “Capacities”.
Engine coolant
T h e fl u i d l e v e l s h o u l d b e between the marks MIN. and MAX. on the header tank.
E n g i n e h o t , w a i t a t l e a s t 1 5 m i n u t e s .
Quality: See “Maintenance Guide”.
Never do anything relating to the cooling system of an engine that is hot.
12V battery
See “Starting with a slave battery”.
Engine oil
Check the engine oil level on horizontal ground with the engine having been s w i t c h e d o f f f o r a t l e a s t 1 0 m i n -utes.
Quality: See “Maintenance Guide”.
Pull out the manual dipstick.
The level should be between the marks MIN.and MAX. on the gauge.
It must never exceed the maximum.

Engine oil
Check the engine oil level on hori-zontal ground with the engine hav-ing been switched off for at least 1 0 m i n u t e s .
Pull out the manual dipstick.
The level should be between the marks MIN. and MAX. on the gauge.
Topping up engine oil

Screw the cap back on and close the bonnet.

Checking the level and topping up w i t h fl u i d m u s t a l w a y s b e d o n e w i t h the engine cold.
Engine hot
Release the protection cover.
W a i t 1 5 m i n u t e s o r f o r t h e t e m p e r - a t u r e t o b e l o w e r t h a n 1 0 0 ° C a n d then carefully unscrew the cap so as to allow the pressure to drop, protecting yourself with, say, a cloth.
Topping up the coolant
T h e fl u i d l e v e l s h o u l d b e b e t w e e n t h e m a r k s MIN. and MAX.on the header tank.

F U S E S
Fuseboxes
There are two fuse boxes, one below the dashboard and one under the bonnet.
Dashboard fuses
The fuse box is located in the lower glovebox compartment.
To access the fuses, open the glove box, pull the handle on the fuse box cover.
Replacing a fuse
Before replacing a fuse, you should ascertain the cause of the fault and have it remedied. The numbers of the fuses are indicated on the fusebox.
GoodBad
Pliers AReplace the fuse that has blown with one of the same rating (same colour).
Use the special pliers A stowed on the cover close to the fuseboxes, this includes a compartment for replacement fuses.
