MONITORING

Indicator and warning lamps

Visual indicators informing the driver that a system is in
operation (operation or deactivation indicator lamps) or of
the occurrence of a fault (warning lamp).

When the ignition is switched on
Certain warning lamps come on for a few seconds when
the vehicle's ignition is switched on.
When the engine is started, these same warning lamps
should go off.
If they remain on, before moving off, refer to the informa-
tion on the warning lamp concerned.
Associated warnings
The illumination of certain warning lamps may be accompanied
by an audible signal and a message in the multifunction screen.

Operation indicator lamps
If one of the following indicator lamps comes on, this confi rms
that the corresponding system has come into operation.
The warning lamps may come on continuously (fi xed)
or fl ash.
Certain warning lamps may come on in two different
modes. Only by relating the type of illumination to the
operating status of the vehicle can it be ascertained whether
the situation is normal or whether a fault has occurred.

ACCESS

Deadlocking using the key

)
Turn the key to the right in the
driver's door lock to lock the
vehicle completely and hold it
in this position for more than
two seconds to close the win-
dows automatically in addition to
locking.

)
Turn the key to the right again
within fi ve seconds to deadlock
the vehicle.
Deadlocking renders the exterior and
interior door controls inoperative.
It also deactivates the manual central
control button.
Therefore, never leave anyone in-
side the vehicle when it is dead-
locked. Deadlocking also triggers the timed
illumination of the exterior side spot
lamps and guide-me-home lighting,
if this is activated.

)
First press this button to fold the
key.
If you do not press the button when
folding the key, there is a risk of
damage to the mechanism.

Locating your vehicle

This function allows you to identify
your vehicle from a distance, espe-
cially when the light is poor. Your ve-
hicle must be locked.

)
Press the closed padlock on the
remote control.
This will bring on the courtesy lamps
and exterior side spotlamps, as well
as fl ashing the direction indicators
for a few seconds.

Anti-theft protection

Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, this code
must be recognised in order for
starting to be possible.
This electronic engine immobiliser
locks the engine management sys-
tem a few minutes after the ignition
is switched off and prevents starting
of the engine by anyone who does
not have the key.
In the event of a fault,
you are informed by il-
lumination of this warn-
ing lamp, an audible
signal and a message in the screen.
In this case, your vehicle will not
start; contact a CITROËN dealer as
soon as possible.
Keep safely the label attached to the
keys given to you on acquisition of
the vehicle.

Folding the key
A press on this button
brings on the temporary
illumination of sidelamps,
dipped beam headlamps,
number plate lamps and
the exterior side spotlamps located
underneath the door mirrors.
A second press before the end of the
timed period cancels the command.
Deadlocking is confi rmed by fi xed
lighting of the direction indicators for
approximately two seconds.
According to version, the door mir-
rors fold at the same time.

Model with front and rear
foglamps

In good or rainy weather, both day
and night, use of the front foglamps
and the rear foglamp is prohibited.
In these situations, the power of
their beams may dazzle other dri-
vers. They should only be used in
fog or snow.
In these weather conditions, it is
your responsibility to switch on the
foglamps and dipped beam head-
lamps manually as the sunshine
sensor may detect suffi cient light.
Do not forget to switch off the front
foglamps and the rear foglamp
when they are no longer necessary.

Switching off the lamps when
the ignition is switched off
On switching off the ignition, all of the
lamps turn off immediately, except
for the dipped beam headlamps if
guide-me-home lighting is activated.
In some weather conditions (e.g. low
temperature or humidity), the pres-
ence of misting on the internal sur-
face of the glass of the headlamps
and rear lamps is normal; it disap-
pears after the lamps have been on
for a few minutes.

Switching on the lamps after
the ignition is switched off
To reactivate the lighting control, rotate
ring A
to the "0"
position - lamps off,
then to the desired position.
On opening the driver's door a
temporary audible signal warns the
driver that the lighting is on.
The lamps, with the exception of
the sidelamps, switch off automati-
cally after a period that depends on
the state of charge of the battery
(entering energy economy mode).

Automatic illumination of
headlamps
When a low level of ambient light
is detected by a sunshine sensor,
the number plate lamps, sidelamps
and dipped beam headlamps are
switched on automatically, without
any action on the part of the driver.
They can also come on if rain is de-
tected, at the same time as auto-
matic operation of the windscreen
wipers.
As soon as the brightness returns
to a suffi cient level or after the wind-
screen wipers are switched off, the
lamps are switched off automatically.
Activation

)
Turn ring A
to the "AUTO"
posi-
tion. The activation of the function
is accompanied by a message in
the screen.

Deactivation

)
Turn ring A
to a position other
than "AUTO"
. Deactivation of
the function is accompanied by a
message in the screen.

Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction of the
sunshine sensor, the lamps comes
on, a message appears in the
screen, accompanied by an audible
signal.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop.

Automatic "guide-me-home"
lighting
When the automatic illumination of
headlamps function is activated,
under low ambient light the dipped
beams headlamps come on au-
tomatically when the ignition is
switched off.
In fog or snow, the sunshine sensor
may detect suffi cient light. Therefore,
the lighting will not come on auto-
matically.
Do not cover the sunshine sen-
sor, linked with the rain sensor and
located in the centre of the wind-
screen behind the rear view mirror;
the associated functions would no
longer be controlled.

Programming
The activation and the duration of
the guide-me-home lighting can
be set in the vehicle confi guration
menu.
For a vehicle fi tted with the mono-
chrome screen A, the duration is fi xed.

OF XENON HEADLAMPS
This system adjusts the height of the
xenon headlamp beams automati-
cally and when stationary, according
to the load in the vehicle, so as to
avoid causing a nuisance to other
road user.
If a malfunction occurs,
this warning lamp is dis-
played in the instrument
panel, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message in
the screen.
The system then places your head-
lamps in the lowest position.
Do not touch the xenon bulbs.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop.
MANUAL HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT

To avoid dazzling other road users,
the height of the halogen bulb head-
lamps must be adjusted according
to the load in the vehicle. To do this,
turn the control, located below the
dashboard to the right of the driver,
to the appropriate position:

0.
1 or 2 people in the front seats.

-.

rarily:

on the remote control,

with the automatic guide-me-home
lighting, on switching off the ignition,

- when you remove the key from
the ignition,

your lighting when cornering.

Programming

The function is activat-
ed or deactivated via
the multifunction screen
confi guration menu.

Operating fault

If a malfunction occurs, this
warning lamp fl ashes on the
instrument panel, accompa-
nied by a message on the
multifunction screen.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop.
When stationary or moving at very
low speed or when reverse gear is
engaged, the system is inactive.
The status of the system remains
in the memory when the ignition is
switched off.
On vehicles fi tted with daytime run-
ning lamps, the function is activated if
the lighting stalk is in the "AUTO"
