Reactivation
In bad weather or in winter, ensure
that the sensors are not covered
with mud, ice or snow. When re-
verse gear is engaged, an audible
signal (long beep) indicates that the
sensors may be dirty.
When the speed of the vehicle is
below about 6 mph (10 km/h), some
sources of noise (motorcycle, lorry,
pneumatic drill, ...) may trigger the
audible parking sensor signals.

 Press button A again, the warn-
ing lamp switches off, the system
is reactivated.
"HYDRACTIVE III +" ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION
The suspension automatically and
instantly adjusts to different driving
styles and to the profi le of the road,
providing the best compromise be-
tween occupant comfort and vehicle
road holding.
The system alternates between soft
and fi rm suspension settings, maxi-
mising comfort at the same time as
constantly ensuring the highest level
of safety. It also automatically cor-
rects ride height, according to the
vehicle load and driving conditions.
In addition, the "Hydractive III +" sys-
tem allows you to choose between
two modes of suspension.
A change of suspension mode can
be made either when the vehicle is
moving or when stationary, by press-
ing button A . Display on the instrument
panel
The suspension mode selected is
displayed on the instrument panel
screen.
Normal mode
This mode favours soft
damping for maximum com-
fort.
If the speed authorised for a
particular position is exceed-
ed, the vehicle reverts automatically
to the normal road position.
SPORT mode
This mode favours dynamic
driving.
The warning lamp on but-
ton A comes on in addition
to the message on the in-
strument panel screen.

SPORT mode is retained when you
switch off the engine.

Vehicle positions
Maximum height
Changing a wheel (not possible if
speed > 6mph (10 km/h)).
Intermediate position
For increased ground clearance (not
possible if speed > 25 mph (40 km/h)).
For use on diffi cult roads when tra-
velling at reduced speed, as well as
on car park ramps.

Position changes may only be
made when the engine is running.
The adjustable ground clearance
meets all types of situation. Apart
from a few specifi c situations, the
vehicle should be in the Normal po-
sition.

 Press once on one of the adjust-
ment controls.
The change in position is indicated
by a message on the instrument
panel screen.
Normal position
If the speed authorised for a particu-
lar position is exceeded, the vehicle
reverts automatically to the normal
position.
Minimum height
To facilitate loading or unloading the
vehicle.
For workshop inspections.
Not to be used in normal driving (not
possible if speed > 6mph (10 km/h)).

BLEEDING THE DIESEL FUEL FILTER
Protective cover
Removal of the cover Bleeding water from the fuel
filter
Bleed regularly (at each oil change).
To bleed the water, slacken the bleed
screw or the water in diesel fuel sen-
sor, located at the base of the fi lter.
Continue until all the water has
fl owed out.
Then retighten the bleed screw or
the water detection sensor.

 Unclip the protective cover to gain
access to the priming pump.
Priming the fuel system
In the event of running out of fuel:

 after fi lling (minimum 5 litres)
and removing the protective cov-
er, operate the manual priming
pump, until some resistance is
felt,

 operate the starter motor while
depressing the accelerator pedal
slightly until the engine starts. HDi engines make use of ad-
vanced technology.
All maintenance and repairs require
special qualifi cations which only a
CITROËN dealer can guarantee.
V6 HDi 240 engine with electric
pump
In the event of running out of fuel:

 after adding fuel, turn the ignition
key to position M , wait for a few
seconds,

 operate the starter motor until
the engine starts.
If the engine fails to start after several
attempts, contact a CITROËN dealer.
If the engine fails to start at the fi rst
attempt, wait fi fteen seconds before
trying again.
If the engine fails to start after a few
attempts, operate the priming pump
again and then try to start the engine.
When the engine is idling, accelerate
slightly to complete the bleeding of
the circuit.

Check all of these levels regularly
and top them up if necessary, unless
otherwise indicated.
If a level drops signifi cantly, have the
corresponding system checked by a

Oil level Oil change
Refer to the Maintenance and
Warranty Guide for details of the in-
terval for this operation.
Oil specifi cation
The oil must correspond to your engine
and conform to the manufacturer's
recommendations. Brake fluid level
Fluid change
Refer to the Maintenance and
Warranty Guide for details of the in-
terval for this operation.
This fl uid must be changed regularly.
Fluid which has been used exces-
sively may cause a loss of braking
effi ciency.
Fluid specifi cation
The brake fl uid must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations
and meet the DOT4 standard.
The reading will only be
correct if the vehicle is on
level ground and the engine
has been off for more than
15 minutes.
The check is carried out either when
the ignition is switched on using the
oil level indicator on the instrument
panel, or using the dipstick.
Check this level also between each
scheduled service and before long
journeys. The brake fl uid level should
be close to the "MAX" mark.
If it is not, check the brake
pad wear.
In order to maintain the reli-
ability of the engine and emis-sion control system, the use
of additives in the engine oil is
prohibited. Power steering fluid or power
steering and suspension
fluid level
This fl uid must be topped up
by a CITROËN dealer.
Dipstick
There are 2 marks on the
dipstick:
-
A = max; never ex-
ceed this level,
- B = min; top up the level
via the oil fi ller cap, us-
ing the type of oil suited
to your engine.
