Manual gearboxEnsure that the gear lever is in the neutral position.
Do not touch the accelerator.For Diesel engines: Turn the key to the drive position. Wait for the preheater warning lamp to go off, if this has come on.
Turn the key to action the starter (not for more than ten seconds), until the engine starts.Note: In ambient temperatures lower than 0°C, depress the clutch while actioning the starter to facili-tate starting. Then release the clutch pedal slowly.

Engine oil temperature gauge
Under normal operating condi-tions, the bars should be within section 1.
In severe operating conditions, the bars may extend into section 2.
In this event, slow down, and if nec-essary, stop the engine and check the levels (see chapter - Mainte-nance - “Levels”).
Fuel gauge
On horizontal ground, the lighting of the fuel low warning lamp warns you that you are using the reserve tank.
A message alert is displayed on the instrument panel.
Coolant temperature indica-tor
Under normal operating condi-tions, the bars should be within section 1.
In severe operating conditions, the bars may extend into section 2, the engine coolant temperature warn-ing lamp A and the STOP warning lamp will light up, stop immedi-ately.Switch off the ignition. The cooling fan may continue to operate for a certain time. Allow the engine to cool down while tak-ing the precautions indicated in chapter - Maintenace - “Levels”.
Contact a CITROËN dealer.
If the SERVICE warning lamp lights up, check the levels (see chapter - Maintenance - “Levels”).

STOP warning lamp

Parking brake
The permanent lighting of this warning lamp confi rms that the parking brake is applied.
If this warning lamp fl ashes, it indi-cates a fault with its application or release. Consult a CITROËN cates a fault with its application application

SERVICE
This warning lamp remains on perma-nently, as long as the fault displayed on the instru-ment panel screen is present (for serious faults).
Consult a CITROËN dealer as soon as possible.
This warning lamp remains on only for a short time for faults that are minor.

ESP/ASR
Operating
If either of the ESP or ASR systems is active, the warning lamp fl ashes.
For a malfunction
With the engine running, the light-ing of this warning lamp along with a message on the instrument panel screen, the lighting of the SERV-ICE warning lamp and a sound signal, indicates a system fault.
Contact a CITROËN dealer.
Deactivation
The lighting of this warning lamp and the light on the ESP deactiva-tion button confi rms that the sys-tem is deactivated.

Coolant temperature
It comes on for a few sec-onds each time you switch on the ignition.
If this warning lamp comes on, engine running, it tells you that the coolant temperature is rising abnormally.
This warning lamp is linked with the STOP warning lamp.
It is essential to stop the vehi-cle.
Check the coolant level.

Seat belt not fastened
This warning lamp is located on the roof console, in front of the front interior lamp. It informs you of the driver and passenger seat belts which are not fastened.
The lit up locations represent the seat positions which are not fas-tened.
Driver's seat belt not fastened:The warning lamp lights up from 0 to 20 km/h (12 mph).Over 20 km/h (12 mph):
the warning lamp fl ashes,a beep is repeated for about 2 minutes with 3 progressive loudness levels.

The simultaneous lighting of the SERVICE warning lamp and the display of the message “Particle fi lter (FAP) addi-tive level too low” on the instrument panel screen indicates that the additive needs to be topped up.
Contact a CITROËN dealer as soon as possible.

In addition to the catalytic converter, this fi lter contributes actively to the preserving of air quality, by collecting the polluting particles that have not been burnt off. Black exhaust fumes are thus eliminated.
Clogging of the particle fi lter
Clogging is caused by the particle fi lter starting to be saturated (owing to exceptionally long periods spent driving in urban conditions : low speeds, traffi c jams, etc.).
In order to regenerate the fi lter you are advised to drive as soon as possible, when traffi c condition s allow, at a speed of 60 km/h or more for at least 5 minutes. Note: If the vehicle has been running for long periods at very low speeds or at idle, vapour emissions may be seen coming from the exhaust under acceleration. These have no consequ ences for the running of the vehicle or for the environment.
The simultaneous lighting of the SERVICE warning lamp and the display of the message “Risk of saturation of par-ticle fi lter (FAP)” on the instrument panel screen indicates an increased risk of saturation.
Contact a CITROËN dealer as soon as possible.

Direction indicators
Left, downwards.
Right, upwards.
For a change of direction, move the control stalk beyond the tight spot. The indicator is automatically cancelled when the steering wheel returns to its normal position.
“Motorway” function
Move the stalk briefl y upwards or downwards, without going beyond the resistance point; the direction indicators will fl ash 3 times.
Hazard warning lamps
This operates all the direction indi-cators simultaneously.
Only use them to indicate dan-ger, for an emergency stop or for driving in abnormal conditions.
The hazard lamps can also be used with the ignition switched off.
The direction indicators cannot operate if the hazard warning lamps are on.
Emergency operation of haz-ard warning lamps
A sudden deceleration of the vehi-cle causes the hazard lamps to come on automatically.
They will cease to operate auto-matically, or manually if you press the hazard lamps button on the dashboard.

The Welcome function
When the driver's door is opened and the ignition is off, the seat moves to ease accessing or leav-ing the vehicle.
You may activate or deactivate this function using the “Main Menu” on the instrument panel screen. To do so, select “Vehicle parameters / Comfort / Driver welcome”.
Head restraint height and angle adjustments on elec-tric seats
To adjust the angle of the head restraint, push back or pull forward section C of the head restraint until you reach the desired position.
To raise it, pull upwards.
To lower it, press on the control Dto unlock it, and simultaneously on the head restraint itself.
To raise it, press control D to unlock it, then pull it upwards.
0: Off.
1: Gentle.
2: Medium.
3: Strong.
Controls for the heated seats
The front seats can be heated indi-vidually. With the engine running, use control A, located beside the seats to choose between three heating levels:
Massage function
This function provides the driver with a back massage.
To activate the massage, with the engine runnuing, press on but-ton B. The warning lamp comes on and the massage function is acti-vated for a period of 1 hour. During this time, massage is performed in cycles of 6 minutes (4 minutes of massage followed by 2 minutes break). In total, the system will per-form 10 cycles.
After 1 hour, the function is deacti-vated. The warning lamp goes out.
You can deactivate the massage function at any time by pressing on button B.

Functioning of the interior and exterior rear view mir-rors
