Changing the battery
The remote control is supplied by a
6V-28L battery, which is supplied.
Information on the display indicates
when it is time to replace this battery.
Unclip the casing then replace the
battery.
The remote control must then be re-
initialised, see below. Always switch off the program-
m a b l e h e a t i n g w h i l e fi l l i n g w i t h
f u e l t o a v o i d a n y r i s k o f fi r e o r e x -
plosion.
To avoid any risk of poisoning and
asphyxiation, the programmable
heating must not be used, even
for short periods, in an enclosed
space such as a garage or work-
shop which is not equipped with an
exhaust gas extraction system.
Do not park the vehicle on an
i n fl a m m a b l e s u r f a c e ( d r y g r a s s ,
dead leaves, paper…), there is a
r i s k o f fi r e .
The programmable heating sys-
tem is supplied by the vehicle's fuel
tank. Before use, ensure that the
quantity of fuel remaining is suf-
fi c i e n t . I f t h e f u e l t a n k i s a t t h e r e -
serve, we strongly advise that you
do not programme the heating.
Do not discard the used bat-
teries, take them to an ap-
proved collection point.
Reinitialising the remote control
If the vehicle's battery is disconnect-
ed or the remote control's battery is
replaced, the remote control must
be reinitialised.
After switching on the power, press
button 4 (OFF) for 1 second within
the next 5 seconds. If the operation
has taken place correctly the mes-
sage "OK" is displayed on the re-
mote control screen.
If a problem occurs, the message
"FAIL" appears. Repeat the operation.
In addition, your programmable
heating can be to pre-heat your
vehicle's passenger compart-
ment. The interior volumetric protection
alarm movement sensor may be
d i s t u r b e d b y t h e fl o w o f a i r f r o m
the programmable heating when
it is in operation.
To avoid any unexpected trigger-
ing of the alarm during use of the
programmable heating, it is ad-
visable to deactivate the interior
volumetric protection.

o f a g r i p o r t r a j e c t o r y p r o b l e m . T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y fl a s h i n g
o f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p o n t h e
i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l . Deactivation
I n e x c e p t i o n a l c o n d i t i o n s ( s t a r t i n g a
v e h i c l e w h i c h i s b o g g e d d o w n , s t u c k
i n s n o w , o n s o f t g r o u n d . . . ) , i t m a y b e
advisable to deactivate the ASR and
E S P s y s t e m s , s o t h a t t h e w h e e l s
c a n m o v e f r e e l y a n d r e g a i n g r i p .
Press the "ESP OFF" b u t t o n , l o -
cated in the centre of the dash-
board.
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s
o n i n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l
a n d t h e i n d i c a t o r l a m p o n
t h e b u t t o n c o m e s o n , t h i s
indicates that the ASR and
E S P s y s t e m s a r e d e a c t i v a t e d .
For vehicles with Hydractive III +
s u s p e n s i o n , m a n u a l a d j u s t m e n t o f
g r o u n d c l e a r a n c e t o t h e i n t e r m e d i a t e
p o s i t i o n i m p r o v e s f u r t h e r t h e a b i l i t y
t o m a k e p r o g r e s s i n d e e p s n o w ( s e e
the relevant paragraph).
I n e x t r e m e l y s e v e r e c o n d i t i o n s ( s n o w
o n t o p o f i c e , s a n d , d e e p m u d … ) , i t
c a n b e u s e f u l t o d e a c t i v a t e t h e
ESP/
ASR s y s t e m s t o a l l o w a d e g r e e o f
wheel spin and so recover grip.
T h e a n t i - s k i d r e g u l a t i o n ( a l s o k n o w n
a s T r a c t i o n C o n t r o l ) o p t i m i s e s t r a c -
tion to prevent skidding of the wheels,
by acting on the brakes of the driving
wheels and on the engine.
T h e e l e c t r o n i c s t a b i l i t y p r o g r a m m e
a c t s o n t h e b r a k e o f o n e o r m o r e
wheels and on the engine to keep
t h e v e h i c l e o n t h e t r a j e c t o r y r e q u i r e d
b y t h e d r i v e r , w i t h i n t h e l i m i t s o f t h e
