Advice on child seats

The incorrect in

t in
a

keeping the slack

to a minimum ,
even
for short journeys.
To insta

ing t

seat belt, ensure that the belt is well tightened on the child seat and that it holds the child seat firmly against the vehicle's seat
.

For o
ptimum installation o
f the "
forward
facin
g" child seat, ensure that the back o
f
the c
hild
seat
is in contact w
ith the back
of the vehicle's seat and that the head restraint does not cause any discom
fort.

If the head restraint has to be removed
,
ensure that it is stored or attached securely to prevent it from being thrown around the vehicle in the event of sharp brakin
g.

Children under the age of 10 must not travelin the "for ward facing" position on the front passen
ger seat, unless the rear seats are
alrea
dy occup
ied by other c
hild
ren, cannot
be used
or are abse
nt.

Deactivate the passen
ger airba
g * when a
"rear
facing" child seat is installed on the
front seat.
Other wise, the child would risk being seriously injured or killed if the airbag were to infl
ate.
