switched on automatically, without any action on the par t of the driver, when a low level of external light is detected or in cer tain cases of activation of the windscreen wipers. As soon as the brightness returns to a sufficient level or after the windscreen wipers are switched off, the lamps are switched off automatically.
Automatic illumination of headlamps
Activation
Turn ring A to the A"AUTO" position. The automatic illumination of headlamps is accompanied by a message on the multifunction screen.
Deactivation
 Turn ring A to a position other than "AUTO" . Deactivation is accompanied by a message on the multifunction screen.
Coupling with the automatic "Guide-me-home" lighting
Association with the automatic illumination of headlamps provides "guide-me-home" lighting with the following additional options: - selection of the lighting duration to
15, 30 or 60 seconds in the vehicle parameters on the multifunction screen configuration menu (except in the case of the monochrome screen A, for which the duration is set: 60 seconds), - automatic activation of "guide-me-home" lighting when automatic lighting is in operation.
Operating fault
In the event of a fault with the brightness sensor, the lighting come on, this warning lamp is displayed on the instrument panel and/or a message appears on the multifunction screen, accompanied by an audible signal. Consult a CITROËN dealer.
In fog or snow, the brightness sensor may detect sufficient light. Therefore, the lighting will not come on
automatically. Do not cover the brightness sensor, coupled with the rain sensor and located in the centre of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror; the associated functions would no longer be controlled.

101Visibility
LED lamps
Daytime external lighting using specific front lamp s providing a signature of the vehicle. Comprising two sets of six diodes, they are located in the ver tic al scoops below each headlamp.
On star ting the vehicle, in daylight the LED lamps come on automatically, if the lighting stalk is in position "0" or "AUTO" . If the dipped beam headlamps are switched on manually or automatically, the LED lamps
switch off.
For countries where exterior lighting by day is not a legal requirement, you can activate
or deativate the function via the multifunction screen configuration menu.
Headlamp
adjustment
To avoid causing a nuisance to other road T Tusers, the height of the headlamps should be adjusted in relation to the load in the vehicle. 0. Driver only or driver + front passenger. - . Intermediate setting 1. 5 people.
- . 5 people + load in the boot. 2. Driver only + maximum authorised load in the boot. This position is sufficient to avoid causing dazzle. Higher settings may limit the spread of light from the headlamps. from the headlamps.
The initial setting is position "0" .
Programming
In countries where it is a legal requirement: - this function is activated by default and cannot be deactivated, - in daylight, the sidelamps and number plate lamps also come on, - If the dipped beam headlamps are switched on manually or automatically, the LED lamps switch off.

This is controlled manually by the driver by pushing stalk A to the "AUTO" position.
It is accompanied by the lighting of this indicator lamp in the instrument panel and a message on the multifunction screen.
Switching off
This is controlled manually by the driver by moving stalk A upwards, returning it to
position "0" .
It is accompanied by the indicator lamp in the instrument panel switching off and a message on the multifunction screen.
The automatic wiping must be reactivated if the ignition has been off for more than one minute, by pushing stalk A downwards.

In this position, the cour tesy lamp comes on gradually:

- when the vehicle is unlocked, - when the key is removed from the ignition, - when a door is opened, - when the remote control locking button is activated, in order to locate your vehicle.
It switches off gradually: - when the vehicle is locked, - when the ignition is switched on, - 30 seconds after the last door is closed.
Permanently off.
Permanent lighting.
With the "permanent lighting" mode, the duration of lighting varies, depending on the circumstances: - with the ignition off, approximately ten minutes, - in energy economy mode, approximately thir ty seconds, - with the engine running, unlimited.
Map reading lamps
 With the ignition on, press the corresponding switch.

107Visibility
Interior mood lighting
The dimmed passenger compar tment lighting improves v isibility in the vehicle when the light is poor.
Switching on
At night, the illumination of footwells and the central dashboard storage compar tment comes on automatically when the sidelamps are switched on.
Switching off
The interior mood lighting switches off automatically when the sidelamps are switched off. It can be switched off manually using the instrument panel lighting rheostat button.  With the lighting on, press several times on the left hand button of the instrument panel to progressively reduce the dashboard lighting level.  Press again to reduce the lighting level to the minimum and switch off the interior mood lighting.
This comes on automatically when the boot is opened and switches off automatically when the boot is closed.
Boot lamp
Different lighting times are provided: - when the ignition is off,
approximately ten minutes, - in energy economy mode, approximately thir ty seconds, - when the engine is running, no limit.

Fittings
Component which protects against sunlight from the front or the side, also equipped with an illuminated cour tesy mirror.  With the ignition on, raise the concealing flap; the mirror is lit automatically. This sun visor is also equipped with a ticket holder.
Sun visor Illuminated glove box
This can be used to hold a water bottle. Its lid has a location for storing the vehicle's handbook pack.  To open the glove box, raise the handle. It is lit when the lid is opened. It houses the front passenger airbag deactivation switch A . If the vehicle is fitted with air conditioning, it provides access to the ventilation nozzle B , distributing the same conditioned air as the
vents in the passenger compar tment.
Centre armrest
Storage
 For access to the closed storage box, lift the lever to open the lid.  For access to the open storage box below
the armrest, lift the complete armrest towards the rear. These can be used for por table devices (mobile phone, MP3 player ...) which can be connected to the USB por t /Jack socket or charged from the 12 V socket in the centre console.
Comfor t and storage system for the driver and front passenger.

Fittings
To remove the shelf:  unhook the two cords,  raise the shelf slightly, then unclip it on each side.
Rear parcel shelf
 Raise the boot carpet by pulling the strap upwards to gain access to the storage box. This has areas for storing a temporary puncture repair kit, a box of spare bulbs, a first aid kit,
two warning triangles, ...
Storage box
 refit the boot floor carpet by folding it slightly in the middle.

Direction indicators
Selection of the left or right direction indicators to signal a change of direction of the vehicle.  Left: lower the lighting stalk beyond the point of resistance.
 Right: raise the lighting stalk beyond the point of resistance.
"Motorway" function
 Press briefly upwards or downwards, without going beyond the point of resistance; the direction indicators will flash 3 times.
Hazard warning
lamps
A visual warning by means of the direction indicators to aler t other road users to a vehicle breakdown, towing or accident.  Press this button, the direction indicators
flash. They can operate with the ignition off.
