For economical driving, caring for the environment


The fuel consumptionof a vehicle varies greatly:


- according to the driver's style of driving
(moderate, aggressive, fast, ...),

- accordin
g to the type of journeys
made (urban, main road, motor way, flowing, heavy traffic, …) and the speed.


Main recommendations for driving economically

Hybrid mode selector

To optimise fuel consumption, use the Automodeof the selector whenever possible (the mode is activated
automatically when starting) including for urban journeys.
This mode optimises the use of the energy sources (internal combustion engine and/or electric) contrary to other modes, which are for use in par ticular cases.


Gear lever
Use the automatic

as much as possible as this optimises gear changes to suit the requirements.


Causes of high consumption and checks
As with any vehicle, limit overloading, wind resistance (windows open above 30 mph (50 km/h), roof bars, loaded or not, …), the use of power consumers (air conditioning, heated seats, heated rear screen, …).
Obser ve the recommendations on checks (regular check of tyre pressures, correct tyre pressures, …) and routine servicing.



Drive smoothly
Stay in the "eco" zone
displayed in the energy consumption / generation indicator: accelerate gently, drive at steadyspeeds using the speed limiter or cruise control as soon as possible.Use the "charge" zone: anticipate the need to slow down by taking your foot off the accelerator rather than braking.
The movement of the energy consumption / generation indicator needle (into the "charge" zone), shows the level of energy recovery.

Eco-driving
Eco-driving is a range of everyday practices that allow the motorist to optimise their fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Eco-driving suited to your
Hybrid4 vehicle
Use gear selector position A , as thisoptimises gear changes to suit the circumstances, and the AUTOmode of theHybrid4 mode selector.When moving off, accelerate normally up tothe desired speed ( POWER
zone between20 and 40 %). At steady speeds, drive gently with smallmovements of the accelerator pedal (ECOor CHARGEzone), run in electric mode as oftenas possible when driving at low speed. Anticipate the need to slow down and useengine braking ( CHARGE
zone), so as to make use of free energy recovery while keeping light pressure on the accelerator pedal.

Before moving off, if the passenger compartment is too warm, ventilate it byopening the windows and air vents beforeusing the air conditioning.
Above 30 mph (50 km/h), close the windowsand leave the air vents open. Remember to make use of equipment that can help keep the temperature in the passenger compar tment down (sun roof andwindow blinds...).Switch off the air conditioning, unless it has automatic digital regulation, as soon as the desired temperature is attained.Switch off the demisting and defrostingcontrols, if not automatic.Switch off the heated seat as soon as possible.
Switch off the headlamps and front foglampswhen the level of light does not require their use.

Avoid running the Diesel engine when stationary, par ticularly in winter; your vehiclewill warm up much faster while driving.

As a passenger, if you avoid connecting your multimedia devices (film, music, video game...), you will contribute towards limitingthe consumption of electrical energy, and soof fuel.
Disconnect your por table devices beforeleaving the vehicle.

locking of the vehicle using the lock or from adistance. It is also used to locate and start thevehicle, as well as providing protection against
theft.

Unlocking is confirmed by rapid flashing of the direction indicators for around two seconds.
At the same time, depending onversion, the door mirrors unfold.

Locking the vehicle


Locking is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approximately two seconds.
The door mirrors fold at the same time.

the vehicle completely. Hold the button down until the
windows close completely.

Locking the vehicle
)With the electronic key in the definedzone A , press with a finger on one of the
door handles (at the markings) to lock the
vehicle.
Maintain pressure with your finger until the
windows close completely.
Locking is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approximately two seconds.The door mirrors fold at the same time.
If one of the doors or the boot is still open or if the key for Keyless Entry and Starting has been left inside the vehicle,the central locking does not take place. When the vehicle is locked, if it isunlocked inadvertently, it will lock itself again automatically after about thir ty seconds unless a door is opened.
The folding and unfolding of the door mirrors by the remote control can bedeactivated by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

As a safety measure (children onboard), never leave the vehicle without taking the key for the Keyless Entry andStarting system, even for a shor t period.Guard against theft when the key for the Keyless Entry and Starting systemis in the defined zone with the vehicle unlocked.In order to preser ve the charge of the cell battery in the remote control, the"hands-free" functions go into extended stand-by after 21 days of non-use. To restore these functions, press one of the remote control buttons or start theengine with the electronic key in the reader.

Ensure that no one prevents the correct operation of the windows.Be aware of children when operatingthe windows.

Deadlocking
Deadlocking renders the exterior and
interior door controls inoperative. It also deactivates the manual centralcontrol button. Therefore, never leave anyone inside the vehicle when it is deadlocked.
Using the remote control
) Press the closed padlock to lockthe vehicle completely.
Maintain pressure with your finger for more than two seconds to close the windows. ) Press the closed padlock again within fiveseconds to deadlock the vehicle.

with no action on the pedals, allows the ignition
to be switched on and so activate the ancillary
equipment.

If you use the accessory position for too long, the system automatically goes intoeconomy mode to avoid the risk of a flat

System which protects and provides a deterrent
against theft and break-ins. It provides the
following types of monitoring:





Alarm


- Exterior perimeter

The system checks for opening of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to open adoor, the boot or the bonnet...




- Interior volumetric

The system checks for any variation in the
volume in the passenger compartment.
The alarm is triggered if anyone breaks a
window, enters the passenger compar tment or moves inside the vehicle.
- Tilt
The system checks for any change in the attitude of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if the vehicle is lifted,
moved or knocked.


Self-protection function
The system checks for the putting out of ser vice of its components. The alarm is triggered if the battery, thebutton or the wires of the siren are putout of ser vice or damaged.
For all work on the alarm system, contact a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.
Locking the vehicle with full
alarm system

Press the locking button on the

emote control or lock the vehicleusing the Keyless Entry and Starting system. The monitoring system is active: the indicator
lam
p in the button flashes once per second.
After the locking button on the remote control
is pressed or the vehicle locked using the
Keyless Entry and Star ting system, the exterior
perimeter monitoring is activated after a delay of 5 seconds, the interior volumetric monitoring after 45 seconds and the anti-tilt after one
minute and 30 seconds.
If an opening (door, boot...) is not closed fully, the vehicle is not locked but the exterior
perimeter monitoring will be activated after a
delay of 45 seconds.
) Press the unlocking button on
the remote control or unlock the
vehicle using the Keyless Entryand Star ting system.

Deactivation of the volumetric monitoring
The volumetric protection system is deactivated: the indicator lamp in the button goes off.

Deactivate the interior volumetric and anti-liftmonitoring to avoid unwanted triggering of thealarm in certain cases such as:
- leaving a window par tially open,
- washing your vehicle,

To be effective, this deactivation must be carried out each time the ignition is switchedoff.


Reactivation of the interior
volumetric and anti-tilt monitoring

Tr iggering of the alarm


This is indicated by sounding of the siren
and flashing of the direction indicators for
thirty seconds.
The monitoring
functions remain active until
the alarm has been triggered eleven times in
succession.
)Press the unlocking button on
the remote control or unlock thevehicle using the Keyless Entry and Starting system to deactivate
the exterior perimeter monitoring.
) Press the locking button on theremote control or lock the vehicle
using the Keyless Entry and Starting system to activate all the monitoring functions.
The indicator lamp in the button
again flashes once per second.

When the vehicle is unlocked usin
gthe remote control or unlockedusing the Keyless Entry and Starting
system, rapid flashing of the indicator lamp in the button informs you that the alarm
was triggered during your absence. When
the i
gnition is switched on, this flashing stops
immediately.



Failure of the remote control

To deactivate the monitoring functions:
)Unlock the vehicle using the key (integral with
the remote control) in the driver's door lock. )Open the door; the alarm is triggered.)Switch on the ignition; the alarm stops. The
indicator lamp in the button goes off.

Locking the vehicle without
activating the alarm
)Lock or deadlock the vehicle using the key(integral with the remote control) in the driver's door lock.




Operating fault


When the ignition is switched on, fixed
illumination of the indicator lamp in the button
indicates a fault in the s
ystem. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a y
qualified workshop.

Automatic activation *



2 minutes after the last door or the boot isclosed, the system is activated automatically. )To avoid triggering the alarm on entering
the vehicle, first press the unlocking buttonon the remote control or unlock the vehicleusing the Keyless Entry and Starting system.

Manual operation
To open or close the window, press or pull theswitch gently. The window stops as soon as the switch is released.
Automatic o

To open or close the window, press or pull
switch fully: the window opens or closes completely when the switch is released.
Pressing the switch again stops the movement of the window.
The electric window switches remain operational for approximately 45 seconds after switching off the ignition.
Once this time has elapsed, the electric
windows will not operate. To reactivate them,
switch the ignition on again. 4
