With the ignition on or the engine running, torelease the parking brake, press the brakepedal, pullthen release control lever A.
The full release of the parking brake isconfirmed by:

Manual release

- the braking warning lamp and
the Pwarning lamp in the control lever A going off,

- display of the message "Parking brake off".
I
f you pull the control lever A
without pressing
the brake pedal, the parking brake will not
be released and a message appears in the
instrument panel.
I
f necessary, you can make a maximum application
of the parking brake. It is obtained
by means of a long pull
on control lever A
,
until you see the message "Parking brake
applied fully" and an audible signal is heard.
Maximum application is essential:

- in the case of a vehicle towing a caravan
or a trailer, if the automatic functions are activated but you are applying the parking
brake manually,

- when the slope
you are parked on may
vary (e.g. on a ferry, on a lorry, duringtowing).

Maximum application

In the case of towing, a loaded vehicle or parking on a gradient, make amaximum application of the parking brake then turn the front wheels towardsthe pavement and engage a gear when you park.
After a maximum application, therelease time will be longer.

Before leaving the vehicle, check thatparking brake warning lamps in the instrument panel and the control lever Aare on fixed, not flashing.
With the vehicle stationary, to apply the parkingbrake whether the engine is running or off, pullcontrol lever A.
Manual application
The application of the parking brake is confirmed by:

- illumination of the brakin
g warning
lamp and of the P warning lamp in
the control lever A,
- display of the message "Parkingbrake on".
When the driver
’s door is opened with the engine running, there is an audible signal and amessage is displayed if the parking brake has not been applied, unless the selector lever is
in position P (Park) in the case of an automatic
gearbox.

)With your foot on the brake, selectposition P or N . )Star t the engine.
I
f this procedure is not followed, an audiblesignal is heard, accompanied by a message in
the instrument panel screen.)With the engine running, press the brake pedal. )Release the parking brake, unless it is programmed to automatic mode.)Select position R, Dor M.)Gradually release the brake pedal.
The vehicle moves off immediately.

Moving off
When the engine is running at idle, with the brakes released, if position R , Dor M
is selected, the vehicle moveseven without the accelerator beingpressed. When the engine is running, never leave children in the vehicle withoutsupervision. When carrying out maintenance withthe engine running, apply the parking brake and select position P.P

If position N
is engaged inadver tentlywhile driving, allow the engine toreturn to idle then engage position Dto accelerate.
Never select position Nwhile thevehicle is moving. Never select positions Por R
unlessthe vehicle is completely stationary.

Automatic operation
)
Select position D
for automatic
changing
of the six gears.
The gearbox then operates in auto-adaptive
mo
de, without any intervention on the par t of the driver. It continuously selects the
most suitable gear according to the style of
driving, the profile of the road and the load in
the vehicle.
For maximum acceleration without touching
the lever, press the accelerator pedal down
fully (kick down). The gearbox changes down
automatically or maintains the gear selected
until the maximum engine speed is reached.
On braking, the gearbox changes down
automatically to provide efficient engine
braking.
I
f you release the accelerator sharply,
the gearbox will not change to a higher gear for safety reasons.

Invalid value during manual
operation
This symbol is displayed if a gear
is not engaged correctly (selector
between two positions).

Stopping the vehicle

Before switching off the engine, put the lever in position Por N
to place the gearbox in neutral.
In both cases, apply the parking brake toimmobilise the vehicle, unless it is programmed
to automatic mode.

If the lever is not in position P
, when thePdriver's door is opened or approximately45 seconds after the ignition is switched off, there is an audible signal and amessage appears. )
Return the lever to position P
; the audible signal stops and the message disappears.
Operating fault
When the ignition is on, a message appears in the instrument panel screen to indicate agearbox fault.
In this case, the gearbox switches to back-up
mode and is locked in 3rd
gear. You may feel a substantial knock when changing from Pto R
and from Nto R. This will not cause anydamage to the gearbox.
Do not exceed 60 mph (10 0 km/h), local speedrestrictions permitting.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.
You risk damaging the gearbox:

- if you press the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time,

- if you force the lever from position Pto another position when the batteryis flat.

To reduce fuel consumption whenstationary for long periods with theengine running (traffic jam...), position
the gear lever at Nand apply theparking brake, unless it is programmed in automatic mode.

Reversing camera

A reversing camera is activated automatically
when reverse gear is engaged.
The colour image is provided in the navigationscreen. The
green lines represent the general direction of the vehicle.
The red lines represent around 30 cm beyond
the limit of your vehicle's rear bumper. The
audible signal becomes continuous from thislimit.
The blue lines represent the maximum turningcircle.

Clean the reversing camera regularly using a sponge and a soft cloth.

switched on automatically, without any action
on the par t of the driver, when a low level of
external light is detected or in certain cases of activation of the windscreen wipers.
As soon as the brightness returns to a sufficient
level or after the windscreen wipers are switched
off, the lamps are switched off automaticall
y.
Automatic illumination of headlamps
Activation
)Turn the ring to the "AU TO "position, automatic illumination of headlamps is activated and a message is displayed in
the screen.

Deactivation
)Turn the ring to another position. Deactivation is accompanied by a message in the screen.

Association with the automatic "Guide-me-home" lighting

Association with the automatic lighting provides
the "guide-me-home" lighting with the followingadditional options after the ignition is switched off:

- selection of the lighting duration of 15, 30or 60 seconds in the vehicle parameters in
the vehicle configuration menu,

- automatic activation of "guide-me-home"lighting when automatic illumination of headlamps is in operation.

Operating fault

In the event of a malfunctionof the sunshine sensor,
the lighting comes on, this
warning lamp is displayed in the instrumentpanel and/or a message appears in the screen,
accompanied by an audible signal.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
wor
kshop.
In fog or snow, the sunshine sensor may detect sufficient light. In this case, thelighting will not come on automatically. Do not cover the sunshine sensor, coupled with the rain sensor andlocated in the centre of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror;the associated functions would nolonger be controlled.

Parking lamps
Side markers for the vehicle by illumination of
the sidelamps on the traffic side only.)Within one minute of switching off the
ignition, operate the lighting control stalk
up or down depending on the traffic side(for example: when parking on the left; lighting control stalk upwards; the righthand sidelamps are on).
This is confirmed by an audible signal and
illumination of the corresponding direction
indicator warning lamp in the instrument panel.
To switch off the parking lamps, return the
lighting control stalk to the middle position or switch on the ignition. Temporarily keeping the dipped beam
headlamps on a
fter the vehicle's ignition has been switched off makes the exit of the vehicle's
occupants easier when the light is poor.

ghting

Switching on
)
Within one minute after switching of the
ignition, "flash" the headlamps using the lighting stalk.) A further "headlamp flash" switches thefunction off.

Switching off

The manual guide-me-home lighting switches
off automatically after a set time (this time is
pro
grammable in the configuration menu).

The system may suffer interference or not work correctly:

- under conditions of poor visibility(for example, snowfall, heavy rain or thick fog, ...),

- if the windscreen is dir ty, misted or obscured (by a sticker, ...) in front of the camera,

- if the vehicle is facing highly reflective signs.

The system is not able to detect:

- road users that do not have their own lighting, such as pedestrians,

- road users whose lighting isobscured, such as vehicles running behind a safety barrier (on amotorway, for example),

- road users at the top or bottom of a steep slope, on twisty roads, oncrossroads.
