Engage the rear door security locks
1. Open a rear door and insert your
ignition key into the lock.
2. On the driver’s side rear door, turn
the key clockwise to engage the rear
door security lock (turn it counterclockwise on the opposite side reardoor).
3. Close the door.
Open the rear door when the security
lock is on
• Unlock and open the door from
outside the vehicle.
Return the rear doors to normal use
• On the driver’s side rear door, insert
the key and turn the lock counterclockwise (turn it clockwise on theopposite side rear door).

Passenger Airbag Status
Indicator
Your vehicle is equipped with a
Passenger Sensing System located inthe front passenger seat for the front
passenger frontal airbag, and a passenger airbag status indicator located onthe center of the instrument panel.
See Sections 1 and 3 of your Owner Manual.
Note:It is recommended that children
not be placed in the front passengerseat, even with the Passenger Sensing
System. All children should be securedin a rear seat, including an infant ridingin a rearfacing infant seat, a child ridingin a forwardfacing child seat or an olderchild riding in a booster seat.
Content TheftDeterrent System
(if equipped)
If your vehicle has the Remote Keyless
Entry (RKE) system, it also has a content theftdeterrent alarm system.
The content theft
deterrent system isarmed when youlock the doors withthe RKE transmitterand all the doorsare closed. If thelock button on the RKE transmitter ispressed with a door open, the horn willchirp several times. Close the door to
arm the system. The security light will
flash when the system is armed.
The system will not be armed if the
doors are locked with a key, the manualdoor lock or the power door lock switch.
Alarm System
If a locked door is not opened using the
RKE transmitter or by OnStar, the horn
will chirp for several seconds and then
the alarm will sound. The alarm will flashthe front turn signal lamps and soundthe horn for two minutes.
To prevent the alarm from sounding,
unlock the doors using the RKE trans
mitter. To turn off the alarm, press theunlock button on the RKE transmitter or
start the engine using the correct key.
PASSlock®
Your vehicle also is equipped with the
PASSlock theftdeterrent system thatrequires the correct key be used to startthe engine. If the correct key is not usedor the ignition lock cylinder is tamperedwith, the fuel system is disabled and theengine will not start.

Manual/Power Lumbar
(if equipped)
The manual lumbar control knob is
located on the outboard side of the driver’s seat. Turn the knob counterclock
wise to increase lumbar support andclockwise to decrease lumbar support.
The power lumbar control switches for
the driver and passenger seats arelocated on the outboard side of theseats.
See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.
Preventing Window Fogging
To clear fog or frost from the windshield
or side windows, turn the airflow controlknob to one of the following modes:
(Floor/Defog):Use to clear the
windows of moisture and to warm
passengers. This mode splits the air delivery between the windshield and thefloor outlets.
(Defrost):Use to remove fog or
frost from the windshield more quickly.This mode directs most of the air to the windshield.
When you select the floor/defog or
defrost mode, the system automatically
turns off the recirculation mode and runsthe air conditioning compressor. The
recirculation mode cannot be selected
because outside air is needed to removeinterior moisture from the vehicle.

ENTERTAINMENT
Audio Systems
AM/FM Stereo (if equipped)
Set the clock on the AM/FM stereo
radio
•Press and hold the HR button until
the correct hour appears.
• Press and hold MIN until the correct
minute appears.
Display the time with the ignition off
• Press RCL, HR or MIN.
Presetting Radio Stations
You can set up to 18 station presets
(six AM, six FM1 and six FM2) using the
process shown below.
Set a station
1.Turn the radio on.
2. Press the BAND button to select the
band (AM, FM1 or FM2).
3. Tune to the desired station using the
seek function or tune knob.
4.Press AUTO EQ or AUTO TONE (on
equipped audio systems, as applies
to your radio) to select the soundequalization best suiting the type ofstation selected.
5.Press/hold a numbered button until a
beep confirms storage of the station.
6. Repeat the previous steps for each
pushbutton.

AM/FM Stereo with CD/MP3 and
Radio Data System (if equipped)
Set the clock on RDSequipped radios
• Press and hold HR and MN simul
taneously for two seconds until
UPDATED and the clock symbol
appear on the display.
If the time is not available from the
station, NO UPDAT will appear.
Using the RDS
Radios equipped with RDS mode allow
you to:
• Seek only stations with your
preferred programming type.
• Seek stations with traffic
announcements.
• Receive announcements of local
and/or national emergencies.
•Receive and display messages from
radio stations.
RDS features are available only on FM
stations that broadcast RDS information.When tuned to an RDS station, the radiodisplays the station name instead of the
frequency. Most RDS stations broadcasttheir station name, time of day and a
Program Type (PTY).
Access the traffic announcement
feature
• Press the TRAF button.
Access radio station messages
• Press the INFO button when INFO
appears on your radio display.
Access Program Type selections
1. To turn Program Type on, press the
SEEK TYPE button once.
2. Turn the PTYPE knob to select the
Program Type you want.
3. Press the SEEK or SEEK TYPE but
ton and the radio seeks to the firstavailable RDS broadcast of the
selected Program Type.
4. To turn Program Type off (while
seeking), press the SEEK or SEEKTYPE button, or wait for the seek tocomplete. All stations will now be
available when you press the SEEK
button.
Activate the Alternate Frequency
feature
• Press and hold the BAND button for
two seconds to turn it on; repeat to
turn it off.
When turned on, AF ON appears on the
radio display and the radio may switch
to stronger stations of the same PTY.
ALERT!
This message appears on the display
when a local or national emergency
announcementis available. If a CD is
playing, the announcement will override
it. ALERT! announcements cannot beturned off, and are not affected by tests
of the Emergency Broadcast System.
