To change the letter, select the
previous segment by pushing the
bottom of the SEEK button.
Turn the TUNE knob to change a
letter.
Push the top of the SEEK button
to select the next segment, then
turn the TUNE knob to select a
letter. Repeat this procedure to set
your message. The system will return to the audio
display about 5 seconds af ter you
stop selecting a letter.

To load or play discs, the ignition
switch must be in the ACCESSORY
(I) or ON (II) position.
This audio system can also play
CD-Rs and CD-RWs compressed in
MP3 or WMA f ormats. When
playing a disc in MP3, you will see
‘‘MP3’’ in the display. In WMA
f ormat, ‘‘WMA’’ will appear in the
display. You can select up to 255
folders or tracks. NOTE:
If a f ile on an MP3 or WMA disc is
protected by digital rights
management (DRM), the audio unit
displays FORMAT, and then skips to
the next f ile.
Insert a disc about half way into the
disc slot. The drive will pull the disc
intherestof thewaytoplayit.You
operate the disc player with the
same controls used f or the radio.
The number of the current track and
the elapsed time are shown in the
display. When playing a disc in MP3
or WMA, the numbers of the current
f older and f ile, and the elapsed time
are shown. The system will
continuously play a disc until you

¼ Use the SEEK/SKIP button while a
disc is playing to select passages and
change tracks (f iles in MP3/WMA
mode).
Each time you
press and release the side of
the SEEK/SKIP button, the player
skips forward to the beginning of the
next track (f ile in MP3 or WMA
mode). Press and release the side to skip backward to the
beginning of the current track. Press
itagaintoskiptothebeginningof
the previous track.
To move rapidly within a track, press
and hold the or side of the
SEEK/SKIP button.
With the f older name, you will see
the FOLDER indicator in the display.
The TRACK indicator is shown with
the file or track name.
You cannot load and play 3-inch
(8-cm)discsinthissystem.
Each time you press the DISP button,
the display shows you the text data
on a disc, if the disc was recorded
with text data.
You can see the album, artist, and
track name in the display. If a disc is
recorded in MP3 or WMA, you can
see the f older and f ile name, and the
album, artist, and track tag.
The display shows up to about 16
characters of selected text data (the
foldername,filename,etc.).If the
text data has more than 16
characters, you will see the f irst 15
characters and the indicator in the display. Press and hold the DISP
button until the next 16 characters
are shown.
You will also see some text data
under these conditions:
When a new f older, f ile, or track is
selected.
When you change the audio mode
to play a disc with text data or in
MP3 or WMA.
When you insert a disc, and the
system begins to play.
When playing a CD-DA with text
data, the album and track name are
showninthedisplay.Withadiscin
MP3 or WMA, the display shows the
f older and f ile name.

To
select a different folder, turn the
TUNE knob to move to the
beginning of the next f older. Turn
the knob to the right until it clicks
once to skip to the next folder, and to
the lef t to move to the beginning of
the previous f older. Turning the
TUNE knob more than two clicks
skips several f olders.
To continuously replay
a track (f iles in MP3 or WMA mode),
press and release the RPT button.
You will see RPT in the display.
Press and hold the RPT button for 2
seconds to turn it off.
This feature,
when activated, replays all f iles on
the selected f older in the order they
are compressed. To activate folder
repeat, press the RPT button twice. You will hear a beep and see F-RPT
in the display. The system
continuously replays the current
folder. Press the RPT button again to
turn it off. Pressing the RDM button,
or selecting a dif f erent f older with
the TUNE knob also turns of f the
repeat feature.
Each time you press and release the
RPT button, the mode changes f rom
f ile repeat to f older repeat, then to
normal playing.
This f eature plays
the tracks within a disc (the f iles
within a f older in MP3 or WMA
mode) in random order. To activate
random play, press and release the
RDM button. In MP3 or WMA mode,
press the RDM button repeatedly to
select RDM (within a f older random
play). You will see RDM in the
display. Press the RDM button f or 2
seconds to return to normal play. This
feature, when activated, plays all
f iles in each f older in random order.
To activate folder random, press the
RDM button 2 times. You will hear a
beep and see F-RDM in the display.
The system will then select and play
f iles randomly. This continues until
you deactivate folder random by
pressing the RDM button again, or
by selecting a dif f erent f older with
the TUNE knob.
Each time you press and release the
RDM button, the mode changes
f rom f older random play to random
play (within a f older random play),
then to normal playing.

Pressing either side of the SEEK/
SKIP button also turns of f the scan
feature. Each time you press and release the
SCAN button, the mode changes
from folder scan to scan, then to
normal playing.Press the eject button ( ) to
remove the disc. If you eject the disc,
but do not remove it f rom the slot,
the system will automatically reload
it af ter 10 seconds and put it in pause
mode. To begin playing, press the
CD button.
You can also eject the disc when the
ignition switch is of f .
To play the radio when a disc is
playing, press the AM or FM button
(the AM/FM button or XM button
on models that are XM radio
capable). Press the CD button again
to switch back to the disc player.
The scan f unction samples all tracks
(f iles in MP3 or WMA) on the disc in
the order they are recorded on the
disc. To activate scan, press the
SCAN button. In MP3 or WMA
mode, press the SCAN button
repeatedly to select SCAN. You will
see SCAN in the display. You will get
a10secondsamplingof eachtrack/
f ile on the disc. Press the SCAN
button again to get out of scan mode
and play the last track/f ile sampled.
This
feature, when activated, samples the
f irst f ile of each f older on the disc.
To activate folder scan, press the
SCAN button twice. You will see
F-SCAN in the display.
The system plays the f irst f ile in the
f irst f older f or about 10 seconds. If
you do nothing, the system will then
play the f irst f iles in the remaining
f olders f or 10 seconds each. Af ter
playing the f irst f ile of the last f older,
the system plays normally.
Pressing either side of the SEEK/
SKIP button, selecting a dif f erent
folder with the TUNE knob, or
pressing the SCAN button, also turns

If you turn the system of f while a
disc is playing, either with the
power/volume knob or by turning
of f the ignition switch, the disc will
stay in the drive. When you turn the
system back on, the disc will begin
playing where it lef t of f .
Load the desired discs in the
magazine, and load the magazine in
the changer according to the
instructions that came with the unit.
To select the disc changer, press the
CD button. The disc and track
numbers will be displayed. To select
a dif f erent disc, use the preset 4
(DISC ) or the preset 1 (DISC )
on the preset button. To select the
previous disc, press the preset 4
(DISC ), or the preset 1 (DISC )
to select the next disc in sequence.If you select an empty slot in the
magazine, the changer will search
f or the next available disc to load and
play.
An optional six or eight disc changer
is available f or your vehicle. This
disc changer uses the same controls
used f or the in-dash disc player or
the radio. For inf ormation on how to handle

The ignition switch must be in the
ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) position.
Turn the system on by pushing the
power/volume knob or the AM/FM
button. Adjust the volume by turning
the power/volume knob.
Pushing the AUDIO button will also
turn on the system.
You can also operate the audio
system without using the control
icons on the audio screen. Use the
control buttons on the lef t side of the
screen. The status bar appears on
the bottom of the screen each time
you operate any of the control
buttons. On the navigation screen,
you can also see audio inf ormation
by touching the AUDIO INFO icon
on the lower of the screen. The band and f requency that the
radio was last tuned to are displayed.
To change bands, press the AM/FM
button, or touch the desired band
icon (FM1, FM2, AM, XM1, or XM2).
On the FM band, STEREO will be
displayed if the station is
broadcasting in stereo. Stereo
reproduction on AM is not available.
For inf ormation on XM radio, see
page .
You can use any of f ive methods to
f ind radio stations on the selected
band: tune, seek, scan, the preset
buttons, and auto select.
Use the TUNE bar to tune
the radio to a desired f requency.
Press the side of the bar to tune
to a higher f requency, and press the side to tune to a lower
f requency.
Press and hold the or side of
the TUNE bar until you hear two
beeps to change the f requency
rapidly. Release the bar when the
display reaches the desired
f requency.
