The heater uses engine coolant to
warm the air. If the engine is cold, it
will be several minutes bef ore you
f eel warm air coming f rom the
system.
The f low-through ventilation system
draws in outside air, circulates it
through the interior, then exhausts it
through vents near the rear side
panels.
Set the temperature to the lower
limit.
Make sure the A/C is of f .
Select and fresh air mode.
Set the f an to the desired speed. Select and fresh air mode.
Set the f an to the desired speed.
Adjust the warmth of the air with
the temperature control dial.Air conditioning places an extra load
on the engine. Watch the engine
coolant temperature gauge (see page
). If it moves near the red zone,
turn of f the A/C until the gauge
reading returns to normal.

This setting is suitable f or all driving
conditions whenever the outside
temperature is above 32°F (0°C). Air conditioning, as it cools, removes
moisture from the air. When used in
combination with the heater, it
makes the interior warm and dry and
can prevent the windows f rom
f ogging up.

cool it down more rapidly by partially
opening the windows, turning on the
A/C, and setting the fan to
maximum speed in f resh air mode.
The vehicle has two A/C
units, one is in the f ront, and the
other is in the rear. The LX units are
independently controlled. The EX
and EX-L units are controlled by the
f ront panel controls, unless the RR
A/C MANUAL button is selected.
To cool the interior with MAX A/C: Set the f an to the desired speed.
Select MAX A/C mode.
The system automatically turns on
the A/C, selects , and
switches to recirculation mode.
Make sure the temperature is set

When you switch to , f romor , the A/C stays on.
This helps prevent the windows f rom
rapidly f ogging up when the air is
suddenly routed away f rom the
windshield. If you want to turn the
A/C off, press and release the A/C
button until the indicator in the
buttoncomesonandthengoesoff.
When you press again or the
MODE button, the A/C returns to its
original setting, either on or of f , as
displayed by the A/C ON or A/C
OFF indicator. If the original setting
is A/C OFF, the system switches to
AUTO. Select . The system
automatically switches to f resh air
mode and turns on the A/C. The
A/C indicator (LX model) or the
A/C ON indicator in the display
(EX and EX-L models) will not be
displayed if it was previously of f .

For your saf ety, make sure you have
a clear view through all the windows
bef ore driving.
To clear the windows f aster, you can
close the dashboard corner vents by
rotating the wheel below it. This will
send more warm air to the
windshield def roster vents.
Continuous use of the recirculation
mode can cause humidity to build up
inside the vehicle. Once the
windshield is clear, select the f resh
air mode to avoid fogging the

µYou can manually select various
f unctions of the climate control
system when it is in FULL AUTO.
All other f eatures remain
automatically controlled. Making any
manual selection causes the word
FULL in the display to go out.
The automatic climate control
system adjusts the f an speed and
airflow levels to maintain the interior
temperature you select.
Press the AUTO button.
Set the desired temperature by
turning the temperature control
dial. You will see FULL AUTO in
the system’s display.
The system automatically selects the
proper mix of conditioned and/or
heated air that will, as quickly as
possible, raise or lower the interior
temperature to your pref erence. When you set the temperature to its
lower limit ( ) or its upper limit
( ), the system runs at f ull cooling
or heating only. It does not regulate
the interior temperature.
In cold weather, the f an will not
come on automatically until the
heater starts to develop warm air.
When the
system is in FULL AUTO, the rear
A/C passenger control dial cannot
be used. Pressing the button disables
the FULL AUTO f unction. Turning the fan control dial to the
off position shuts the system off.
If you press OFF, the climate control
system shuts of f completely.
Keep the system completely of f
f or short periods only.
To keep stale air and mustiness
f rom collecting, you should have
the f an running at all times.

A passenger in the second row can
use the rear fan control dial to adjust
the amount of airf low to the rear
passenger compartment.
Press the RR A/C MANUAL button
to enable the rear temperature
control dial; a second row passenger
can now adjust the temperature in
the rear passenger compartment
with the rear temperature control
dial.
OFF (center) The rear A/C unit
shuts off.
Cool Air Turn this dial
counterclockwise to increase the
airflow.
Warm Air Turn this dial clockwise
to increase the airflow. When the RR A/C MANUAL button

store one f requency on AM and two
f requencies on FM.
Select the desired band, AM or
FM. FM1 and FM2 let you store
two f requencies with each preset
button.

desired station.

until you hear a beep.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 to store a
total of six stations on AM and
twelve stations on FM.
The preset f requencies will be lost if
your vehicle’s battery goes dead, is
disconnected, or the radio f use is
removed.
The ignition switch must be in the
ACCESSORY (I) or the ON (II)
position. Turn the system on by
pushingthePWR/VOLknoborthe
AM/FM button. (AM or FM button
on U.S. EX model and Canadian
model).
Adjust the volume by turning the
PWR/VOL knob.
The band and f requency that the
radio was last tuned to is displayed.
To change bands, press the AM/FM
button (AM or FM button). On the
FM band, ST will be displayed if the
stationisbroadcastinginstereo.
Stereo reproduction in AM is not
available.
You can use any of f ive methods to
find radio station on the selected
band: , , , the
preset buttons, and
Use the TUNE knob to tune the radio to a desired f requency.
Turn the knob right to tune to a
higher f requency, or lef t to tune to a
lower f requency.
If you do nothing, the system will
scan f or the next strong station and
play it f or 5 seconds. When it plays a
station you want to listen to, press
the SCAN button again.
The scan f unction samples
all stations with strong signals on the
selected band. To activate it, press
the SCAN button, then release it.
You will see SCAN in the display.
The system will scan f or a station
with a strong signal. When it f inds
one, it will stop and play that station
f or about 5 seconds. The SEEK f unction
searches up and down f rom the
current f requency to f ind a station
with a strong signal. To activate it,
press the /( ) or /( )
side of the bar, then release it. 1.
