If the gauge pointer moves
beyond the normal range area
toward the "H" position, it indi-
cates overheating that may dam-
age the fuel cell stack.Hydrogen fuel gauge
This gauge indicates the approxi-mate amount of fuel remaining in thefuel tank (The fuel tank capacity is
given in chapter 8). The fuel gauge is
supplemented by a low fuel warninglight which will illuminate when the
fuel tank is nearly empty. Information -

NOTICE
Running Out of Fuel
Running out of fuel can expose
vehicle occupants to danger.
You must stop and obtain addi-
tional fuel as soon as possibleafter the warning light comes
on or when the gauge indicator
comes close to the ''E'' (Empty)
level.
WARNING
Radiator Cap
Never remove the radiator cap
when the fuel cell power mod-
ule is hot. Otherwise the fuel
cell stack coolant may be under
pressure and cause severe
burns. Wait until the fuel cell
power module is cool before
adding coolant to the reservoir.

trolled automatically by the tem-
perature setting you select.
2. Press the temperature control but- ton (1,2) to the desired tempera-
ture. If the temperature is set to
the lowest setting (Lo), the air con-
ditioning system will operate con-
tinuously. After the interior has
cooled sufficiently, adjust the but-
ton to a proper temperature set
point whenever possible.
To turn the automatic operation off,
select any button of the following:
- Mode selection button
- Front windshield defroster button (Press the button one more time to deselect the front windshield
defroster function. The 'AUTO' sign
will illuminate on the information
display once again.) - Fan speed control button The selected function will be con-
trolled manually while other functions
operate automatically.
For your convenience and to improve the efficiency of the climate control,
use the AUTO button and set the
temperature to 22°C (72°F).
Never place anything near the ambient light/solar sensor to
ensure better control of the heat-ing and cooling system.
Manual Temperature Control Mode
The heating and cooling system can

ton( ) and the indicator light
illuminates, cold air mostly blows in
the direction of the driver's seating
position. However, some of the cold
air may be vented out of other seat-
ing position ducts to keep indoor airpleasant.
If you use the button with no passen- ger in the front passenger seat, ener-
gy consumption may be reduced.
DRIVER ONLY button will be turned
off under the following conditions:
1) Defrost on (the DRIVER ONLYbutton indicator is not turned off)

Cooling / Ventilation
1. Select the Face Level mode.
2. Set the air intake control to fresh mode.
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.
Heating
1. Select the Floor Level mode.
2. Set the air intake control to freshmode.
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.
5. If desired, turn the air conditioning ON with the temperature control knob set to heat in order to dehu-
midify the air before it enters intothe cabin.
If the windshield fogs up, select the
Floor & Defrost mode or press
the Front Defrost mode.
Operation Tips
If dust or unpleasant fumes are entering the car through the venti-
lation system, temporarily set the
air intake control to the recircula-
tion mode. Return the control to thefresh mode when the unpleasant
air outside has diminished. This will
help keep the driver alert and com-
fortable.
To help prevent the inside of the windshield from fogging, set the air
intake control to fresh mode and
the fan speed to the desired posi-
tion, turn on the air conditioning
system, and adjust the temperature
control to the desired temperature.

Air conditioning
Your HYUNDAI vehicle air condition- ing system is filled with R-1234yf
refrigerant.
1. Start the vehicle.
2. Press the air conditioning button.
3. Select the Face Level mode.
4. Set the air intake control toRecirculation mode temporarily to
allow the cabin to cool quickly.
When the desired temperature inthe cabin is reached, change the
air intake control back to Fresh
mode.
5. Adjust the fan speed control and temperature control to maintain
maximum comfort.
When maximum cooling is desired,
set the temperature control to the
MAX A/C position, then set the fanspeed control to the highest setting. When using the air conditioning
system, monitor the temperature
gauge closely while driving up
hills or in heavy traffic when out-
side temperatures. Air condition-
ing system operation when climb-ing a steep grade or in high out-side ambient temperatures can
cause fuel cell stack overheating.
Continue to use the fan, but turn the air conditioning system off if
the temperature gauge indicates
fuel cell stack overheating.
Air conditioning system operation
tips
If the vehicle has been parked in
direct sunlight during hot weather,
open the windows for a short time
to let the hot air inside the vehicle
escape.
After sufficient cooling has been achieved, switch back from recircu-
lation mode to fresh mode. To help reduce moisture inside of
the windows on rainy or humid
days, decrease the humidity inside
the vehicle by operating the airconditioning system with the win-
dows and sunroof closed.
Use the air conditioning system every month only for a few minutes
to ensure maximum system per-
formance.
If you operate air conditioner exces- sively, the difference between the
temperature of the outside air andthat of the windshield could cause
the outer surface of the windshield
to fog up, causing loss of visibility. In
this case, set the mode selection
knob or button to the position
and fan speed control to the lowerspeed.

System Maintenance
Cabin air filter
[A] : Outside air, [B] : Recirculated air
[C] : Climate control air filter, [D] : Blower
[E] : Evaporator core, [F] : Heater core The cabin air filter is installed behind
the glove box. It filters the dust or other
pollutants that enter the vehiclethrough the heating and air condition-ing system.
Have the The cabin air filter replaced
by an authorized HYUNDAI dealeraccording to the maintenance sched-
ule.If the vehicle is being driven in
severe conditions such as dusty or
rough roads and/or if transporting
pets or occupants smoke inside the
vehicle, then more frequent cabin airfilter inspections and changes arerequired.
If the air flow rate suddenly decreas-
es, the system should be checked at
an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Checking the amount of air con-
ditioner refrigerant and com-
pressor lubricant
When the amount of refrigerant is
low, the performance of the air con-
ditioning is reduced. Overfilling also
reduces the performance of the airconditioning system.
Therefore, if abnormal operation is
found, we recommend that the sys-
tem be inspected by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
It is important that the correct type and amount of oil and refrig-
erant is used. Otherwise, damageto the compressor and abnormal
system operation may occur. To
prevent damage, the air condition-
ing system in your vehicle should
only be serviced by trained and
certified technicians.

If warm air to the floor is desired while defrosting or defogging, set themode to the floor-defrost position.
Before driving, clear all snow and ice from the windshield, rear win-
dow, side view mirrors, and all side
windows.
Clear all snow and ice from the hood and air inlet in the cowl grill to
improve heater and defroster effi-ciency and to reduce the probability
of fogging up the inside of the wind-shield.Automatic Temperature Control

1. Select the desired fan speed.
2. Select the desired temperature.
3. Press the defroster button ( ).
4. Fresh mode will be selected auto- matically.

If the position is selected, the fan speed is automatically increased.
Windshield heating
Do not use the or posi- tion during cooling operation in
extremely humid weather. The
difference between the temper-ature of the outside air and thatof the windshield could causethe outer surface of the wind-
shield to fog up, causing loss ofvisibility could cause an acci-
dent resulting in serious injury
or death. In this case, set the
mode selection knob or button
to the position and fan
speed control knob or button to
