Key Reminder Function
Key reminder functions have the following 3 functions.
*:If the door closing impact shocks the door lock knob, or contacts against baggage with the door lock knob might activate the door locks
accidentally but unlock operation will be perform at these cases.
CAUTION:
The above function operates when the Intelligent Key is inside the vehicle. However, there may be
times when the Intelligent Key cannot be detected, and this function will not operate when the
Intelligent Key is on the instrument panel, rear parcel shelf, or in the glove box. Also, this system
sometimes does not operate if the Intelligent Key is in the door pocket for the open door.
When the key reminder function is operated when the trunk is open/closed and the buzzers sound,
if the following operations are performed, the key reminder function is cleared and buzzer sounds
are stopped.
–Remote controller door lock button operation of Intelligent Key
–Remote controller door unlock button operation of Intelligent Key
–When the trunk is closed, the Intelligent Key is not inside the vehicle
–When any door is open
Selective Unlock Function
When an LOCK signal is sent from door request switch (driver side or passenger side), all doors will be locked.
When an UNLOCK signal is sent from door request switch (driver side or passenger side) once, driver's door
will be unlocked.
Then, if an UNLOCK signal is sent from door request switch (driver side and passenger side) again within 5
seconds, all other door will be unlocked.
Hazard and Buzzer Reminder Function
During lock, unlock, or trunk opening operation by each request switch, the hazard warning lamps and Intelli-
gent Key warning buzzer will flashes or honk as a reminder.
When doors are locked, unlocked or trunk open by each request switch, Intelligent Key unit honks Intelligent
Key warning buzzer as a reminder and sends hazard request signal to BCM via CAN communication line.
BCM flashes hazard warning lamps as a reminder.

INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM/ENGINE START FUNCTION

starter motor relay. (If the engine initiating has failed, the cranking will stop automatically within 5 sec-
onds.)
CAUTION:
When the Intelligent Key is carried outside of the vehicle (inside key antenna detection area) with
the power supply in ACC or ON position, even if the engine start condition* is satisfied, the engine
cannot be started.
*: For the engine start condition, refer to BL-128, "
PUSH-BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH OPERATION PROCE-
DURE" .
Operation Range
Engine can be started when Intelligent Key is inside the vehicle. However, sometimes engine might not start
when Intelligent Key is on instrument panel or in glove box.
OPERATION WHEN KEY SLOT IS USED
When the Intelligent Key battery is discharged, it performs the immobilizer ID verification between the inte-
grated transponder and BCM by inserting the Intelligent Key into the key slot, and then the engine can be
started.
For details relating to starting the engine using key slot, refer to BL-244, "
IVIS (INFINITI VEHICLE IMMOBI-
LIZER SYSTEM-NATS)" .
PUSH-BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH OPERATION PROCEDURE
The power supply position changing operation can be performed with the following operation.
NOTE:
When an Intelligent Key is within the detection area of inside key antenna and when it is inserted to the
key slot, it is equivalent to the operations below.
When starting the engine, the Intelligent Key unit monitors the engine start conditions (brake pedal operat-
ing condition, A/T selector lever position, and vehicle speed).
Unless each start condition is fulfilled, the engine will not respond regardless of how many times the
engine switch is pushed. At that time, illumination repeats the position in the order of LOCK→AC-
C→ON→LOCK.

WINDSHIELD GLASS
Revision: 2007 April2007 M35/M45
4. Remove the cowl top cover. Refer to EI-18, "COWL TOP" .
5. Remove roof side molding. Refer to EI-25, "
ROOF SIDE MOLDING" .
6. Apply a protective tape around the windshield glass to protect the painted surface from damage.
7. After removing moldings, remove glass using piano wire or power cutting tool A and an inflatable pump
bag B.
NOTE:
If a windshield glass is to be reused, mark the body and the glass with mating marks.
WARNING:
When cutting the glass from the vehicle, always wear safety glasses and heavy gloves to help prevent
glass splinters from entering your eyes or cutting your hands.
CAUTION:
When a windshield glass is to be reused, do not use a cutting knife or power cutting tool.
Be careful not to scratch the glass when removing.
Do not set or stand the glass on its edge. Small chips may develop into cracks.
8. Remove the windshield glass, using suction lifter.
INSTALLATION
The dam rubber should be installed in position.
Use a genuine Nissan Urethane Adhesive Kit (if available) or equivalent and follow the instructions fur-
nished with it.
While the urethane adhesive is curing, open a door window. This will prevent the glass from being forced
out by passenger room air pressure when a door is closed.
The molding must be installed securely so that it is in position and leaves no gap.
Inform the customer that the vehicle should remain stationary until the urethane adhesive has completely
cured (preferably 24 hours). Curing time varies with temperature and humidity.
WARNING:
Keep heat and open flames away as primers and adhesive are flammable.
The materials contained in the kit are harmful if swallowed, and may irritate skin and eyes. Avoid
contact with the skin and eyes.
Use in an open, well ventilated location. Avoid breathing the vapors. They can be harmful if
inhaled. If affected by vapor inhalation, immediately move to an area with fresh air.
Driving the vehicle before the urethane adhesive has completely cured may affect the perfor-
mance of the windshield in case of an accident.
CAUTION:
Do not use an adhesive which is past its usable term. Shelf life of this product is limited to six
months after the date of manufacture. Carefully adhere to the expiration or manufacture date
printed on the box.
Keep primers and adhesive in a cool, dry place. Ideally, they should be stored in a refrigerator.
Do not leave primers or adhesive cartridge unattended with their caps open or off.
The vehicle should not be driven for at least 24 hours or until the urethane adhesive has com-
pletely cured. Curing time varies depending on temperature and humidity. The curing time will
increase under lower temperature and lower humidity.
